Seed Phytosanitary Regulations
The harmonization of seed policies and regulations in the ASARECA member countries is the first step toward creating a seed market that is large enough to attract investment by local and international investors who will provide the quantity, quality and variety of improved seed to meet the region’s growing demands.
Since September 1999, ASARECA with support from USAID has supported a pilot project through ECAPAPA in the East African Community (EAC) countries of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda on five specific areas, namely
- phytosanitary regulations
- seed certification
- plant variety protection
- laws and regulations governing the seed trade
- variety evaluation, release and registration.

Shape Selection and Multi-stability in Helical Ribbons
Helical structures, almost ubiquitous in biological systems, have inspired
the design and manufacturing of helical devices with applications in
nanoelecromechanical systems (NEMS), morphing structures, optoelectronics,
micro-robotics and drug delivery devices. Meanwhile, multi-stable structures,
represented by the Venus flytrap and slap bracelet, have attracted increasing
attention due to their applications in making artificial muscles, bio-inspired
robots, deployable aerospace components and energy harvesting devices. Here we
show that the mechanical anisotropy pertinent to helical deformation, together
with geometric nonlinearity associated with multi-stability, can lead to novel
selection principle of the geometric shape and multi-stability in spontaneous
helical ribbons. Simple table-top experiments were also performed to illustrate
the working principle. Our work will promote understanding of spontaneous
curling, twisting, wrinkling of thin objects and their instabilities, and serve
as a tool in developing functional structures and devices with tunable,
morphing geometries and smart actuation mechanism that can be applied in a
spectrum of areas

【中文摘要】 利用免疫细胞化学SABC法对锯缘青蟹(Scylla serrata)视神经节雌激素受体(ER)进行定位研究.结果表明:视神经节的视外髓、视内髓和视端髓存在ER免疫阳性细胞.视神经节存在的ER免疫阳性细胞可以为雌激素提供结合位点.本研究为雌激素参与视神经节神经内分泌调节作用提供了形态学依据.
【英文摘要】 Antisera generated in vertebrate and immunocytochemical SABC method was applied to observe the immunoreactive neurons and neuropils of estrogen receptor(ER) in optic ganglia of Scylla serrata.The results showed that:ER-immunoreactive substance was located in medulla externa,medulla interna and medulla terminalis in optic ganglion.ER-immunoreactive neurons in optic ganglia might provide the binding sites for estrogen and accept the feedback regulation of estrogen.This present work provides the morphological ...国家自然科学基金(30300269)资
Climate Change Adaptation Policy in Ghana: Priorities for the Agriculture Sector
This report is intended to complement the 2011 CCAFS publication “State of Climate Change
Adaptation and Mitigation Efforts for Agriculture in Ghana” (Domozoro 2011). It provides
relevant updates regarding the policies, projects, or initiatives introduced therein, and an
assessment of the evolving political scenario.
Specifically, this document presents an objective look at 17 key policy documents within three
thematic areas: (1) governance, (2) agriculture, and (3) climate change institutions in Ghana.
Several key projects are also included in this analysis given their relevance and status within
Ghana’s agricultural adaptation regime. A discussion of the institutional arrangements in each of
the thematic areas is provided first, along with a short description of each of the 17 policies and
projects. Then, in the following analysis section, objectives and priorities for each of the policies
are outlined, together with their evolution over time, intending to identify the temporal shifts in
agricultural climate change policy direction in the country. Policy interplay between and within
these thematic areas is also addressed. Power and influence dynamics between actors in Ghana’s
climate change adaptation regime are discussed in the following section and the results of a
Multilevel Stakeholder Influence Mapping (MSIM) exercise are provided. Finally, a discussion
of key challenges and recommendations are provided, as identified through semi-structured
interviews with actors across the country’s adaptation regime
Coil tuning detection module design of magnetic resonance imaging
线圈作为磁共振成像系统的重要组成部分,其性能直接影响成像质量。为了尽可能保证信噪比和图像质量,探测前需进行线圈调谐。调谐时,通过微调线圈的共振频率和阻抗两个参数,使线圈共振频率与拉莫尔频率一致,线圈和前放电路阻抗匹配。本文设计了一种线圈调谐的检测模块,阐述了模块的工作原理和软硬件设计。模块包括测量、处理两个部分,其中采用STM32采集电压数据,通过数据转换后用液晶屏显示实时波形。实际结果表明,此检测模块不仅延续了上位机调谐显示直观清晰的优点,而且兼具独立数码显示表的操作便捷的优点。Coil as an important part of magnetic resonance imaging system,its performance directly effects the imaging quality.In order to ensure the signal-to-noise and image quality as much as possible,it must tune before detect.When tuning,it make the coil resonance frequency is consistent whit the larmor frequency,coil and the circuit impedance matching by tuning the coli frequency and impedance.In this paper,we design a coil tuning detection module,elaborated the principle of module and design of software and hardware.This module includes two parts:measurement and processing. Use STM32 to collect the data of voltage,and display real-time waveform by LCD screen.It turned out that this module not only has the advantage of intuitive and clear by upper machine tuning,and both has the advantage of convenient operation.国家自然科学基金(11175149)资助项
