SOMATIC MUTATION FREQUENCY IN THE STAMEN HAIRS OF TRADESCANTIA KU-7 AND KU-9 CLONES EXPOSED TO LOW-LEVEL GAMMA-RAYS
Two triploid clones (KU 7 and KU 9) of Tradescantia heterozygous for flower color were exposed to 1 to 42.3R of gamma rays or the scattering radiation in the gamma field of the Institute of Radiation . Breeding. Occurrence of somatic pink mutations in the stamen hairs was investigated 10 to 16 (or 14) days after irradiation. The mutation frequency was found to increase linearly with increasing gamma-ray exposure in the both clones, and the frequencies of 0.437 and 0.468 pink mutant events per 103 hairs per R were determined for KU 7 and KU 9, respectively. When the data collected in the present study were analyzed together with those obtained in earlier experiments in the gamma field, linear relationships of the somatic mutation frequency with gamma-ray (2.1 to 201.6R) and scattering radiation (0.72 to 57.6R) exposures were confirmed. Scattering radiation was found to have a genetical efficiency more than two times higher than that of gamma rays. Variation of spontaneous mutation frequency observed in the present study and in earlier studies was inversely correlated to temperature variation.textapplication/pdfjournal articl
成城学園初等学校における「柳田社会科」の実践とその廃止
application/pdf成城学園初等学校(以下、成城小学校)においては、戦後の社会科の開始にあたって、柳田国男の協力のもとに社会科カリキュラムづくりをはじめた。そして、柳田も戦後教育にかける思いを成城小学校における社会科の実践を通して実現していった。また、教科書『日本の社会』の作成にあたっては、教科書単元を成城小学校において実践し、その結果をフィードバックさせていった。そして、改訂されたものをまた、成城小学校において実践していくという、車の両輪のような関係が成立していったのである。 しかし、このような、関係も1962 年度(昭和37 年度)には終焉を迎えた。 では、なぜ「柳田社会科」は成城小学校から姿を消すことになったのであろうか。 本稿では、成城小学校という、柳田にとって、いわば理想ともいえる場における「柳田社会科」の展開と終焉の経緯をさぐっていきたい。このことによって、教師たちに民俗学がどのように理解され、社会科に活かされていったのかを明らかにし、ひいては民俗学を社会科教育に活かしていくことの限界をも明らかにしていきたい。After world war Ⅱ ,Yanagita Kunio decided to practice his idea of education at Seijo GakuenElementary School (i.e.Seijo Elementary School) and started to prepare social studies curriculum in cooperation with Seijo Elementary School. He prepared educational units and lesson plans of the textbook "Japanese society". The teachers in the school used it, submitted feedbacks to him. And he corrected it. This was repeated for many times. At last he was succeeded to prepare the curriculum and became an inseparable with Seijo Elementary School. But this intimate relation with the school was ended in 1962 AD.. In such a situation this article examines the process of progress and end of Yanagita`s Theory of Social Studies in Seijo Elementary School, following these research questions- In what way, the teachers of Seijo elementary school had understood folklore? Rab33a Mediates Anterograde Vesicular Transport for Membrane Exocytosis and Axon Outgrowth
Axon outgrowth requires plasma membrane expansion, which results from post-Golgi vesicular transport and fusion. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating post-Golgi vesicular trafficking for membrane expansion and axon outgrowth remain unclear. Here, we show that Rab33a expression became upregulated during axon outgrowth of cultured rat hippocampal neurons. Rab33a was preferentially localized to the Golgi apparatus and to synaptophysin-positive vesicles that are transported along the growing axon. Previous studies showed that synaptophysin is localized to post-Golgi vesicles transported by fast axonal transport in developing neurons. Reduction of Rab33a expression by RNAi (RNA interference) inhibited the anterograde transport of synaptophysin-positive vesicles, leading to their decrease in axonal tips. Furthermore, this treatment reduced membrane fusion of synaptophysin-positive vesicles at the growth cones and inhibited axon outgrowth. Overexpression of Rab33a, on the other hand, induced excessive accumulation of synaptophysin-positive vesicles and concurrent formation of surplus axons. These data suggest that Rab33a participates in axon outgrowth by mediating anterograde axonal transport of synaptophysin-positive vesicles and their concomitant fusion at the growth cones.journal articl
Verbal counting while walking stabilize gait rhythm? : application to lower-physical-fitness elderly
本研究では、19名の介護認定者を含む低体力高齢者を対象に歩行中の自らの掛け声が歩行リズムを改善するか否かを検討した。参加者は自身で決めたペースで4分間連続して歩行するように案内された。ストライド間隔は参加者の靴の中に設置されたフットスイッチで得られ、フラクタル指数が計算された。低体力高齢者の掛け声なし歩行の平均αは0.69であった。この値は健常な成人を対象とした我々の先行研究の値よりも低く、低体力高齢者の歩行リズムが不安定であることを意味している。参加者全体では、歩行中の掛け声の有無におけるαに有意な差はなかった。本研究では、参加者をαの中央値で二群に分けて、二元配置分散分析を実施した(交互作用:p = 0.055)。α低値群では、自身の掛け声により歩行におけるαが増加した(0.57 ± 0.08 → 0.63 ± 0.18)。したがって、歩行中の自らの掛け声は低体力高齢者の歩行リズムを安定させるかもしれない。This study was conducted on 19 lower-physical-fitness elderly including people with long-term care certification (76.7 ± 8.5 years), investigating whether their own verbal count while walking improves their gait rhythm. Participants were instructed to walk continuously at a self-determined pace for 4 min. Stride interval was obtained using footswitches set in the participants' shoes, and then fractal scaling index (α) were calculated. The mean α while walking without verbal counting in lower-physical fitness elderly was 0.69. This value was lower than that of our previous study for healthy adults (0.84), indicating that gait rhythm in the lower-physical fitness elderly was unstable. There was no significant difference in α between walking with and without own verbal counting in all participants. In the present study, participants were divided into two groups by median α, and two-way analysis of variance was carried out (interaction: p = 0.055). In the lower α group, own verbal counting increased α while walking (0.57 ± 0.08 → 0.63 ± 0.18). Therefore, own verbal counting while walking may stabilize gait rhythm in lower-physical fitness elderly.application/pdfdepartmental bulletin pape
