An Examination on Identifying a Number of Decoy Web Sites through Tor Anonymity Networks with SVM
The Onion Routing (Tor) is the most famous anonymity system supporting the anonymous transport of TCP over the Internet. Tor provides to communicate over public network without compromising the privacy of people. However, in some cases, Tor is used by abusing users for the antisocial purpose. As a countermeasure against this problem, a method to identify the abusing user has been proposed. The method enable to identify the abusing user PC on analyzing traffics between the abusing user PC and the decoy web site. In this paper, we propose a method to discriminate a number of the decoy web sites from others with SVM(Support Vector Machine) analysis, and evaluate our proposal method effective using 9 samples sites.departmental bulletin pape

An Examination on Countermeasure toward Fingerprinting Attack on the Tor Anonymity System
Tor is the most famous anonymity system supporting the anonymous transport of TCP stream over the Internet. Tor provides the foundation for applications to communicate over public network without compromising their privacy. However, it cannot completely hide the size of the contents and the timing of transmission of packets. Fingerprinting attack uses these features to infer the website being accessed by the specific client, and it has become a serious threat against Tor. In this article, we propose a new countermeasure toward the fingerprinting attacks and examine the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.departmental bulletin pape
An Examination on the Dynamic Routing for Evacuation Guidance Systems using Wireless Sensor Networks
In recent years, the huge building in the city has increased. When encountering a disaster such as an earthquake or fire in a building, we need to evacuate quickly. In this paper, we propose an evacuation guidance system using sensor networks and Augmented Reality (AR) technology and examine the dynamic routing for our system. In the proposed system, when a disaster occurred, the sensor network constructs a route from each node to the sink-node, excluding nodes detecting the abnormal situation shown on the mobile devices by using AR technology.departmental bulletin pape
An Examination on the Abusing User Identification Method of the Tor Anonymity System
The Onion Routing (Tor) is the most famous anonymity system supporting the anonymous transport of TCP stream over the Internet. Tor provides the foundation for applications to communicate over public network without compromising their privacy. However, in some cases, it is used by abusing users, for the antisocial purpose. This has prevented the increase of "good" user of the Tor system. In this article, we propose a method for identification of the abusing user of the Tor anonymity system. In the proposed method, Tor system cooperate with Web sites that simulate sites dealing with illegal information, and uses the fingerprint information of the Web sites to identify the users accessing the sites.departmental bulletin pape
Integrated genomics-based mapping reveals the genetics underlying maize flavonoid biosynthesis
Background:Flavonoids constitute a diverse class of secondary metabolites which exhibit potent bioactivities for human health and have been indicated to play an important role in plant development and defense. However, accumulation and variation of flavonoid content in diverse maize lines and the genes responsible for their biosynthesis in this important crop remain largely unknown. In this study, we combine genetic mapping, metabolite profiling and gene regulatory network analysis to further enhance understanding of the maize flavonoid pathway. Results:We repeatedly detected 25 QTL corresponding to 23 distinct flavonoids across different environments or populations. In addition, a total of 39 genes were revealed both by an expression based network analysis and genetic mapping. Finally, the function of three candidate genes, including two UDP-glycosyltransferases (UGT) and an oxygenase which belongs to the flavone synthase super family, was revealed via preliminary molecular functional characterization. Conclusion:We explored the genetic influences on the flavonoid biosynthesis based on integrating the genomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic information which provided a rich source of potential candidate genes. The integrated genomics based genetic mapping strategy is highly efficient for defining the complexity of functional genetic variants and their respective regulatory networks as well as in helping to select candidate genes and allelic variance before embarking on laborious transgenic validations.journal articl
BACKGROUND The expression and distribution of gap junctions in cardiac muscle can be changed readily under a variety of pathological conditions because of dynamic turnover of connexins. The effects of rapid electrical stimulation (RES) of contraction on the gap junction remodeling are not well-understood. METHODS Neonatal rat ventricular myocytes cultured for 5 days were subjected to RES at 3.0 Hz for up to 120 min. RESULTS RES resulted in a significant upregulation of Cx43. Angiotensin II content was increased significantly by RES>15 min. Phosphorylated forms of extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK), c-Jun NH_2-terminal kinases (JNK) and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPKs) were all increased dramatically by RES with peaks at 5~60 min. Propagation of excitation was visualized by extracellular potential mapping by using a multiple electrode array system. Conduction velocity was increased significantly by RES for 60 to 90 min. Treatment of myocytes with losartan prevented most of these effects of RES. RES-induced upregulation of Cx43 was also prevented by specific inhibitors for ERK and p38 MAPKs. CONCLUSIONS A short-term RES causes upregulation of Cx43 in cardiomyocytes and a concomitant increase of conduction velocity mainly through an autocrine action of Angiotensin II to activate ERK and p38 MAPKs.(小西賞受賞者)(Konishi Prize)journal articl
