    A CASE OF SELECTIVE HYPOALDOSTERONISM DIAGNOSED AFTER CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE

    A 54 year-old male who had suffered from an attack of cerebral hemorrhage five months before was admitted because of increasing dizziness and fatigue. Laboratory examinations on admission revealed both hyponatremia and hyperkalemia. Despite the elevation of plasma renin activity (PRA), plasma aldosterone level was markedly low. Both basal plasma cortisol level and urinary 17-OHCS excretion rate were normal. While cortisol showed a normal response to rapid ACTH infusion test, plasma aldosterone showed no or very low response to each of the endocrinological tests carried out (rapid ACTH infusion test, angiotensin Ⅱ infusion test and furosemide two-hour standing test). However, PRA showed a marked increase in response to furosemide two-hour standing test. On the basis of these findings, a diagnosis of selective hypoaldosteronism (Type Ⅰ) was entablished. The present disease was probably due to destruction of the zona glomerulosa of the adrenal cortex caused by some autoimmune mechanism

    Ultra-short light pulses of several picoseconds are easily obtained from a conventional selιmode-locked Nd3+ glass laser. However, we tried to improve the pulse-width further by use of CPM (Colliding Pulse Mode-locking) method, as a new proposal, in which a saturable absorber cell of 1 mm thick was set in the centre of the laser cavity of 1 m length and a glass rod (LHG-8, 5φ,75ι) was between the cell and the coupling mirror. We used the dye NDL-112 as a saturable absorber of self-mode-locking. The pulse-width was measured by observation of TPF patterns in Rh-6G cell. By exact adjustment of the cell position, we was able to get a long train of about 100 pulses per shot,of which the pulse-width was less than 3 psec, just a half of the conventional.departmental bulletin pape

    本文主要介绍兰州重离子研究装置(HIRFL)周围环境中子和γ辐射监测系统的组成及其性能、测点的布置和初步的运行情况。该系统设4个本地站,每个站内各有一台中子和γ探测器及数据采集器,能自动连续给出结果。运行结果表明,该系统能够区分加速器运行和“雨雪冲刷”对环境本底造成的变化
