Inflaton field governed universe from NKK theory of gravity: stochastic approach
We study a nonperturbative single field (inflaton) governed cosmological
model from a 5D Noncompact Kaluza-Klein (NKK) theory of gravity. The inflaton
field fluctuations are estimated for different epochs of the evolution of the
universe. We conclude that the inflaton field has been sliding down its
(quadratic) potential hill along all the evolution of the universe and a mass
of the order of the Hubble parameter. In the model here developed the only free
parameter is the Hubble parameter, which could be reconstructed in future from
Super Nova Acceleration Probe (SNAP) data.Comment: accepted in European Physical Journal
Operator product expansion and quark condensate from Lattice QCD in coordinate space
We present a Lattice QCD determination of the chiral quark condensate based
on a new method. We extract the quark condensate from the operator product
expansion of the quark propagator at short euclidean distances, where it
represents the leading contribution in the chiral limit. From this study we
obtain ^ms(2 GeV)=-(265+-5+-22 MeV)^3$, in good agreement with
determinations of this quantity based on different approaches. The simulation
is performed by using the O(a)-improved Wilson action at beta=6.45 on a volume
32^3\times70 in the quenched approximation
Reconclining phi radiative decays with other data for a0(980), fo(980), pi-pi -> KK and pi-pi -> eta-eta
Data for phi -> gamma (eta-pizero) are analysed using the KK loop model and
compared with parameters of a0(980) derived from Crystal Barrel data. The
eta-pi mass spectrum agrees closely and the absolute normalisation lies just
within errors. However, BES parameters for fo(980) predict a normalisation for
phi -> gamma (pizero-pizero) at least a factor 2 lower than is observed. This
discrepancy may be eliminated by including constructive interference between
fo(980) and sigma. The magnitude required for sigma -> KK is consistent with
data on pi-pi -> KK. A dispersion relation analysis by Buttiker, Descotes-Genon
and Moussallam of pi-pi -> KK leads to a similar conclusion. Data on pi-pi ->
eta-eta also require decays of sigma to eta-eta. Four sets of pi-pi -> KK data
all require a small but definite fo(1370) signal.Comment: 21 pages, 11 figures, Small rearrangement of reference
