On skew tau-functions in higher spin theory
Recent studies of higher spin theory in three dimensions concentrate on
Wilson loops in Chern-Simons theory, which in the classical limit reduce to
peculiar corner matrix elements between the highest and lowest weight states in
a given representation of SL(N). Despite these "skew" tau-functions can seem
very different from conventional ones, which are the matrix elements between
the two highest weight states, they also satisfy the Toda recursion between
different fundamental representations. Moreover, in the most popular examples
they possess simple representations in terms of matrix models and Schur
functions. We provide a brief introduction to this new interesting field,
which, after quantization, can serve as an additional bridge between knot and
integrability theories.Comment: 36 page
Quantum walks of interacting fermions on a cycle graph
Quantum walks have been employed widely to develop new tools for quantum
information processing recently. A natural quantum walk dynamics of interacting
particles can be used to implement efficiently the universal quantum
computation. In this work quantum walks of electrons on a graph are studied.
The graph is composed of semiconductor quantum dots arranged in a circle.
Electrons can tunnel between adjacent dots and interact via Coulomb repulsion,
which leads to entanglement. Fermionic entanglement dynamics is obtained and
evaluated
FMCW rail-mounted SAR: Porting spotlight SAR imaging from MATLAB to FPGA
In this work, a low-cost laptop-based radar platform derived from the MIT open courseware has been implemented. It can perform ranging, Doppler measurement and SAR imaging using MATLAB as the processor. In this work, porting the signal processing algorithms onto a FPGA platform will be addressed as well as differences between results obtained using MATLAB and those obtained using the FPGA platform. The target FPGA platforms were a Virtex6 DSP kit and Spartan3A starter kit, the latter was also low-cost to further reduce the cost for students to access radar technology
Half-Twisted Correlators from the Coulomb Branch
We compute correlators of chiral operators in half-twisted (0,2)
supersymmetric gauged linear sigma models. Our results give simple algebraic
formulas for a (0,2) generalization of genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants of
compact toric varieties. We derive compact expressions for deformed quantum
cohomology relations and apply our general method to several examples.Comment: 21 pages, LaTex; typos corrected; some discussion adde
Two-loop planar master integrals for the production of off-shell vector bosons in hadron collisions
We describe the calculation of all planar master integrals that are needed
for the computation of NNLO QCD corrections to the production of two off-shell
vector bosons in hadron collisions. The most complicated representatives of
integrals in this class are the two-loop four-point functions where two
external lines are on the light-cone and two other external lines have
different invariant masses. We compute these and other relevant integrals
analytically using differential equations in external kinematic variables and
express our results in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms. The case of two equal
off-shellnesses, recently considered in Ref. [1], appears as a particular case
of our general solution.Comment: 28 pages, many figures; ancillary files included with arXiv
