The Student Guidance Office 2018 Annual Report
This article reported statistics and some activities in the student guidance office as 2018 annual report. The number of counseling decreased from last year, but it showed higher rate than the average rate of it reported from Japanese Association of Student Counseling. This was assumed to result in the efforts such as the following 1) universal screening assessment using UPI and interview simultaneously, 2) specific support and assistance in response to each student's need as well as counseling and 3) close collaboration with other faculties and staffs. Pain Evaluation During Colonoscopy by the Erythema Index of the Facial Image
[Background] Endoscopy of the digestive tract is useful but is associated with significant pain to the patient. Its safety and tolerability could be improved by an immediate and objective method to evaluate the pain level and give feedback to the examiner. However, under the current circumstances, it is difficult to measure and assess the pain level objectively.[Methods] We previously developed a discomfort assessment device that measures the changes in brain activity caused by changes in the pain level by extracting the changes in the erythema index from facial color data. In this study, to evaluate the usefulness of this discomfort assessment device, the association between the changes in the erythema index of facial images during colonoscopy and the subjective pain level during the examination were evaluated. For the recording of the subjective pain level during the examination, a subjective pain level recording device that we developed to measure grip strength over time was used. The subjective pain level, facial image, and percutaneous venous oxygen saturation during the examination were recorded in 30 patients who underwent colonoscopy at our hospital. [Results] The duration of colonoscopy was divided into the insertion section and the removal section. The subjective pain level was found to be significantly greater during the insertion section than during the removal section, and the changes in the erythema index of the facial images were significantly different between the two groups. [Conclusion] These findings indicate that the erythema index changes on facial images determined by the discomfort assessment device may facilitate objective evaluation of the pain level during colonoscopy.journal articl

Contribution for sputtering due to undeveloped collision cascade
スパッタリングは,薄膜生成,微量分析,イオンエッチングなどに用いられている.スパッタリングの理論的な取り扱いは,固体内での衝突カスケードが十分発達した場合にのみなされており,衝突カスケードが発達しない,低入射エネルギーや軽オン入射の場合は、スパッタリング理論からのずれが考えられる.この理論との違いを評価するために,スパッタリング解析コードACATを用いた.ACATコードはモンテカルロ法と2体衝突近似法を基に,アモルファスターゲットにおけるスパッタリングを解析する.解析結果から,スパッター粒子のエネルギー分布は、軽イオンスパッタリングにおいて理論からのずれが大きくなる.また,角度分布については,固体内での衝突によって入射粒子の運動量がランダマイズされる程度に大きく依存する.The existing theoretical models for sputtering are derived from the general Boltzmann transport equation based on the well developed collision cascade. Experimental results have indicated that the theories describe sputtering phenomenon well in high energy, and nearly unity mass ratio of the projectile to the targetile. However, the collision cascades do not developed well in low-energy and/or light ion injections into metal targets. The reason for observing the deviation from theories is considered in these cases. In order to quantify the deviation, a Monte Carlo simulation code ACAT has been used to calculate sputtering due to low energy and/or light ions incidences. The ACAT code numerically calculates trajectories of atoms colliding in an amorphous target based on the binary collision approximation. The ACAT results have indicated that energy distributions of sputtered atoms were different from Thompson-Sigmund theory due to low-energy light ions incidence.application/pdfdepartmental bulletin pape
Sputtering of liquid metal suspended on an insulating reservoir by radio frequency self-bias
可能な限り不純物の混入を抑えるため,ガラス容器とRF電源により構成される,液体金属スパッター装置を設計・製作した.球形ガラス容器底部には,ターゲット近傍に放電を集中させ,電離を促進するために円筒,及びトロイダル形状の磁石を配置し得る電極が取り付けられる.誘導性プラズマ結合系は,RF電力の気体放電に対する良い結合性を示し,低圧力大RF電力で安定にプラズマを維持する.ガラス容器底部に保持した液体ガリウムが周辺プラズマによりスパッターされていることは,四重極質量分析器により確認された.電子温度の評価は局所熱平衡条件をもとに,線スペクトル発光分析より評価した.A liquid metal sputtering system equipped with a SiO[2] reservoir and a radio frequency (RF) power supply has been designed and built to minimize possible contamination due to sputtering from any materials other than the target material. An electrode fitted with cylindrical and toroidal magnets was designed and mounted at the bottom of the spherical glass chamber in order to confine the discharge near the target and enhance the ionization efficiency. The inductively coupled plasma configuration exhibited good coupling of the RF power to the gas discharge sustained at low gas pressures and high RF powers. Liquid gallium suspended upon the chamber bottom was confirmed sputtered by the surrounding plasma by a quadrupole mass analyzer.
