Silapathikaram was created by Ilango Adigal. The speciality of silapathikaram is, it is the first epic created in tamil language. Silapathikaram presents literature, music and drama(muthamizh) and thereby bringing to light the pride of Tamil language. As characters of Silapathikaram got into a lot of discussions, a doubt arises whether the characters got famous through the epic or, the epic got famous due to the characters. For instance, the chastity of Kannagi and Madhavi has been compared and subjected to many debates. Madhavi is considered to be a crucial character in Silapathikaram. Madhavi belongs to kanigayar community. She has learnt the art of dance for seven years. She has also learnt to play a musical instrument called ‘yazh’. She has written two letters, thereby Silapathikaram exposed her art skills and literary knowledge. It is also known that women of kanigayar community learnt many art skills, thus exposing the literary, musical, and art skills of Tamil people

Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity of Solvent Extracts of Spirulina fusiformis against Pathogenic Bacterial Strains

This study explores the antibacterial properties of Spirulina fusiformis, a blue-green alga with significant dietary and medicinal value. Spirulina is recognized globally for its nutrient-rich composition and potential therapeutic applications. With antibiotic resistance emerging as a serious global health concern, algae-derived bioactive compounds offer a promising, natural alternative to traditional antibiotics due to their non-toxic profile and effectiveness against pathogenic bacteria. The antibacterial activity of S. fusiformis was assessed using various solvent extracts, including petroleum ether, benzene, ethyl acetate, methanol, and ethanol, tested against twelve bacterial strains, including Bacillus thuringiensis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Escherichia coli, using the well diffusion method. Results showed that the ethanol extract of S. fusiformis exhibited the highest antibacterial activity, inhibiting all tested bacteria, with the greatest zones of inhibition observed against Streptococcus pyogenes (17 mm) and Bacillus thuringiensis (16 mm). The presence of some significant antimicrobial compounds present in the ethanol extract. These findings support the use of Spirulina fusiformis as a natural antibacterial agent and underline its potential in developing alternative therapeutic strategies for combating antibiotic-resistant pathogens

Quantum artificial intelligence:unlocking the future of technology

Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) stands for the combination of the exercise of ‘quantum computing’ and ‘artificial intelligence’ that drives breakthrough transformation across various industries. In this paper, it is discussed on how QAI is bringing change across industries including pharmaceuticals, finance, weather prediction, supply chain, security, smart cities, agriculture, telecommunication, and education. With quantum mechanics conceptions, QAI enhance computation ability to address more data, and enhance the algorithms. Quantum technologies have potential for attachment to AI systems and make the previously unachievable innovations with the help of overgrowing the classical models. As a conclusion, this paper also discusses its result on the methodological difficulties and ethical issues of QAI, the need to build strategic partnerships and the need for well-regulated legislation. The results extend our understanding of QAI to apprehend the future of technology and its application for solving some of the greatest problems that the world faces today

SERUM LIPID LEVELS IN PERIODONTITIS PATIENTS: A CASE-CONTROL STUDY

    Get PDF
Objective: We aimed to evaluate serum lipid levels in periodontitis patients and compared with healthy subjects. Methods: A case-control study was conducted among 30 participants in the age group of 35-60 y, including 15 subjects in case group with community periodontal index (CPI) score of ≥2 and 15 subjects in the control group with a CPI score of ≤ 1 based on their periodontal status. Fasting blood samples were taken for measurement of lipid profiles, including total cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) using an enzymatic method. Odds ratio and independent t-test at *p=0.05 significance level were calculated. Results: Periodontitis patients were 4.1 times at risk to have high triglyceride, 1.3 times at risk to have high total cholesterol and 0.3times at risk to have higher HDL. Independent t-test showed higher total cholesterol/HDL ratio (*p=0.033) and lowered HDL levels (*p=0.027) in periodontitis patients. Conclusion: Periodontitis group has significantly higher total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein ratio and lower high-density lipoprotein levels when compared to the healthy group
