The Speech Styles Used by Erin Gruwell in Freedom Writers Movie

This study focused on the gendered speech styles namely; male speech styles and female speech styles used by Erin Gruwell in the Freedom Writers movie and the changes that can be perceived from her use of gendered speech styles. Based on the writer's descriptive qualitative approach analysis on the data, she found out that the teacher uses both male speech styles and female speech styles along 15 class scenes. She used Co-operative feature of female speech styles and Aggressive feature of male speech styles as her dominant feature which were used in each class scene. However, the writer could not find any gradual changes from the teacher's use of speech styles. Therefore, the teacher's changes in using speech styles did not seem to correlate with the students' changes in the attitude towards the teacher

Understanding the implementation of community case management of childhood illness in Indonesia families' and primary health care workers' perspectives

University of Technology, Sydney. Faculty of Health.Indonesia is striving to achieve the Millennium Development Goal 4 target of less than 23 infant deaths per 1000 live births by 2015. In order to reach this target, a community case management (CCM) model, was introduced by the American funded Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP) and the Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH) in 2011. Little is known about how CCM has been delivered and there is no research that examines the factors that contribute to the successful implementation of CCM in Indonesia. The aim of this research was to gain insight into how CCM was implemented in the Kutai Timur district, East Kalimantan, Indonesia from the perspective of primary health care workers (PHCWs): community nurses, midwives and community health workers; and from the families who received care. Interpretive description was used to gain insight into participants’ perceptions and experiences. This method allowed me to generate knowledge about the implementation of CCM and to gain an understanding of the experience of the participants involved and the impact on health and health care practice. Data were collected following PHCWs training and the initial phase of implementation. Interviews were conducted with six key informants from MCHIP, MoH, the district health office and Puskesmas (community health centres), three program supervisors, 15 PHCWs and seven mothers. PHCWs were observed while delivering interventions to families. One focus group discussion was conducted with PHCWs and documents related to the CCM implementation were analysed. Five main themes emerged: improved family wellbeing; enhanced PHCWs’ practice; barriers to CCM implementation; enablers of CCM implementation; and cultural influences. It was reported that families’ access to care improved, along with the family’s satisfaction of care, compliance with care plans and health literacy. In addition, it was found that the program had increased PHCWs’ family and child health knowledge and professional confidence to deliver evidenced-based practice, in conjunction with improved clinical reasoning and more structured clinical intervention. Despite the reported success of the CCM program, a number of barriers and concerns highlight the need for programs to be better tailored to the socio-cultural context. An integrated model of community child health delivery that emphasises the importance of health system strengthening; the improved alignment of child health programs with maternal, newborn and reproductive programs; PHCWs support; and community participation is proposed. This model can be used to guide the implementation of community case management models in the rural Indonesian context

Pemodelan Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Sektor Industri Di Indonesia Dengan Pendekatan Regresi Data Panel Dinamis

Penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri adalah lowongan pekerjaan di sektor Industri yang sudah diisi oleh pencari kerja dan pekerja. Penyerapan tenaga kerja tersebut diperlukan dalam distribusi pendapatan yang nantinya akan berdampak pada pembangunan ekonomi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memodelkan penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri serta melihat pengaruh elastisitas jangka pendek maupun jangka panjangnya. Variabel yang diduga mempengaruhi penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri di Indonesia antara lain, PDRB, UMP, dan produktivitas tenaga kerja. Model yang digunakan adalah regrei data panel dinamis dengan menggunakan GMM Arellano-Bond. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara jangka pendek elastisitas untuk PDRB, UMP, dan produktivitas tenaga kerja sebesar 0,350, -0,163, dan -0,005. Adapun elastisitas jangka panjang untuk PDRB, UMP, dan produktivitas tenaga kerja sebesar 1,210, -0,564, dan -0,017

Pemodelan Persentase Penduduk Miskin di Jawa Timur dengan Pendekatan Ekonometrika Panel Spasial

Kemiskinan merupakan salah satu permasalahan pembangunan yang timbul di negara berkembang, seperti Indonesia. Jumlah penduduk miskin di Indonesia berfluktuasi dari tahun ke tahun, termasuk di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah dengan menentukan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap kemiskinan. Penelitian ini fokus pada pemodelan persentase penduduk miskin dengan pendekatan ekonometrika panel spasial sehingga diharapkan dapat menjelaskan efek spasial dan efek periode waktu terhadap persentase penduduk miskin pada masing-masing kabupaten/kota di Jawa Timur. Aspek kemiskinan yang diamati terbatas hanya terdiri dari tiga sektor yaitu pendidikam, ekonomi dan kesehatan. Model terbaik untuk persentase penduduk miskin adalah SEM Fixed Effect. Koefisien autoregresif spasial pada model persentase penduduk miskin yaitu sebesar 0,391980. Faktor yang paling elastis adalah tingkat penggangguran terbuka sebesar 0,627804%

Analisis Ekonometrika Model Pendapatan Nasional Indonesia dengan Pendekatan Persamaan Sistem Simultan

Indikator pembangunan ekonomi suatu negara adalah dengan meningkatnya pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis model simultan pendapatan nasional dengan menggunakan metode Three Stage Least Square (3SLS). Pendapatan nasional sebagian persen disumbang oleh konsumsi rumah tangga yaitu sebesar 60 persen. Nilai koefisien determinasi sistem sebesar 98,16%. Model pendapatan nasional terdiri dari empat persamaan struktural yaitu konsumsi rumah tangga, investasi, ekspor dan impor. Konsumsi rumah tangga dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh pendapatan disposibel dan konsumsi tahun sebelumnya. Investasi secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh suku bunga, dan investasi sebelumnya. Investasi dan nilai tukar rupiah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap ekspor, sedangkan nilai tukar rupiah tidak berpengaruh terhadap impor di Indonesia. Impor dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh pendapatan nasional dan impor pada tahun sebelumnya

Figurative Language Analysis In Song Lyrics Of Coldplay Band

Song is one example of literature. Listening song is enjoyable activity, but the listeners cannot get a pleasure if they dont understand the figurative language that commonly found in the song. Song usually consists of figurative language since the figurative language is used in the lyric that is written well. Based on the reason, it brings the writer of the thesis to analyze. In this research, the writer analyzed figurative language in song lyrics of Coldplay band.The writer used qualitative research and content analysis in order to answer the research problems. Hornby (1974:822) stated that, song lyric is a short poem in a number of verses set to music to be sung. In its writing, the songwriters or composers usually beautify the language they use by any figurative language, so that the listeners will be more attracted in listening the song. This study is aimed at describing the existance of figurative and moral lesson in the lyrics of Coldplays song. The choice of Coldplays songs is based on to reasons. The first is writer himself is a big fan of Coldplay. The second is the Coldplays songs doesnot only talk about love, but also freedom, equality, and other social issues. Five songs are randomly drawn as the sample of the study by random sampling. Those song are Yellow, Clock, A Message Fix You, The Scientist . In analyzing the lyrics, the writer of this thesis uses objective approach. After completing thestudy, the writer found out that the existing kind of figurative language in thelyrics of Coldplays songs were methapor (80%), simile (4%), hyperbole (7%), personification (7%), onomatopoeia (2%).The first suggestion is to the next writer, using poem or songs as media is important and interesting in poetry subject. The writer could give songs as the example of learning figurative language to next writer and the second suggestion is to the next writer who want to conduct song analysis. They can do further research such as analyzing style, theme or value in the song

Toko Optik Royal adalah toko yang menjual berbagai macam jenis dan merk kacamata. Kacamata itu meliputi frame dan juga lensanya, selain itu juga menjual softlens Dalam menjalankan USAhanya saat ini masih menggunakan sistem manual, semua pencatatan transaksi maupun data-datanya menggunakan kertas atau buku. Hal tersebut menyebabkan banyak terjadi kesalahan dalam pencatatan data-data transaksi sehingga data-data yang dihasilkan tidak akurat. Kesalahan data-data tersebut terjadi karena human error. Selain masih rawannya terjadi kesalahan dalam pencatatan data, sistem yang manual sangat merepotkan bila ingin melakukan pencarian data tertentu dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Karena menggunakan media kertas, sistem manual tersebut mempunyai kekurangan yang datanya mudah hilang. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu perancangan dan pembuatan sistem informasi yang dapat mengelola data sehingga dapat menghasilkan informasi berupa laporan dalam waktu yang cepat dan terorganisir dengan baik.Pada Skripsi ini, proses perancangan dan pembuatan program dimulai dengan mempelajari dan menganalisis sistem Perusahaan saat ini, kemudian menyusun dan membuat document flow, DFD, ERD, dan tabel-tabel yang dibutuhkan serta mendesain form-form yang akan digunakan. Setelah itu, membuat program yang terdiri dari pencatatan master database, sistem pembelian, penjualan, mutasi stok, dan laporan-laporan yang diperlukan. Aplikasi yang digunakan dalam pembuatan database adalah Microsoft SQL Server 2005, untuk bahasa pemrograman menggunakan Visual Basic 6.0, dan untuk laporannya menggunakan crystal report versi 8.5.Aplikasi yang sudah dibuat meliputi master data, sistem penjualan, pembelian, mutasi stok, kartu stok, penghitungan hpp dan laba rugi, serta pembuatan laporan-laporan
