Securely Outsourcing Large Scale Eigen Value Problem to Public Cloud

Cloud computing enables clients with limited computational power to economically outsource their large scale computations to a public cloud with huge computational power. Cloud has the massive storage, computational power and software which can be used by clients for reducing their computational overhead and storage limitation. But in case of outsourcing, privacy of client's confidential data must be maintained. We have designed a protocol for outsourcing large scale Eigen value problem to a malicious cloud which provides input/output data security, result verifiability and client's efficiency. As the direct computation method to find all eigenvectors is computationally expensive for large dimensionality, we have used power iterative method for finding the largest Eigen value and the corresponding Eigen vector of a matrix. For protecting the privacy, some transformations are applied to the input matrix to get encrypted matrix which is sent to the cloud and then decrypting the result that is returned from the cloud for getting the correct solution of Eigen value problem. We have also proposed result verification mechanism for detecting robust cheating and provided theoretical analysis and experimental result that describes high-efficiency, correctness, security and robust cheating resistance of the proposed protocol

The study presents the effects of Albizia saman (Jacq. Mull) leaves in a biomass transfer as a source of organic fertilizer on the soil chemical properties and vegetative growth of maize (Zea mays) compared with NPK (15-15-15) in greenhouse condition. Albizia saman leaves and NPK (15-15-15) were applied at the rate of 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 t/ha or 60, 90 and 120 kg/ha respectively, separately or in combination. The findings revealed that application of 2.5 t/ha A. saman leaves produced the maximum values for mean leaf number, leaf area and stem height (7.77, 212.24 cm2 and 49.67 cm, respectively) among the leaf much treatments but were not significantly different from those obtained by applying 90 kg/ha NPK fertilizer (7.86, 225.55 cm2 and 48.78 cm, respectively). However, the maximum number of leaf (8.4), leaf area (240.5 cm2), plant height (54.64 cm) and biomass (16.17 g) were obtained from the combination of 2.5 t/ha leaves with 90 kg/ha NPK. There was significant improvement in the soil chemical status with the application of 2.5 or 5.0 t/ha A. saman leaves whereas the application of 5.0 t/ha A. saman leaves experienced the highest value for organic carbon (3.56%), total nitrogen (0.23%) and potassium (0.16 mg/kg) and 2.5 t/ha leaves gave the highest value for available phosphorus (22.30 mg/kg). It can, therefore, be inferred that the application of 2.5 t/ha A. saman leaves as source of organic fertilizer will give a better growth of maize and the combination of this quantity with 90 kg/ha of NPK would give better results in crop yield and maintenance of soil fertility

The 10 June 2012 (UTC 12:44:17.3; lat. 36.441°N, long. 28.904°E, Mw6.0) earthquake sequence, 60 km to the west of Rodos Island, is studied, in an attempt to shed light to the obscure deformation pattern at the easternmost end of the Hellenic Arc. Moment tensor solutions for the mainshock and the strongest aftershocks revealed the operation of WNW-ESE dextral strike-slip faulting, with slip vector at~N295°E, approximately orthogonal to the GPS velocity vectors. The strike of the activated structure generally aligns with bathymetric linear escarpments observed in the region, bordering the eastern section of the Rodos basin. The best constrained focal depths are in the range 10 to 25 km, with the mainshock at the depth of 24 km.The slip model for the mainshock, obtained through a finite-fault inversion scheme, showed that slip was mainly concentrated in a single patch, with the locus of peak slip (~125 cm) located ~ 4km to the NW of the hypocenter. The sequence which lies in the western continuation of the Fethiye – Burdur sinistral strike-slip zone into theAegean Sea and Rodos basin, is not connected with activation of this zone. Its characteristics comply with the activation of a dextral strike-slip structure, oblique to this zone, which accommodates along – arc NE-SW extension.

This study aimed to compare the effect of hCG or GnRH administered 36 h following a short-term estrus synchronization treatment on the ovulation time and pregnancy rates of Merino ewes during the breeding season. The estrus cycles of ewes were synchronized with an intravaginal sponge containing 60 mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate for 6 days, and an injection of 400 IU of eCG and 125 µg of d-cloprostenol 24 h before sponge removal. Thirty-six h after the sponge removal, ewes were injected intramuscularly either 1 ml of physiological saline solution (control-group; n=14), 100 IU of hCG (hCG-group; n=14) or 0.004 mg of buserelin acetate (GnRH-group; n=14). The estrus behavior was observed using teaser rams and the ovulation time was monitored using transrectal ultrasonography twice daily for 96 h after the sponge removal. Ewes in estrus were allowed a single mating using fertile rams. Estrus response was higher (P<0.05) in the control group (92.86%) than in the GnRH group (50.00%). The interval from sponge removal to ovulation and from hCG to ovulation were shorter in the control group than in the hCG group (70.55, 80.83 h; 34.55, 44.83 h, respectively, P<0.05). In conclusion, administration of hCG or GnRH at 36 h following a short-term estrus synchronization protocol did not affect estrus behaviors, ovarian findings and pregnancy rates in ewes during the breeding season

During dry season, physico-chemical properties of waters from 30 ponds of Thakugaon Sadar Upazila, Thakurgaon, Bangladesh were analyzed for its quality and suitability for aquaculture. The variation in the physico-chemical parameters of the aquaculture ponds above or below standard values has potential effects on the health and productivity of aquaculture. Overall, we found that the pond water were acidic to neutral in nature (pH varied from 6.0 to 7.2) and could be suitable for aquaculture. The dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration was suitable for fish production but more DO level should be present for all aquatic life especially for fish production. Chemical oxygen demands (COD) of all pond waters were within the permissible limits for fish production. The temperature values were remained within the standard values in all the aquaculture ponds. Pond water samples contained Ca2+, Mg2+ and Na+ as the dominant cations and HCO3- and Cl- were the dominant anions. All samples were within soft class regarding hardness. Based on Zn2+, Mn2+, Fe3+, SO42-, NO3- and Cl- all pond water samples were within the safe limit for fish production during dry period. Int. J. Agril. Res. This study aimed to compare the effect of hCG administered at 24 or 36 h following a short-term estrus synchronization treatment on the ovulation time and estrus parameters in non-lactating Saanen goats during the breeding season. The estrous cycles of does were synchronized with an intravaginal sponge containing 60 mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate (MAP) for six days, and an injection of 125 µg of d-cloprostenol at the time of sponge insertion in addition to an injection of 300 IU of eCG 24h before sponge removal. After removal of the sponges, does were injected intramuscularly either 1 ml physiological saline (0.9% NaCl) solution after 12 h (Group1/Control; n=10), 100 IU hCG after 24 h (Group2; n=9) or 100 IU hCG after 36 h (Group3; n=9).  Estrus behavior after sponge removal was observed twice daily for 84 h using teaser bucks and transrectal ovarian ultrasonography was performed twice a day for seven days to determine small, medium and large follicle numbers, luteal development and the time of ovulation. Blood samples were collected on the same days to determine serum progesterone (P4) and estradiol (E2) concentrations. No significant differences were observed in terms of estrus parameters, ovarian structure and serum P4 and E2 concentrations between the hCG-treated groups and the control group. Average values observed for all groups: estrous response (53.57%), the interval from sponge removal to estrus and ovulation (35.2 h and 67.86 h, respectively), duration of estrus (18.4 h), the interval from estrus onset to ovulation (50.37 h), ovulation rate (96.43%), number of ovulations (1.36), ovulatory follicle diameter (6.86 mm), corpus luteum diameter (8.22 mm), follicle and luteal growth rate (1.17 and 0.68 mm/day, respectively). In conclusion, administration of hCG at 24 or 36 h following a short-term estrous synchronization protocol does not affect ovulation time, estrus parameters, and serum P4 and E2 concentrations in goats during the breeding season

Altered sensory neuron development in CMT2D mice is site-specific and linked to increased GlyRS levels

Dominant, missense mutations in the widely and constitutively expressed GARS1 gene cause a peripheral neuropathy that usually begins in adolescence and principally impacts the upper limbs. Caused by a toxic gain-of-function in the encoded glycyl-tRNA synthetase (GlyRS) enzyme, the neuropathology appears to be independent of the canonical role of GlyRS in aminoacylation. Patients display progressive, life-long weakness and wasting of muscles in hands followed by feet, with frequently associated deficits in sensation. When dysfunction is observed in motor and sensory nerves, there is a diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2D (CMT2D), or distal hereditary motor neuropathy type V if the symptoms are purely motor. The cause of this varied sensory involvement remains unresolved, as are the pathomechanisms underlying the selective neurodegeneration characteristic of the disease. We have previously identified in CMT2D mice that neuropathy-causing Gars mutations perturb sensory neuron fate and permit mutant GlyRS to aberrantly interact with neurotrophin receptors (Trks). Here, we extend this work by interrogating further the anatomy and function of the CMT2D sensory nervous system in mutant Gars mice, obtaining several key results: 1) sensory pathology is restricted to neurons innervating the hindlimbs; 2) perturbation of sensory development is not common to all mouse models of neuromuscular disease; 3) in vitro axonal transport of signalling endosomes is not impaired in afferent neurons of all CMT2D mouse models; and 4) Gars expression is selectively elevated in a subset of sensory neurons and linked to sensory developmental defects. These findings highlight the importance of comparative neurological assessment in mouse models of disease and shed light on key proposed neuropathogenic mechanisms in GARS1-linked neuropathy

Predicting Expressibility of Parameterized Quantum Circuits using Graph Neural Network

Parameterized Quantum Circuits (PQCs) are essential to quantum machine learning and optimization algorithms. The expressibility of PQCs, which measures their ability to represent a wide range of quantum states, is a critical factor influencing their efficacy in solving quantum problems. However, the existing technique for computing expressibility relies on statistically estimating it through classical simulations, which requires many samples. In this work, we propose a novel method based on Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for predicting the expressibility of PQCs. By leveraging the graph-based representation of PQCs, our GNN-based model captures intricate relationships between circuit parameters and their resulting expressibility. We train the GNN model on a comprehensive dataset of PQCs annotated with their expressibility values. Experimental evaluation on a four thousand random PQC dataset and IBM Qiskit's hardware efficient ansatz sets demonstrates the superior performance of our approach, achieving a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.03 and 0.06, respectively
