Technical Specification for the CLIC Two-Beam Module
A high-energy (0.5-3 TeV centre-of-mass), highluminosity Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is being studied at CERN [1]. The CLIC main linacs, 21-km long each, are composed of 2-m long two beam modules. This paper presents their current layout, the main requirements for the different sub-systems (alignment, supporting, stabilization, cooling and vacuum) as well as the status of their integration
Development and bench testing of a new generator-drive set for railway cars
Introduction. Air conditioning systems installed in passenger carriages are currently powered using a gear-cardan drive connected to the middle part of the axis of a WBA-32/2 wheel pair designed by Flender (Germany) or its domestically manufactured analogues. Such drive dates back to the mid 1960s in terms of development and implementation. The article is devoted to the development and testing of a new generator-drive set for passenger carriages.Materials and methods. The authors analysed the long-standing operation of the drive according to railway services involved in the maintenance and repair of passenger carriages equipped with air conditioning systems. Bench tests were carried out to test a pilot batch of the main units of the generator-drive set, such as gearbox, couplings and generator.Results. A single-piece generator-drive set was developed and included a gearbox, generator, safety coupling and a elastic coupling. The entire structure of the set is installed on a bogie frame using three supporting elements of the suspension system.Discussion and conclusion. The completed calculations and experimental studies show that the single-piece generatordrive set features parameters that significantly exceed those of series-produced peers. The design of 68-4066 and 68-4096 bogies was modified in order to enable the installation of a new generator-drive set on passenger carriages series-produced bogies. The completed calculation and graphical analyses demonstrates that the new generator-drive set could be installed on 18-6960 high-speed bogies frame
Способы управления параметрами вибрации пассажирских вагонов
[For the English abstract and full text of the article please see the attached PDF-File (English version follows Russian version)].ABSTRACT When the car building plant in Tver began serial production of new generation passenger cars, its specialists had to face the facts of not always justified modification of, it would seem, already comfortable and safe designs. In particular, weakened vibration parameters during the construction of lounge cars, bars, laboratories were found out. The feasibility of reducing the vibration indicators of the lounge car by increasing the bending stiffness of the body and selecting the most rational vertical damper of the central suspension is given. Keywords: railway, car building, lounge car, vibration, smooth running, bending stiffness, design, testing, parameters’ control.
Basing on computational-experimental methods, theoretical and experimental studies were carried out in Tver on carrying capacity of car bodies of electric trains of the new generation EG2Tv under the influence of various normative stresses. Based on the preliminary evaluation of stress-strain state individual components of the metal structure of bodies were changed. The results of static strength tests showed that the main indicators of strength of the body fully comply with the requirements of standards and thus the rationality of the decisions made is confirmed. Taking into account the positive results of the tests, the bodies were transferred for further tests, namely, to determine the parameters of flexural vibrations.
Differential expression of the alternatively spliced OPRM1 isoform μ-opioid receptor-1K in HIV-infected individuals
We previously examined the expression of specific C-terminal μ-opioid receptor (MOR) splice variants in human central nervous system cell types and HIV-infected brain tissue from subjects with neurocognitive impairment ± HIV encephalitis (HIVE). In the present study, we examined the N-terminal splice variant MOR-1K which mediates excitatory cellular signaling
Epiregulin and EGFR interactions are involved in pain processing
The EGFR belongs to the well-studied ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. EGFR is activated by numerous endogenous ligands that promote cellular growth, proliferation, and tissue regeneration. In the present study, we have demonstrated a role for EGFR and its natural ligand, epiregulin (EREG), in pain processing. We show that inhibition of EGFR with clinically available compounds strongly reduced nocifensive behavior in mouse models of inflammatory and chronic pain. EREG-mediated activation of EGFR enhanced nociception through a mechanism involving the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway and matrix metalloproteinase-9. Moreover, EREG application potentiated capsaicin-induced calcium influx in a subset of sensory neurons. Both the EGFR and EREG genes displayed a genetic association with the development of chronic pain in several clinical cohorts of temporomandibular disorder. Thus, EGFR and EREG may be suitable therapeutic targets for persistent pain conditions
Mathematical model for the reinforced concrete with nonlinearity behaviour of bond
Abstract
The article developed a mathematical model describing the deformation of reinforced concrete, taking into account its adhesion to reinforcement. The model consists of three layers: concrete, contact layer, reinforcement. The contact layer surrounding the reinforcement takes into account the complex deformation of the concrete when interacting with the profiled reinforcement. Arguments are presented for criteria that determine the transition of concrete, reinforcement and contact layer to limit states. A diagram of testing of reinforced concrete specimen has been proposed and a procedure for processing experimental data, which allow you to determine the bond parameters. Equations that bind the mechanical characteristics of the contact layer with two the bond parameters of concrete with reinforcement are obtained. The developed model was used in the numerical solution of the problem of static pull-out of reinforcement from concrete. The calculation of the finite element method showed a good correspondence with the experimental data, including during plastic deformation of the reinforcement. This shows the correctness of theoretical provisions and developed mathematical algorithms used to model the deformation of reinforced concrete.</jats:p
CLIC two-beam module design and integration
Abstract The Compact LInear Collider (CLIC) is based on twobeam acceleration concept currently developed at CERN. The RF power is generated by a high-current electronbeam, called Drive Beam, (DB) running parallel to the Main Beam (MB). The DB is decelerated in dedicated power extraction structures (PETS) and the generated RF power is transferred via waveguides to the accelerating structures (AS). To facilitate the matching of the beams, components are assembled in 2-m long modules of few different types. Special modules are needed in damping regions or to contain dedicated instrumentation and vacuum equipment. The module design and integration has to cope with challenging requirements from the different technical systems. This paper reports the status of the engineering design and related technical issues
