The Shuku river tourism geography project
4000000581本論文では、夙川の実地調査を通じて実施された学生のエコツーリズム研究プロジェクトとの共同作業の方法とその研究成果を報告するものである。大手前大学キャンパスに隣接した夙川周辺は、地域の環境保全、更には西宮地区におけるエコツーリズム拠点としての可能性をはらんだ美観地域であり、共同研究のケーススタディに公的なサイトでもある夙川の源流からその河口まで、学生たちは法地政学的、地理的特徴を広範囲にわたって観察した。その結果、自然資源の破壊や劣化を自分自身の目で確かめ、環境破壊に対する解決策と持続可能な観光産業をいかに確立するか、ということについて議論を重ねることができたことは特記すべきであろう。本論では、更に、夙川近郊の歴史的遺産や文化遺産の保全を推進する一方、同時に地域のビジネスや産業を振興するということの意味や問題点についての課題についても論述している。This paper reports the methodology and results of a collaborative student ecotourism project undertaken through research and fieldwork using the Shuku river and the immediate environs surrounding the university campus as a case study in the preservation and appreciation of local resources and for potential ecotourism enterprises in the Nishinomiya area. From the source of the Shuku river to its mouth, students observed a broad spectrum of geographical and topographical features, witnessed first-hand both the degradation and restoration of natural resources and discussed methods in which to address environmental damage and promote sustainable tourism. Through this project, students were encouraged to explore the means of stimulating local business and enterprise whilst fostering interest in historic heritage and cultural assets in the vicinity of Otemae University.departmental bulletin pape
Statistical modeling of undertow on a natural beach
To better understand the physical mechanism of undertow, field observations were conducted during barred and planar beach states on the Hasaki coast in Japan. The two observation periods spanned 21 days from May 13 to June 2 in 2016, and 13 days from May 9 to May 22 in 2017, respectively. A horizontal acoustic Doppler current profiler was used to measure the undertow velocity and water level. The observed data were statistically analyzed to investigate the characteristics of the spatial and wave-energetic distributions of the undertow exceedance probability, P-E. The results reveal that when the wave energy flux level was high, the undertow velocity increased, as did its P-E. By contrast, the undertow P-E during a low-wave-energy level decreased with greater water depths. Here, a Weibull distribution was applied to explain P-E of the undertow. The Weibull parameters: scale and shape were estimated by the combination of normalized values of the wave energy flux, relative surf zone locations, and normalized water depths, and this generalized equation was considered a statistical model for estimating undertow P-E. A comparison of the statistical model against the measurement demonstrates that the model accurately predicted the undertow P-E with a small error.journal articl
Laboratory modelling of vertical sediment mixing in the surf zone
A comprehensive set of laboratory experiments were conducted to investigate the spatial distributions of mixing depth in the surf zone. A wooden sandbox of 0.15-m-deep and 1.0-m-long is fabricated and placed in the middle of the bed slope. In the experiments, five different sediment diameters were used and the same diameters of fluorescent sand tracers were sprinkled on the sand bed surface to investigate the mixing depth. After a specific duration of regular wave generation , core samples were taken at six different cross-shore locationsand analyzed the mixing depth. Moreover, the flow velocity field in the surf zone was obtained by using a Large Eddy Simulation model and discussed the relationship with spatial distributions of mixing depth. The results reveal that the mixing depth has cross-shore spatial variation and the maximum mixing depth occurred at the impinging point for all tested sediment diameters. The spatial distributions for each diameter were repeatable; however, the depth decreases in a logarithmic manner from smaller to larger grain size. Furthermore, the spatial distribution of mixing depth is correlated with the bottom root mean square vertical velocity and proposed a new simple mathematical relationship for mixing depth that shows good accuracy with experimental data.journal articl

Utilization of circuit design software in electrical and electronic education
電子回路は半導体の微細化により部品の小型化と高密度実装が進み、手作業での半田付けは少なくなってきている。回路設計、製造、測定評価にいたるまで、CADソフトウェアを使うことが多くなり、大学における教育でも、電磁気学などの数学や実験系の学習だけでなく、PCおよびソフトウェアを使うためのスキルも学ぶ必要があると考える。従来の講義系授業の中で回路設計ソフトウェアを使う演習を課題として出す取組みを進めている。学生の理解度を考慮し、カリキュラムに合わせて1-2年生向けの基礎回路、3-4年生および大学院生向けの応用回路、共同研究や卒業研究として取り組んでいる発展的な回路設計事例を紹介する。使用しているCADはキーサイト・テクノロジー社のAdvanced Design System(ADS)、ケイデンス・デザイン・システムズ社のOrCAD PSpiceで、電気・電子回路設計、無線回路設計、パッチアンテナ設計、アレーアンテナ設計等の授業内容について述べる。
The miniaturization of semiconductors in electronic circuits has led to miniaturization of parts and high density assembly, and the range of manual soldering has decreased. Computers and software are often used in circuit design, manufacturing, and measurement evaluation. In university education, not only learning mathematics and experiments such as electromagnetics, but also skills for using PCs and software should be learned. We are proceeding with efforts to set up exercises using circuit design software as an issue in conventional lecture-based lessons. Introducing basic circuits for 1st and 2nd grade students, applied circuits for 3rd and 4th grade students and graduate students, and advanced circuit design examples that we are working on as joint research and graduation research, considering the degree of understanding of students.
