Investor's perception of the company will be seen through the company's performance which is reflected by the Company's Value. High company value will increase the bargaining power of the company and provide added value for shareholders and investors who want to invest in the company. The objective of the research was to examine and analyze the influence of Profitability Ratio (Gross Profit Margin/GPM, Operating Profit Margin/OPM, Net Profit Margin/NPM, Return On Assets/ROA, Return On Equity/ROE), Debt Policy (Debt Equity Ratio/DER) and Firm size (Assets Size) on the Company Value (Price Earning Ratio/PER) in consumer goods companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research used causal research method and secondary data. The population was 47 consumer goods companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2015-2017, and 23 of them were used as the samples, taken by purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that simultaneously Gross Profit Margin (GPM), Operating Profit Margin (OPM), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE) and Debt Policy (Debt Equity Ratio / DER) significantly influence the Company Value (Per Earning Ratio / PER) with a calculated F value of 0,000. Partially, Gross Profit Margin (GPM) and Company Size (Assets Size) have a significant effect on Company Value (PER), with a t value of 0,000, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return On Assets (NPM) ROA), Return On Equity (ROE) and Debt Policy (Debt Equity Ratio / DER) have no effect on the Company Value (Per Earning Ratio) with t count values of 0.89, 0.831.0.757.0.864.0.827, respectively. With R Square 0, 348 = 34.8%, meaning that only 34.8% of the variables studied could affect the value of the company while 62.2% is influenced by other variables that were not researched

Lectins or agglutinins are sugar-binding proteins that bind reversibly to specific mono- or oligo-saccharides. They are widely distributed in plants, animals, and microbes. The physiological role of lectins in plant growth and development, plant defence against pathogens, and insect pests. Plant lectins have a severe effect on the growth and development of insects. In this study, The gene of Allium sativum root lectin (ASARI) was adopted from the National Centre for Biotechnology Information (Gene bank accession number AAB64238.1). The ASARI gene was modified (mASARI) by truncating 84bp at the 5’ end and 126bp at the 3’ end of the gene to enhance the binding activity to the target protein. The modified lectin was amplified by PCR and cloned into the pET 30 b (+) vector with C terminal His6 tag to get the over expressed modified mASARI lectin. The His6 is used for the purification of Ni-NTA column chromatography. But, the over expressed recombinant modified mASARI protein in E. coli is an inactive inclusion body. The inclusion body contains lots of host cell proteins and cell components. For receiving the active and native form of the protein the inclusion body has to be washed to reduce the host cell components. To get an active and refolded form of protein it should be solubilized under denaturing condition (8M) urea. Then the protein is immobilized by metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) and gradually refolded by using a linear gradient of urea from 8.0 M to 0.0 M showing that at least part of the protein was properly refolded. The 13.6 kDa protein showed positive agglutination with rabbit erythrocytes at a concentration of 6.25µg/m

Practical Sliding Window Recoder: Design, Analysis, and Usecases

Network coding has been widely used as a technology to ensure efficient and reliable communication. The ability to recode packets at the intermediate nodes is a major benefit of network coding implementations. This allows the intermediate nodes to choose a different code rate and fine-tune the outgoing transmission to the channel conditions, decoupling the requirement for the source node to compensate for cumulative losses over a multi-hop network. Block network coding solutions already have practical recoders but an on-the-fly recoder for sliding window network coding has not been studied in detail. In this paper, we present the implementation details of a practical recoder for sliding window network coding for the first time along with a comprehensive performance analysis of a multi-hop network using the recoder. The sliding window recoder ensures that the network performs closest to its capacity and that each node can use its outgoing links efficiently

In recent years the cost of carbon source for microbial enzymes production has necessitated a drive towards cheaper and sustainable sources. In this study, Adansonia digitata (Baobab) fruit pulp was utilized as substrate for Bacillus endoglucanase production and the effects of varying temperature, pH, incubation period, inoculum size and substrate concentration on endoglucanase production were investigated. The cellulolytic activity of the isolates was screened base on halo of clearance on Carboxymethyl  cellulose agar, while the endoglucanase activity of the selected Bacillus species was monitored using 3, 5 - dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) method. Out of 4 Bacillus species screened, only Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus subtitis showed cellulolytic activity with B. amyloliquefaciens having the highest activity of 20.0 mm. Therefore B. amyloliquefaciens was selected  for studies on the effect of fermentation conditions on endoglucanase activity. The maximum yield of endoglucanase was produced at temperature of 55 oC, pH 2, 1% inoculum size and 1% substrate concentration for 4 days incubation period. The results of this study  suggest that Adansonia digitata fruit pulp can be harnessed at low concentration for large scale endoglucanase production by Bacillus, and the endoglucanase produced by B. amyloliquefaciens could be a thermostable enzyme with novel characteristics suitable for application in biofuel and textile industry

CRYPTO-MINE: Cryptanalysis via Mutual Information Neural Estimation

The use of Mutual Information (MI) as a measure to evaluate the efficiency of cryptosystems has an extensive history. However, estimating MI between unknown random variables in a high-dimensional space is challenging. Recent advances in machine learning have enabled progress in estimating MI using neural networks. This work presents a novel application of MI estimation in the field of cryptography. We propose applying this methodology directly to estimate the MI between plaintext and ciphertext in a chosen plaintext attack. The leaked information, if any, from the encryption could potentially be exploited by adversaries to compromise the computational security of the cryptosystem. We evaluate the efficiency of our approach by empirically analyzing multiple encryption schemes and baseline approaches. Furthermore, we extend the analysis to novel network coding-based cryptosystems that provide individual secrecy and study the relationship between information leakage and input distribution

    Coronaviridae—Old friends, new enemy!

Coronaviridae is a family of single‐stranded positive enveloped RNA viruses. This article aimed to review the history of these viruses in the last 60 years since their discovery to understand what lessons can be learned from the past. A review of the PubMed database was carried out, describing taxonomy, classification, virology, genetic recombination, host adaptation, and main symptoms related to each type of virus. SARS‐CoV‐2 is responsible for the ongoing global pandemic, and SARS‐CoV and MERS‐CoV were responsible for causing severe respiratory illness and regional epidemics in the past while the four other strains of CoVs (229‐E OC43, NL63, and HKU1) circulate worldwide and normally only cause mild upper respiratory tract infections. Given the enormous diversity of coronavirus viruses in wildlife and their continuous evolution and adaptation to humans, future outbreaks would undoubtedly occur. Restricting or banning all trade in wild animals in wet markets would be a necessary measure to reduce future zoonotic infections

Enhancing 5G Performance: Reducing Service Time and Research Directions for 6G Standards

This paper presents several methods for minimizing packet service time in networks using 5G and beyond. We propose leveraging network coding alongside Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) to reduce service time as well as optimizing Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) selection based on the service time. Our network coding approach includes a method to increase the number of packets in flight, adhering to the current standard of the 16 HARQ process limit, demonstrating that these strategies can enhance throughput and reduce latency. Experimental results show that network coding reduces service times by up to 7% in low SNR regimes, with greater reduction across all SNR as the number of packets in flight increases, suggesting that future 6G standards should consider increasing the number of HARQ processes for better performance
