Studi Transpor Sedimen Lithogeneus di Perairan Muara Sungai Dumai Provinsi Riau
The study was conducted in January 2016 in the estuary of Dumai River, Province of Riau Indonesia, aims to determine the amount of the lithogeneus sediment, which flow through the Dumai River, and were deposited in the Estuary Dumai River. The estuary were divided into eight (8) sampling point. The result of this study showed that the Estuary of Dumai River is influenced by the water mass flow through the River (13.81 m3/s) which supply the lithogeneus sediment as much 4,644.03 gr/s or 165.6 tons/year and are deposited 0,0175 gr/cm2/day or 6,3 gr/cm2/year
Analysis Distribution of Sea Surface Temperature and Chlorophyll-a Concentration in Belawan Medan North Sumatra
Sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a are important water qualityparameter in the sea, especially the coastal areas. The research was conducted inJanuary - March 2017 in the waters of Belawan, North Sumatera Province with theaim to determine the relationship of sea surface temperature and chlorophyllconcentrations-a.The method used is survey with direct measurements in the watersof Belawan, North Sumatera and using MODIS Aqua satellite image data in March2016 - February 2017. Sea surface temperature MODIS Aqua satellite image datain March 2016 - February 2017 ranged from 29.45 to 31.7oC and chlorophyll-arange of 0.48 to 2.62 mg / l. Field data sea surface temperature ranges from 26-30°Cand chlorophyll-a range of 2.08 to 17.62 mg / l. Interpretation of the data from theMODIS Aqua satellite imagery and field data to explain that the sea surfacetemperature and chlorophyll concentrations-a very weak, r = 0.1791. Data weremapped to show the variability of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-aconcentrations March 2016 until February 2017
Damage identification in a concrete beam using curvature difference ratio
Previous studies utilising changes in mode shape or curvature to locate damage rely on the fact that the greatest change occurs around the defect. However, in concrete beams this fact is undermined due to the nature of the defect as distributed multi-site cracks. In addition, differences in mode shape and curvature as ways to locate the damage is unstable because of occurrence of modal nodes and inflection points. In this paper, one interesting solution to this problem is being tested by establishing a new non-dimensional expression designated the 'Curvature Difference Ratio (CDR)'. This parameter exploits the ratio of differences in curvature of a specific mode shape for a damaged stage and another reference stage. The expression CDR is reasonably used to locate the damage and estimate the dynamic bending stiffness in a successively loaded 6m concrete beam. Results obtained by the proposed technique are tested and validated with a case study results done by Ren and De Roeck [1] also by Maeck and De Roeck [2]. Another contribution of this work is that relating changes in vibration properties to the design bending moment at beam sections as defined in Eurocode 2 specifications [3]. Linking between a beam section condition and the change in vibration data will help to give a better comprehension on the beam condition than the applied load
Pengaruh Kecepatan Arus, Cepat Rambat Gelombang, dan Ukuran Partikel Sedimen terhadap Volume Angkutan Sedimen
This study was conducted from March to April 2016 in the Laboratory of PhysicalOceanography Marine Science Department Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science University ofRiau. This study aimed to explain a relationship between current velocity and wave propagationspeed, and sediment particle size to the results of sediment transport volume. The method used wasan experimental design with 4 treatments. Current velocity and wave propagation speed wereconsists of 2 level factors (V1 and V2) and sediment particle size were consists of 2 level factors(D1 and D2). Observations used the flume tank and wave generator for 10 minutes. The resultsshow that there was an effect of current velocity, wave propagation, and sediment particle size tosediment transport volume. If the current velocity increase so sediment transport volume alsoincreased. While if sediment particle size increase the sediment transport volume decreased.Observations in the laboratory and calculation of sediment transport that used an Engelund-Hansenformula showed differences. Differences caused by oceanographic factors such as water andsediment density, gravity, water depth, salinity and consistency
