Based on syntactic and semantic analysis of catch words coined after 2000, this study clarifies de-categorization of words from the perspective of grammatical variation. The findings are: 1) de-categorization of nouns exists in "N + Itu teru\u27\u27 and \u27\u27N + na + N" ; 2) de-categorization of adjectives are realized by \u27\u27wo" \u27\u27de" in case-auxiliary words that follow ; 3) the meaning of \u27\u27nau" distributes in \u27\u27ni" in accompanying case-auxiliary words, in nouns, gerunds and predicates. "nau" is interchangeable with "~toki (baai)\u27\u27 in case-auxiliary \u27\u27ni", with \u27\u27ima～ni iru" in nouns and gerunds when followed by nouns of location, and with "~no ima\u27\u27 when followed by nouns having to do with people. When followed by gerunds, \u27\u27nau " is interchangeable with \u27\u27~tyuu\u27\u27 with durative verbs, but not so with momentary verbs. When followed by, adjectives, \u27\u27nau\u27\u27 indicates \u27\u27the state it is in\u27\u27. Thus nouns and adjectives develop new semantic function and realize grammatical variation through de-categorization. Furthermore \u27\u27nau" changes from content word into function word and grammatical variation is achieved through semantic de-categorization
