旋回噴霧における液滴径及び速度三成分の同時計測
A combined technique of simultaneous measurements of size and 3D velocity components of droplets in a spray has been proposed. This technique is, based on the optical technique of glare points observation and stereoscopic PIV (SPIV). The size of droplet is obtained by the interval of the glare points generated by the direct reflection and the 1st refraction from the droplet illuminated by Nd:YAG laser (532nm). The 3D velocity components of droplets are measured by using SPIV based on the images of distribution of the glare points. The optical arrangement for this simultaneous measurement has been devised and the feasibility and capability of the technique was confirmed by applying to size and velocity field measurements of a spray issuing from a swirl fuel nozzle being used in a gas turbine.textapplication/pdfdepartmental bulletin pape
Effects of Si Dopant Gas Flow Sequence on Electrical Properties of GaAsN Films Grown by ALE
The effects of Si dopant gas flow sequence on electrical properties of GaAsN films have been investigated. The Si-doped and non-doped GaAsN films were grown on semi-insulating GaAs(001) substrate at substrate temperatures of 480, 500 and 520 oC by atomic layer epitaxy (ALE). The non-doped GaAsN films grown by ALE were p-type due to residual carbon atoms worked as acceptor. The Si doped films were also p-type, however carrier density and mobility were smaller than those of the non-doped films. The difference on carrier density between non-doped and Si-doped films was consistent with Si concenteration in the films. Decrease of carrier mobility could be explained by increasing ionized scattering caused by Si. These suggested that Si atoms worked as donor.departmental bulletin pape
Solar neutrino measurements in Super-Kamiokande-II
The results of the second phase of the Super-Kamiokande solar neutrino measurement are presented and compared to the first phase. The solar neutrino flux spectrum and time variation as well as oscillation results are statistically consistent with the first phase and do not show spectral distortion. The timedependent flux measurement of the combined first and second phases coincides with the full period of solar cycle 23 and shows no correlation with solar activity. The measured 8B total flux is (2:38± 0.05(stat.)/begin+0.16 // -0.15/end (sys.)) × 10^6 cm^{-2} s^{-1} and the day-night difference is found to be (-6.3 ±4.2(stat.)±3.7(sys.))%.There is no evidence of systematic tendencies between the first and second phases.journal articl
Low-loss polystyrene core-optical fibers
Low‐loss plastic optical fibers (POF) have been prepared with the attenuation loss of 114 dB/km at the wavelength of 670 nm employing polystylene core and ethylene‐vinylacetate copolymer cladding. The POF can allow the use for short‐distance optical signal transmission. The theoretical loss limit of polystylene core POF is calculated to be 70 dB/km at 670 nm.journal articl
