    Acute Renal Infarction. A Case Report

    Renal infarction is a rare disease often overlooked due to its very unspecific clinical presentation. We report the particular case of an idiopathic bilateral acute renal infarction occurring in a young adult male. The diagnostic delay in our patient is significant: ten days. However, a Doppler ultrasound allows screening. The diagnosis of certainty is made by the angioCT scan: essential examination to make the lesional balance sheet and to evaluate the prognosis on the renal function. Anticoagulant treatment is the treatment of choice provided it is instituted early

    The relationship between quality of life and chronic illness is clearly established, the evaluation of the latter is necessary for overall care of these patients, the SF36 is a good tool dedicated to this purpose. Our study, although limited by its single-center nature, sheds light on the impact of pathologies encountered in internal medicine hospitalization on quality of life. Our series includes 41 patients with a slight female predominance: 22 women and 19 men. The average age is 48 years old. Thus, it appears that, just like cancer, diabetes and connective tissue disease significantly reduce the quality of life of patients

    Cardiovascular Involvement in Behçet Disease

    Behçet's disease is a disease with mixed vascular tropism: venous and arterial. Vasculo-Behçet or angio-Behçet presents a particular patient profile. Vascular involvement, especially pulmonary artery aneurysm, thoracic aortic aneurysm and Budd Chiari syndrome are entities affiliated with the disease and strike the prognosis. Our series is predominantly male, with an average age of 36 years. Venous disease concerns the majority of patients: 40 patients. It is most often a deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs. In the arterial system, the pulmonary artery aneurysm was found in 7 patients, the most common location of aneurysms. The association of venous and arterial involvement is more important. Corticosteroid therapy is prescribed in three out of four patients. Immunosuppressive treatment such as azathioprine or cyclophosphamide are prescribed in almost half of patients with venous involvement

    Breast tissue imaging atlas using ultra-fast confocal microscopy to identify cancer lesions

    New generation ultra-fast fluorescence confocal microscopy (UFCM) allows to image histological architecture of fresh breast tissue and may be used for ex vivo intraoperative analysis for margin status. The criteria to identify breast tumoral and non-tumoral tissues in UFCM images are still objects of investigation. The objective of the study was to create an atlas of ex vivo UFCM images of breast tissues and breast carcinomas based on the first extensive collection of large field-of-view UFCM breast images. One hundred sixty patients who underwent conserving surgery for breast cancer were included. Their fresh surgical specimens were sliced, stained with acridine orange, and imaged at high resolution with large-field-of-view UFCM. The resulting images were digitally false colored to resemble frozen sections. Each UFCM image was correlated with the corresponding definitive histology. Representative images of normal tissue, inflammation, benign lesions, invasive carcinoma (IC), and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) were collected. A total of 320 large-field images were recorded from 58 IC of no special type, 44 invasive lobular carcinomas, 1 invasive mucinous carcinoma, 47 DCIS, 2 lobular carcinomas in situ, and 8 specimens without cancer. Representative images of the main components of the normal breast and the main types of ICs and DCIS were annotated to establish an UFCM atlas. UFCM enables the imaging of the fresh breast tissue sections. Main morphological criteria defined in traditional histopathology such as tissue architecture and cell features can be applied to describe UFCM images content. The generated atlas of the main normal or tumoral tissue features will support the adoption of this optical technology for the intraoperative examination of breast specimens in clinical practice as it can be used to train physicians on UFCM images and develop artificial intelligence algorithms.     Do to the fluctuations associated with the critical region of fluids. The behavior of thermodynamic properties these can not be predicted by mean field theories. To do so, a global equation of state based on the crossover model has been used. This equation of state is formulated on the basis of comparison of selected measurements of pressure-density-temperature data, isochoric and isobaric heat capacity of fluids.The model can be applied in a wide range of temperatures and densities around the critical point for ethane and methane. It is found that the developed model represents most of the reliable experimental data accurately
