Long gamma-ray bursts in the Swift era: the color indices of their optical afterglows

We present an analysis of optical afterglows (OAs) of long GRBs which were mostly discovered by NASA Swift. We used the method of the color indices that uses the commonly available multiband photometry. We show that for most OAs, in the observer frame, these colors, corrected for the reddening inside our Galaxy, display prominent clustering in some color-color diagrams

Estimation of instantanenous frequency

V bakalářské práci jsou popsány algoritmy, které je možno použít k výpočtu okamžitého kmitočtu. Následně jsou uvedeny závěry, ke kterým se došlo po implementaci uvedených algoritmů do programu Matlab. Metody jsou porovnávány ze dvou hledisek. Prvním hlediskem je přesnost metod v závislosti na časovém průběhu vstupního signálu. Druhým hlediskem je přesnost metod v závislosti na poměru kmitočtu a vzorkovacího kmitočtu vstupního signálu. Cílem této práce je zhodnocení jednotlivých metod a posouzení, která metoda vykazuje nejlepší vlastnosti.This bachelor’s thesis describes different instantaneous frequency estimators. Various methods are implement into Matlab software and there are introduced conclusions of testing. Methods are compared in two aspects. The first aspect is accuracy of method which depend on time progress input signal. The second aspect is accuracy of method which depend on ratio frequency of input signal and sampling frequency. Outcomes of tests are compared. The result of this work is evaluate properties each method.

Import 21/10/2013Bakalářské práce pojednává o jednotlivých typech rozvodných sítí nízkého a vysokého napětí. Nejprve začínám popisovat druhy rozvodných sítí podle napěťových hladin, typu zapojení sítě, podle druhu použitých vodičů, přičemž větší pozornost je věnována izolovaným vedením nízkého napětí označované AES. Pozornost je dále věnována údržbě a ochraně sítí proti přepětí. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce, je finanční porovnání tří druhů rekonstrukcí venkovního vedení.This bachelor thesis focuses on the different types of high and low voltage electric grids. At first there are described types of electric grids according to voltage level, the type of grid connection and the type of used wires, while the main focus of the thesis is on the isolated low voltage power line named AES. The thesis also concentrates on the maintenance and protection of grids against over-voltage. LOWMASS BINARY XRAY SOURCES: MONITORING WITH VARIOUS SATELLITES

We show the importance of observing low-mass binary (LMXB) X-ray sources with the X-ray monitors onboard satellites. This enables us to study the physical processes governing the longterm activity of LMXBs. They are excellent targets for monitoring because of their strong activity. We recall that various physical processes operating in LMXBs produce specific large-amplitude variations of X-ray luminosity which can be investigated even in a single-band X-ray light curve as often provided by the monitors. We also emphasize the role of the spectral region of the X-ray monitor. Choosing the spectral region often strongly influences the profile of the observed intensity curve because different emission components may dominate in different X-ray energy ranges. We show several examples of LMXBs which undergo various types of unpredictable activity (e.g. outbursts, superorbital cycles)

Snake Robot Design

Bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem robotického hada pro planární platformu pohybu. Práce je fakticky rozdělená do dvou částí. V první recenzní části je stručně pojednáno o základních pohybech biologických hadů. Dále je ukázáno základní rozdělení robotických hadů podle typu konstrukce, včetně příkladů a jsou uvedeny realizační týmy. Ve druhé části práce je popsán vlastní návrh robotického hada.Bachelor's thesis deals with design of snake-like robot for planar motion platform. Thesis is divided into two sections. The first part briefly presents basic movements of biological snake, which is followed by a chapter with snake-like robots divided into categories according to the type of their design including characteristics of examples. Design of the robotic snake is described in the second part.

Schwertgurte des 9. bis 10. Jahrhunderts in West- und Mitteleuropa

Der Artikel fasst bisherige Kenntnisse ueber Schwertgurte der 9. und 10. Jhdt. in West- und Mitteleuropa. Man kann drei Haupttypen von Schwerthurten unterscheiden: Gurt mit kleeblatfoermigem Beschlag, Typ Závada und Typ Marsum. Alle drei Typen enstanden in Karolingerreich.Článek shrnuje dosavadní bádání o mečových pásech z 9. a 10. století v západní a střední Evropě a zveřejňuje některé dosud nepublikované nebo v literatuře málo známé exempláře. Autor rozlišuje tři hlavní typy mečových pásů: s trojlistým kováním, typ Závada a typ Marsum. Všechny vznikly na území Franské říše v době karolinské.The paper sums up the hitherto knowledge of sword belts from the 9th and 10th centuries in central and western Europe. Sword belts were of a relatively heterogeneous appearance. We can distinguish three main types: sets with trefoil mount, and the Závada and Marsum types. All three types of sword belt sets emerged on the territory of the Frankish Empire

Steady state of fuzzy dynamical system

Hlavním cílem mé bakalářské práce je navrhnout fuzzy systém s využitím rekurzivní metody nejmenších čtverců (RLS), která bude použita k aproximaci grey-box dynamického nelineárního modelu, o němž předem víme, že je monotónní. Bude navržen samostatný algoritmus, jenž zaručí monotonicitu systému po každém kroku RLS. Nakonec se pokusíme identifikovat dvě různé monotonní funkce, za účelem demonstrace vlivu algoritmu na chování systému.The main objective of my thesis is to design a fuzzy system using Recursive Least Squares Algorithm (RLS), which will be applied to approximate a grey-box dynamic non-linear model, provided we know beforehand, that the model to be identified is monotonic. Stand-alone algorithm will be proposed, which will enforce monotonicity of the system after each step of RLS. Finally, two different monotonic functions will be identified in order to demonstrate the algorithm's effect on the system's behavior

První část je věnována informacím o společnosti a pozici, na které jsem praxi vykonal. Dále se zabývá procesy ITIL, kterých bylo nutné se při vykonávání praxe držet a stručně charakterizuje technické prostředí. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na charakteristiku konkrétních úloh, které jsem během své praxe vykonával.
