    Abstract - This research reports the result of scientific approach learning with open-ended problems experiment of mathematical connection ability and self-confidence of junior high school students. The study used three instruments: a set of pre-test, a set of post-test and likert-scale. The research found the following: (a) the experiment students have better mathematical connection ability achievement than those of control ones, (b) the experiment students have better mathematical connection ability enhancement than those of control ones, (c) the experiment students have better self-confidence than those of control ones.     Penelitian ini dilakukan di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat, berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh masalah mengenai Prestasi Kerja yaitu kurangnya hasil kerja pegawai dalam mencapai target program 300 doktor, di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat bertanggungjawab mewujudkan target tersebut dan kurangnya inisiatif Pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam meningkatkan kompetensi sesuai kebutuhan organisasi. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kompetensi yang belum di jalankan sesuai dengan indikator-indikatornya, kurangnya minat Pegawai Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam mengikuti kegiatan program 300 doktor dan kurangnya pemahaman Pegawai mengenai kondisi kerja di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengumpulkan data dan informasi tentang adakah pengaruh kompetensi terhadap prestasi kerja Pegawai di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat, mengenai hambatan-hambatan apa saja yang dihadapi oleh Pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam meningkatkan kompeten dan menerapkan usaha-usaha yang harus dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan-hambatan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi terhadap prestasi kerja pegawai di Badan Kepegawaian Daearh Provinsi Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif, metode kuantitatif adalah metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk meneliti pada populasi dan sampel tertentu, pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument penelitian, analisis data bersifat kuantitatif atau statistik, dengan tujuan untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah ditetapkan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelitian kepustakaan, penelitian lapangan diantaranya observasi non partisipan, wawancara kepada Kepala Badan Kepegawaian Daerah, Kepala Bidang Pengadaan dan Mutasi, Kepala Bidang Pengembangan Karir serta dengan pegawai yang bekerja di Subbagian Kepegawaian dan Umum Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat, angket yang disebarkan kepada 34 responden Pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas dan uji regresi. Penelitian ini memperoleh hasil yaitu pengaruh kompetensi terhadap prestasi kerja pegawai di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat kuat, sehingga hipotesis penelitain konseptual mengenai pengaruh kompetensi terhadap prestasi kerja Pegawai di Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat teruji

    Psychosocial Need Analysis of Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

    Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic pulmonary disease impacted on physical and psychosocial of the patients. However, to date, the goverment’s programs has not address the psychososial problem of the patients yet. The existing programs are still focused on the treatment and prevention of disease transmission This descriptive correlational study aims to analyze determinant factors related to the fulfillment of psychosocial needs of TB patients in the city of Cirebon. 171 pulmonary TB patients involved in this study were selected by consecutive sampling from 10 health centers in Cirebon. Instrumen used in this study was developed by the researchers. Before using the instrument, it was tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that there are three dominant factors associated with the patient satisfaction level to meet the needs of their psychosocial. These factors are the psychological conditions in the past week, duration of treatment and support services. Demographic factors have no influence on their satisfaction toward the fulfillment of their psychosocial needs. The study suggested that the government should provide support services in health centers so that pulmonary tuberculosis psychosocial needs can be met and drop out cases can be prevented

    Eremitism in China was a product of the socio-political and intellectual changes of the late Spring and Autumn and Warring States period. The basic philosophical presuppositions of eremitism, relating to individual moral choice and autonomy, were first formulated by Confucius, although there existed certain ideas, practices and individuals before him that can be regarded as having prefigured eremitism. During the Warring States period a wide range of philosophies of eremitism developed, philosophies based on varying premises and aspiring to ideals which frequently were antithetical. With the unification of China, first by the Qin dynasty and then by the Han, the socio-political context in which eremitic ideas had to operate changed drastically; the implications of virtuous withdrawal were more serious when there was no longer a choice of rulers to serve. Hence although what evidence there is indicates that most varieties of eremitism continued to flourish throughout the Han period, in the first hundred years of the dynasty there was little Confucian timely eremitism. However, from that time on a new type of eremitism began to develop, which in the Later Han period became highly fashionable. This was Confucian exemplary eremitism, which was a major element in the scholarly culture generated by the imperial backing of Confucianism and the operation of the recommendatory system for official appointments. The social and political standing of hermits also rose as a result of Wang Mang's policy of honouring worthy men in order to establish the legitimacy of his claim to the throne, a policy which was Political events towards continued by the emperors of the Later Han. the end of the Han - particularly the Great Proscription - resulted in hermits gaining even further social and political prestige and influence, and by 220 A.D. most of the major characteristics of the Chinese eremitic tradition had been established

    Hallucinations are positive symptoms most commontly experienced bypatients with psychiatric disorders. Perceptual stimulation therapy group activities are part of the therapeutic modalities that are given to patients with schizophrenia who experienced hallucinations in order to achieve independence of patient. This is a descriptive study which saw the picture of the level of independence of the patients in the control hallucinations after following stimulation group activity. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling, in which 42 people were interviewed. The process of data collection using the method of observation, which in practice researchers assisted by the numerator. Analysis of the data with the percentage and frequency distribution are described in the table. The result showed that the level of independence of patient hallucinations in controlling halluciantions after following stimulation group activity therapy activity perception is supportive 28.6%, partially 61,9%, and wholly 9,5%. Based on the findings that majority of patients a level of independence that is partially, developed strategies necessary in an effort to increase the performance of nurses in the implementation of nursing actions that can foster patient independence
