Nursing Approach of Disaster Preparedness for Brazilian mothers with children in Japan

This study aimed to examine the ideal nursing approach to improve the disaster preparedness of Japanese and Brazilian mothers with infants and children under 4 years of age in Japan. The results showed that the proportion of Brazilian who possessed their own house and participated in their neighborhood association was lower than that of Japanese. This study also found that a few Brazilian were concerned about availability of transportation, information, and medical care. Because these Brazilian were living in Japan for economic reasons, their interactions with the Japanese community were limited or rare. If any disaster were to happen, it is doubtful if they would be able to save themselves due to their lack of a support system in the Japanese community. Hence, it is necessary to create a suitable intervention program regarding disaster preparedness for Brazilian and to evaluate its effects.2016年度~2018年度科学研究費補助金(基盤研究(C))研究成果報告書16K12334research repor

Variation in the integration sites for Stx phages and LEE islands in O157 and non-O157 EHEC strains

    No full text
Locations of the Stx phages and the LEE islands on each chromosome are shown. Integration sites of Stx2 phages in O157 strain 3, O26 strain 8, and O111 strain 3, and those of Stx1 phages in O111 strains 1, 4, 5, and 6, and O103 strain 3 are unknown. Schematic presentation of newly identified integration sites for Stx phages. DNA sequences of left or right junctions for each integration site are also shown. (b) The -intergenic region in O103 strains 1, 2, 4, and 6. The and genes encode a sensor for a two-component regulatory system and a periplasmic protein of unknown function, respectively. The right junction was not identified. (c) The region in O157 strain 8 and O103 strain 5. The gene encodes an arginine tRNA. (d) The region in O111 strains 2 and 3. The gene encodes the tmRNA. The right junction was not identified. (e) The gene in O103 strain 5. The gene encodes the peptide chain release factor (RF-3). Integration of Stx1 phage into the gene changes the amino acid sequence of a short amino-terminal region of RF-3, and removes the authentic ribosome binding site and promoter sequences. It is not known whether the gene is transcribed and/or translated in the strain. The gene, however, is not listed as an essential gene of [24].<p><b>Copyright information:</b></p><p>Taken from "Extensive genomic diversity and selective conservation of virulence-determinants in enterohemorrhagic strains of O157 and non-O157 serotypes"</p><p>http://genomebiology.com/2007/8/7/R138</p><p>Genome Biology 2007;8(7):R138-R138.</p><p>Published online 10 Jul 2007</p><p>PMCID:PMC2323221.</p><p></p

Conservation of 'Sakai-specific' singleton genes in each functional group

    No full text
'Sakai-specific' singleton genes were categorized according to the COG classification. In each functional category, the numbers of genes fully conserved, variably absent or present, and fully absent are shown for each serotype.<p><b>Copyright information:</b></p><p>Taken from "Extensive genomic diversity and selective conservation of virulence-determinants in enterohemorrhagic strains of O157 and non-O157 serotypes"</p><p>http://genomebiology.com/2007/8/7/R138</p><p>Genome Biology 2007;8(7):R138-R138.</p><p>Published online 10 Jul 2007</p><p>PMCID:PMC2323221.</p><p></p
