The Eeffect of Soaking on the Soluble Oxalic Acid Content of Spinach
Oxalic acid is a primary risk factor of kidney stones. Leafy vegetables such as spinach are known to moderate amounts of soluble and insoluble oxalic acid. The effect of soaking practices on reduction of soluble oxalic acid content of spinach leaf was evaluated by measuring oxalic acid eluted into tap water using ion chromatography. There was a large effect of more than 70オ on soaking for 60min at 80℃. Soaking spinach leaves at high temperature was an effective way of reducing the soluble oxalic acid content.departmental bulletin pape
The Study of Autonomous Vehicle with the Method in Objects Recognition Using Stereo Vision by Two Cameras
publisherThis paper discusses the method of measuring objects position on the coordinates of the autonomous vehicle on the basis of visual information. We use two CCD cameras on the omni-directional vehicle and calculate the position of the objects to obtain the visual information. And we propose the method to detect and avoid objects. As the purpose of this paper is to show the basic calculating method, we use some simple objects of ball, column, and cone. Concrete contents are as follows: 1. Discriminant criteria thresholding, binarization and edge detection by the Robinson operator. 2. Measurement object positions using template machine on the pair stereo images. 3. Calculation of the guiding path approaching or avoiding the objects.departmental bulletin pape

Umbilical Venous Catheter Update: A Narrative Review Including Ultrasound and Training
The umbilical venous catheter (UVC) is one of the most commonly used central lines in neonates. It can be easily inserted soon after birth providing stable intravenous access in infants requiring advanced resuscitation in the delivery room or needing medications, fluids, and parenteral nutrition during the 1st days of life. Resident training is crucial for UVC placement. The use of simulators allows trainees to gain practical experience and confidence in performing the procedure without risks for patients. UVCs are easy to insert, however when the procedure is performed without the use of ultrasound, there is a quite high risk, up to 40%, of non-central position. Ultrasound-guided UVC tip location is a simple and learnable technique and therefore should be widespread among all physicians. The feasibility of targeted training on the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for UVC placement in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) among neonatal medical staff has been demonstrated. Conversely, UVC-related complications are very common and can sometimes be life-threatening. Despite UVCs being used by neonatologists for over 60 years, there are still no standard guidelines for assessment or monitoring of tip location, securement, management, or dwell time. This review article is an overview of the current knowledge and evidence available in the literature about UVCs. Our aim is to provide precise and updated recommendations on the use of this central line
ECHOTIP: A structured protocol for ultrasound-based tip navigation and tip location during placement of central venous access devices in adult patients
Central venous access devices are routinely used in clinical practice for administration of fluids and medications, for drawing blood samples and for hemodynamic monitoring. The adoption of ultrasound guided venipuncture has significantly reduced procedure-related complications, as documented by the recommendations of most recent guidelines. Ultrasound has also an important role also in other aspects of central venous catheterization, such as in the pre-procedural evaluation of the venous patrimony and in the detection of early and late non-infective complications. Recently, bedside ultrasound has been regarded as a promising tool also for ensuring an accurate and intraprocedural method of tip navigation and tip location. The aim of this paper is to review all the evidence about the accuracy of ultrasound methods for tip navigation and tip location in adult patients, and to suggest a structured standardized protocol for clinical practice

journal articl
