Online Academic Counseling Through the Internet: A Recent Advance and An Agenda for the Alternative
No full textStudents are frequently overwhelmed by academic problems, which usually leads to some misfits in career choice and other areas. The internet is increasingly becoming an important vehicle for accessing that information and counseling services with a variety of online academic resources for students. In the current state, however, the online academic counseling sites abound with merely general information, making it difficult to .sort out what is both meaningful and helpful among many web sites for counseling. In this article, eleven popular web sites are listed that I have found to be easy to navigate and make reference of. In addition, an overview of the web sites is given and evaluated with four criteria (content, design, communication and technical support).
