Some Considerations in Parsing Korean in Terms of Computational Unifìcation

This is a brief survey of some considerations necessary in parsing Korean in terms of computation. The parser-generator used was part of ECS Machine Translation Engine which is still being upgraded. First, the general scheme of UKOG (my Korean grammar named Unification-based Korean Grammar) is presented and then discussed are five areas of consideration which are deemed to be important for processing Korean; namely (1) the level of ambition of your goal, (2) written vs. spoken data, (3) linguistic aspects, (4) computational aspects, and (5) exchange of information among related disciplines. Especially the third section (3) linguistic aspects (see 5.3) focuses on 12 topics which I consider are the major important considerations that are more or less specific to Korean

Thus, in this paper, it is proposed for an analytic method to calculate the control rod worth in a cylindrical geometry with control rods formed by two rings. For multi-ring problems, existing methods assume that irregular solutions due to the control rod are not depend on angle over the control rod. But this method gives an exact solution because the angular dependency over the control rod is not neglected. And more natural boundary condition for a control rod is used. This method gives n x n matrix equation. As n approaches to infinite, an exact solution can be obtained. But this is impossible, so we restricted numerical results up to first order. In order to obtain the numerical results, a Fortran program is developed. The mumerical results for the Zeroth and First Order Approximations will be shown. Finally, the control rod worth for the control banks of Kori Unit 5 will be obtained and discussed.한국과학기술원 : 핵공학과

저희가 본래 한 시간 가량 토론을 할 생각이었는데, 주제발표해 주시는 분들께서 아주 좋은 내용을 자세하게 말씀해 주시느라고 시간이 많이 지났습니다. 불과 40분 정도밖에 남지 않았기 때문에 효과적인 방법으로 이야기를 진행해야 할 것 같습니다. 오늘 정희성 선생님께서는 권혁철 선생님이 발표해 주신 내용의 끝부분을 도와주신 셈이고, 결국 세 분께서 발제를 해주셨는데, '형태론과 어휘부'라는 제목 아래서 우리 언어학이 이러한 문제를 어떻게 다루며, 요즈음 전산학이 자연언어처리를 하는데, parsing이라든가 여러 가지 다른 부분이 있겠지만, 특히 lexicon의 구성을 어떻게 하는 것이 현재로서 좋은 방안이 될 것이냐를 보겠습니다

감사합니다. 최근에 들어서 수년동안 언어학 분야와 전산학 분야의 공동연구 내지 작업이 이루어지는 가운데, 1986년도 한국과학재단의 지원을 받아‘목척기초연구’라고 하는 정책연구 중에 ‘자연언어처리의 기초연구’라는 3년 계획의 연구과제가 주어진 바 있습니다. 그 과제를 마침 이 자리에 계시는 서울대 언어학과의 장석진 선생님께서 맡아 오셨기 때문에，연구의 목적이나，진행과정에 대해서 듣는 것으로 이 토론회를 시작하도록 하겠습니다. 장석진 : 지금 이청민 사회께서 이야기하신 대로，과학재단에서 후원하는 목적 기초 연구과제로서，1986년에 시작했고 이제 3차년도에 들어가고 있습니다. ‘목적기초과제’라는 것은 ‘특정과제’와 대조되는 말입니다. 즉 특정과제가 가깝게 산업과 직결된다고 하면，목적기초는 그러한 의미에서는 basic하고 학구적인 것이지요
