Distribution patterns of stream macroinvertebrates at Kamitani, Ashiu Forest Research Station, Kyoto, Japan
2008-2009年の芦生研究林上谷流域における11河川 (針広混交林10, スギ人工林1)の底生動物群集構造を報告し, 群集構造と森林環境との関係を考察した. その結果, 底生動物群集は (1)シカ食害・排除区の2次谷河川, (2)シカ食害区の1次谷河川, (3)シカ排除区の1次谷河川, (4)シカ食害区のスギ人工林1次谷河川の4 種類に類型化された. シカ食害区の1次谷河川の群集はスギ人工林1 次谷河川を除く他河川より多様度が低く, 細粒土砂に生息する底生動物に特徴づけられた. これらの結果は, シカ食害による土壌侵食を通じた河床細粒化に起因すると推察された. 一方, 2次谷河川の群集はシカ食害・排除区で類似し, 刈取食者, 捕食者に特徴づけられた. このことから, 2次谷河川は1次谷河川よりも付着藻類, 被食者が豊富な河川環境や, シカ食害による河床細粒化が起こりにくい強力な掃流力を有していると考えられた. また, スギ人工林1次谷河川の群集は破砕食者に特徴づけられた. 上谷流域における底生動物群集は, 河川サイズに応じて異なる河川物理環境や, 森林―渓流生態系のつながりを通じた森林環境の影響を良く反映し, それぞれで異なった構造の底生動物群集が成立していることが判明した.We reported the stream macroinvertebrate community structures in 2008-2009 in 11 streams (mixed forest: 10, Japanese cedar plantation: 1) belonging to Kamitani, Ashiu Research Forest, Kyoto, Japan, and discussed the relationships between the community structures and forest environments. Macroinvertebrate communities were classified into four groups; (1) second-order streams at deer-excluded and deer-grazed sites, (2) first-order streams at deer-grazed site, (3) first-order streams at deer-excluded site, and (4) first-order stream at cedar plantation with deer. Under deer overbrowsing, macroinvertebrate communities in first-order streams showed lower diversity than those in the other streams, and were characterized by a dominance of burrower taxon. These results might be attributed to fine sedimentation via soil erosion caused by deer overbrowsing. On the other hand, in second-order streams, macroinvertebrate community structure was similar between the deer-excluded and deer-grazed sites, and the community was characterized by dominance of grazer and predator taxa. These results suggest that second-order streams have abundant periphyton and prey items, and strong tractive force which might wash out fine particles more effectively compared to those of first-order streams. In cedar plantation, macroinvertebrate community in first-order stream was characterized by dominance of shredder taxa. In conclusion, macroinvertebrate communities in Kamitani showed different structure patterns in relation to physical environment (i.e., stream size), and forest environment through forest-stream ecosystem
Ectopic prostatic tissue in retrotrigone of the bladder: a case report
35歳男.腹部超音波検査で膀胱内に腫瘍を指摘され精査加療目的で入院した.画像所見等から悪性も否定できない為, 経尿道的膀胱腫瘍切除術を施行した.組織病理学的所見により, 膀胱内に発生した異所性前立腺組織と診断した.術後経過は良好で退院となった.外来で経過観察中であるが, 再発は認めていないWe herein report a case of ectopic prostatic tissue in the retrotrigone of the bladder. A 35-year-old man was referred to our hospital because of bladder tumor which was incidentally discovered on abdominal ultrasonography (US). US and computed tomography (CT) showed a tumor in the bladder wall 1.5 cm in diameter. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an invasive bladder tumor. Cystoscopy showed a non-papillary, wide-based tumor in the retrotrigone of the bladder. Transurethral resection of bladder tumor was carried out and pathological findings showed ectopic prostatic tissue. This is the 8th case of ectopic prostatic tissue in the Japanese literature

Surface rendering algorithm of tenuous vasculature in medical images
在医学图像处理中,常常需要提取出特定的组织或者结构,再以提取到的二值体数据为基础,对组织结构进行三维重建。传统的MArCHIng CubE(MC)算法在对微细结构进行三维重建时,可能会产生断裂现象,不能有效保持原始体数据的连通性。以血管体数据为例,针对医学图像中微细管道结构重建提出一种改进的MC算法,以保持重建后组织结构的连通性。In medical image processing,special tissues and structures are usually extracted as binary data for 3D reconstruction.Traditional Marching Cube(MC) algorithm may cause separateness to tenuous tissues and structures when reconstructing the extracted volume data,and the connectivity of volume data can not be well reserved.In this paper,an improved method to MC algorithm is proposed for the tenuous vasculature reconstruction in medical images that can keep the connectivity of tissues and structures.国家自然科学基金No.60701022---

Departmental Bulletin PaperBiodiversity in traditional farmlands has been associated with the habitat heterogeneity of farmlands and seminatural lands at small scales. However, urbanization, loss of habitat heterogeneity caused by farmland modernization and abandonment of cultivation diminish biodiversity. We evaluated indices for the habitat
heterogeneity of agricultural areas using National Land Numerical Information. We used the Land Use Tertiary Mesh(LUTM) and the Land Use Fragmented Mesh(LUFM) from the National Land Numerical Information. The LUTM consists of data on surface area according to usage classifications (rice paddies, fields, orchards, forest, waste area, building use, trunk transportation land, lakes, rivers, etc.) in tertiary mesh units( 1 km meshes), and LUFM consists of land use data in a tertiary mesh subdivided into one-tenth units (100 m grids). The indices evaluated were following three:(1) SI, which is a product of diversity index for non-urban land use and proportion of natural lands. (2) Local diversity, which is the average of the values of non-urban land use types for the
bordering eight zones. (3) Forest edge paddy, which is the sum of paddy zones bordering forests. Forest edge paddy detected mosaic landscapes and obtained the highest true discrimination rate for the presence/absence estimation of Hynobius nebulosus. This study aims at illustrating our students\u27 motivation, behaviors,psychological wants and self-awareness in learning English. The data gathered using 69 questions was computed by each question and t-test statistic indicated the following :1) English major students obtained higher scores on most of the questions than non-English major ones,2)for-non-Englishmajorstudents,students who would liketo study at four-year universities after graduation showed a little more positive attitude toward English learning than the ones who would not,and 3)for the same non-English major students,sophomores responded a little more positively to some questions than freshmen. The difference found between 1st and 2nd year students was beyond the author\u27s expectation,but all results seem to show our students\u27eagerness and sincerity toward studying
