학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 전산학과, 1992.8, [ [viii], 114 p. ]Logical reasoning of theorem proving is the key to solving many other puzzles, to solving problems in mathenatics, to designing electronic circuits, to verifying programs, and answering many everyday questions. Since the first-order predicate logic is generally sufficient for mathematical reasoning and offers the advantage of being partially decidable, it is widely used in automated reasoning. There have been considerable efforts in developing partial decision procedures of the first-order predicate logic. Notable among them is the resolution method, which is very powerful but relatively slow. Since the introduction of the resolution method by Robinson, many refinements have been proposed to increase the efficiency. One of them is the connection graph proof precedure. The connection graph proof procedure has some distinct advantages over the previous approaches based upon resolution. But the conection graph proof procedure has some problems in applying subsumption rule and in parallelizing the proof procedure, with which we are concerned. Subsumption is a strong tool for reducing the search in proof procedure. But the logical consistency of proof procedure is not preserved when the subsumption rule is used in connection graph proof procedure. To maintain the logical consistency, we define a new $\theta$-subsumption by considering the implicit constraints imposed by links. Since the new definition of $\theta$-subsumption is restrictive, there may exist some clauses which are subsumed with the original definition of $\theta$-subsumption but not with the new defintion. Hence, we provide a graph transformation method which makes C subsume D with the new definition if C subsumes D with the original definition. The subsumption test must be repeated very often and thus its efficiency is decisive for its use. There bave been several researches to overcome the expensiveness of subsumption. Design of pseudo Gaussian function network and its application

학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 기계공학전공, 2005.2, [ x, 197 p. ]RBF(Radial Basis Function Network)는 자주 쓰이는 간단한 구조의 신경회로망인데, 이 신경회로망의 활성화 함수는 가우시안 함수와 같은 대칭형의 함수를 사용한다. 이러한 성질은 신경회로망의 성능을 개선하는데 장애가 되어 왔는데 본 논문에서는 기존의 가우시안 함수를 기반으로 하여 입력에 따라 분산이 달라지는 함수를 새롭게 정의하고 이를 의사 가우시안 함수로 정의하고 이를 바탕으로 새로운 신경회로망을 구성하였다. 이 의사 가우시안 함수는 기존의 RBF 보다 성능이 개선되었으며 교사학습뿐 아니라 비교사 학습에도 좋은 성능을 보이는 것을 실험을 통해 보였다. 이 신경망을 영상처리의 문제중 이미지 세그먼테이션에 적용하였다. 이미지 세그먼테이션에 적용하는 학습룰을 Mumford-Shah 모델에 기반하여 제안하였으며 모의실험을 통해서 X ray 영상과 같이 경계가 불분명한 영상에 적용하여 기존의 active contour 모델에 비해서 개선된 성능을 보이는 것을 확인하였다.한국과학기술원 : 기계공학전공
