A Qualitative Study about the Teachers Culture in March' of Vocational Highschool Teachers

본 연구는 실업계 고등학교에 근무하는 교사들의 교직문화에 대한 연구로서 새로운 학년이 시작되는 3월에 초점을 맞추어 심층면담을 통해 그들의 삶과 실제를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 실업계 고등학교에 근무하는 교사들의 3월은 첫째, 동료교사관계 측면에서 인문교과 교사와 전문교과 교사 사이의 낯설음과 이를 해소하기 위해 관계형성 노력을 하는 시기이며, 둘째, 학생관계에서 학급에서의 높은 긴장과 수업에서의 낮은 부담을 느끼는 시기로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로, 업무관계에서는 학교교육계획을 완성하는 과정에서 오는 어수선함을 경험하는 동시에 업무에 협조하는 시기로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 실업계 고등학교 교사들의 3월 교직문화를 나타내 주는 전체적인 주제어는 '인문교과 교사와 전문교과 교사 사이의 낯설음과 관계형성 노력', '학급에서의 높은 긴장과 수업에서의 낮은 부담', '학교교육계획 수립을 위한 어수선함과 업무에 협조하기'로 표현할 수 있다. The purpose of this study was to investigate their lives and realities through the deep interviews by being focused in March when a new grade was started on teachers culture of the teachers, who were working for the vocational high school. The results of this study were as the followings. First, the relationship with colleague teachers in the teachers culture among vocational highschool teachers in March showed the effort of Relationship-making each other carefully to relax the strange between the humanistic subject teacher and the technical subject teacher. Second, the relationship with students in the teachers culture among vocational highschool teachers in March showed the time to get high tension from classroom and low burden from teaching. Third, the duty relationship in the teachers culture among vocational highschool teachers in March showed the time to be in disorder from the course completing the detailed plan of the school and to cooperate for their duty. Therefore, the theme words are able to be expressed as being strange and effort of Relationship-making between the technical subject teacher and the human subject teacher', high tension from the classroom and low burden from the teaching' and disorder from the course completing the detailed plan of the school and to cooperate for their duty'

An Analysis on the Effect of School Organizational Characteristics on Students Academic Performance and Educational Growth

이 논문은 학교효과를 밝히고자 했던 선행연구들이 학교 성과에 영향을 주는 다양한 학교변인들을 밝히고있지만, 학교조직의 특성을 보다 잘 드러내기 위해서는 변인의 구성 역시 학교조직 특성에 맞게 구성해야한다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 이를 위해 교육행정학적 시각에서 학교조직의 특성에 초점을 두고 변인을 구성함으로써 학교조직 특성이 학생의 학업성취와 정의적 성장에 주는 영향을 살펴보았다. 분석은 표본선택(sample selection bias)을 조정한 Tobit모형을 이용하였으며, 학교조직 특성이 학생의 학업성취와 정의적 성장에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 추정한 결론은 다음과 같다. 학교조직 특성 변수 모든 영역(교육활동, 구조, 교직원 역량, 학교 풍토, 환경)에서 학생의 학업성취와 정의적 성장에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 결과는 향후 현재 중앙부처나 평가기관, 그리고 단위학교에서 학생의 교육적 성장을 위한 조직개선에 필요한 분야와 방안을 개발하거나 전략적 계획의 수립 등에 활용될 수 있다. Though previous studies on school effectiveness reveal the impact of various variables on school performance, they ought to be re-organized in terms of schools organizational characteristics. From the perspective of educational administration, this study investigates impacts of organizational variables on students educational growth. Censored normal Tobit model is utilized to resolve sample selection bias. Results indicate that organizational variables selected for this study(educational process, structure, personnel capacity, school climate, and internal/external environment) positively influence students academic performance and educational growth.
