Medicinska Fizika U Radiološkoj Praksi: Tehnologije Snimanja I Mjere Zaštite
This paper aims to highlight the pivotal role of physics in radiology, emphasizing its critical importance in both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Radiology relies on a variety of imaging techniques, all of which are grounded in fundamental physical principles. These techniques include X-ray imaging, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). The paper provides an overview of the core physical principles underlying these technologies, discusses their applications in medical diagnostics and treatment, and underscores the importance of radiation safety and protection. Special attention is given to the role of medical physicists in the maintenance and calibration of equipment, treatment planning, as well as the training of medical staff. Ove tehnike uključuju rendgensko snimanje, kompjutoriziranu tomografiju (CT), magnetsku rezonanciju (MRI), pozitronsku emisijsku tomografiju (PET) i jednofotonsku emisijsku kompjutoriziranu tomografiju (SPECT).
KAKO KORPORACIJE MOTIVIRAJU SVOJE ZAPOSLENIKE – PRIMJER HRVATSKOG TELEKOMA
Management and development of human resources is becoming increasingly important due to the new position and role of man in all social processes, as well as their management. Motivation and employee satisfaction are the basis of modern management occupations of human resources because only the construction of quality motivational system can help organization to increase its competitive ability and value. Big corporations are increasingly looking upon motivation and motivation techniques in order to retain their employees and to
increase competitiveness of the company. Their managers need to know who their employees are, what are their habits, what kind is their behavior in the company, whether they are willing to work in teams, their features and capabilities. Based on the answers to these questions, managers need to know which of the motivational techniques apply to individual employee in order to achieve the best result.
This paper describes different motivation theories and shows the theoretical framework of human resource management through motivation and compensation programs based on practical example. As a practical example, Hrvatski Telekom (HT) was chosen due to its compliance with the basic principles of human resource management including motivating employees which results in company success on Croatian telecommunication market.Upravljanje ljudskim potencijalima i njihov razvoj postaju sve važnijima zbog novog mjesta i uloge čovjeka u svim društvenim procesima, kao i u njihovu upravljanju.
Macron: The Strategic Role of Sponsorship to Sustain Brand Growth
Macron is one of the fastest growing sportswear companies in Europe, ranked today as the 3rd most widespread football brand by UEFA. The case describes sponsorship model utilized by Macron in sport marketing, used by the company as a core element to sustain the company and brand growth in several geographies. Operating in a fast growing, but complex global market, whose key players are international brands such as Nike, Puma and Adidas, Macron decided to leverage on Pro-clubs’ sponsorships, as a key marketing tool to generate revenue in its core business - teamwear and merchandising. As a result, Macron created a new business model that became a reference for some competitors such as Errea, Jako, Hummel and Erima. Core management decisions have been a) to identify the right strategy for pro-clubs’ sponsorship (e.g., how to segment in tier and which Tier of Pro-Club to sponsor, how, etc.), b) to select sports and brands that could be sponsored according to specific criteria (e.g. brand image, values, etc.), c) to define the reference market where to compete (e.g., Brands with main focus on sports-wear vs. Brands with main focus on teams-wear) d) to strengthen Brand Equity while maintaining the integrity of company values. As a result, today Macron is an international company that sponsors more than 60 professional clubs, which has chosen the brand based on trust, reliability and quality perception.
The management should then reflect on how to utilize sponsorship, co-marketing and partnerships to sustain growth in merchandising and teamwear and strengthen own position in a complex market
Impact of Institutional Quality on Foreign Direct Investment Inflow: Evidence from Croatia
Background: Foreign direct investment (FDI) flows are unevenly distributed around the world and determined by different factors. The literature points out to economic and non-economic determinants of FDI flows, while the latter have shown to generate ambiguous effects across regions. Objectives: The primary goal of this paper is to examine the relationship between non-economic determinants and the FDI inflow in Croatia from 1996 to 2017, thus capturing different periods of the economic cycle. The importance of non-economic institutional determinants of FDI is analysed in parallel with the economic determinants. Methods/Approach: This study uses available data on FDI per capita and a set of non-economic (institutional) and economic determinants. We employed the OLS regression analysis to determine the significance of FDI inflow determinants and compare the relevance of non-economic to economic factors. Results: Results of this exploratory study show that institutional quality variables included in the model (regulatory quality, political stability, and government effectiveness, the rule of law and control of corruption) could not be pointed out as important determinants of the FDI inflow in Croatia. Economic variables GDP per capita and average gross wage prove to be important in determining the FDI inflow in Croatia. Conclusions: The research results point to a variety of FDI determinants among countries and economic cycle periods. Given the evidence from Croatia, variations, especially in institutional determinants, might be caused by the diverse FDI inflow characteristics and specificities of receiving economies
During the 1990s Croatia went through the process of transition to market economy mostly following the Washington Consensus policy guidelines. Since the period before the last global financial crisis, Croatia has shown almost no convergence to developed European Union member states and has been among the least developed ones. This paper examines the causes of Croatian development lag, while providing an overview of contemporary development policies and international production fragmentation trends that affected them. The paper points out to several important factors that shaped the Croatian development path. Expectations from foreign capital were overrated, as the foreign direct investment consisted mainly of brownfield investment in large monopolistic companies and was rarely directed to export-oriented sectors. Accession to the World Trade Organisation was followed by stronger growth of imports than exports and joining the European Union did not bring economic growth as fast as expected. Lack of industrial policy implementation has led Croatia to deindustrialisation and increasing importance of the tourism sector as a form of the Dutch disease.
This research investigates the amplifying role of memes in political scandals. This study, therefore, begins with the hypothesis that political scandals originating from mainstream media extend to social networks through memes. Consequently, the duration and impact of a specific scandal are extended as it circulates within these online platforms. The case study examines three Croatian news portals – Večernji.hr, Index.hr, and Slobodnadalmacija.hr – and analyzes memes published on the Megatroll Split Facebook page in June 2022. Findings indicate that despite a smaller number of memes generated within a two-day timeframe, the Megatroll Split Facebook page received more user engagement than Večernji. hr, which published sixteen articles over eight days. This research confirms the significant role of memes in political scandals and underscores the need for further exploration in this area.
