    Tinjauan Kritis dan Menyeluruh terhadap Fundamentalisme dan Radikalisme Islam Masa Kini

    The purpose of this research is to present a historical review and critique of the actions of radicalism on the basis of fundamentalism in Indonesia. This research is motivated by the development of discourse related to fundamentalism and radicalism which is often identified to Islam group with negative connotation in Indonesia. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach with a historical-critical study method. Data were collected through literature studies and related literature of several Islamic organizations consisting of; Darul Islam Or Islamic State of Indonesia (NII); Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI); Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI); and the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). The results show that fundamentalism and radicalism is a verbic word whose roots are not contained in the language of Muslims in various Arabic speaking countries. Fundamentalism by term is the assertion of certain religious activists who define religion absolutely and literally. Fundamentalism as a reaction to modernism emerged in the nineteenth century. At that time, modernism appeared very fiery in the United States. In the era of the 1990s, there was a change of format and fundamental strategy in radical Islamic movement in Indonesia. If in previous years this movement runs latently and always confronted by the State so as to generate political fear for Muslims then in the era of the 1990s radical Islamic movement appears openly, as seen in the movement Laskar Jihad, Jamaah Islamiah Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, Ikhwanul Muslimin, Mujahidin Jamaah, Nurul Fikr, Islamic Defenders Front and Hizb ut-Tahrir Based on the results of research, author concluded that Fundamentalism and radicalism is not a term derived from Islam but the term of Christianity which is today used for Islam. Both fundamentalism and radicalism potentially exist to any group, whether religious, social, or political. It occurs in any religion. Fundamentalism can be a virtue if it is not performed by the action of radicalism. Therefore, the solution to the value of tolerance in fundamentalism is a deep understanding of belief or religion

    REVISITING BEPERTUK AS TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN ISLAM SASAK

     It is believed by Muslims in Lombok that the genies live as the keeper of sacred tree, stone, waterfall and river. When someone comes to those sacred places and goes home in unhealthy condition, it is because the genies feel disturbed. The one must do Bepertuk, it refers to a ritual of Sasaknese Islam to cure the illness caused by genie. Despite this activity is modified by the growing of Islam, parts of local belief still exist. This paper aims to re-think and offer the contemporary interpretation about Bepertuk that is still conducted in Korleko, East Lombok. It explains the convergence of local understanding and Islamic doctrine. It also examines the meaning of each activity on the ritual that integrates human with the existence of creature in another realm. This is a qualitative research through literature study and field observation, an interview also conducted to an Islamic follower who does Bepertuk. This study argues that the practice of pulling the hair of a girl, chewing betel and areca and spelling the mantras around the teapot are simply fit with Islamic teaching.     From Conflict to Solidarity: Revisiting Muslim-Christian Relation after 171 Tragedy in Mataram

    Several Muslim-Christian conflicts occurred after the regime of Soeharto ended. Two of them are the Maluku and Poso conflicts. Another one occurred in 2000, on January 17th, or what is well known as the 171 tragedy. Why did the 171 tragedy occur in Lombok? Extremism and puritanism could be the answers. It is a sect that exists in both Islam and Christianity that “justifies” violence in the name of religion. What is interesting about the 171 tragedy is that it was not continued for long-term periods. Soon after the condition is safe, economic and academic collaboration between Islam and Christianity will resume normally. This is a descriptive-qualitative paper. This paper argues that 171 tragedy is the beginning of Islam-Christian collaboration to fight extremism in religion instead of an enmity reason for both religions. With that understanding, it is hoped that solidarity to combat extremism will continue to grow. The occurrence of 171 tragedies caused chaos and detriment for Christians. However, it transformed Mataram from a city of religious contestation among Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism into a city of unity. [Sejumlah konflik antara Muslim dan Kristen muncul setelah jatuhnya rezim Soeharto. Salah duanya terjadi di Maluku dan Poso. Konflik lain terjadi pada 17 Januari tahun 2000 atau dikenal dengan tragedi 171. Kenapa kemudian tragedi 171 terjadi di Lombok? Ekstremisme dan puritanisme bisa menjadi jawaban. Ini merupakan sebuah sekte di Islam maupun Kristen yang “menghalalkan” kekerasan dengan dalil agama. Yang menarik dari tragedi 171 adalah, ia tidak berlangsung dalam periode panjang. Tidak lama setelah konflik mereda, kolaborasi ekonomi serta bidang akademis antara Muslim dan Kristen kembali normal. Ini adalah penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif. Argumen utamanya adalah, bahwa tragedi 171, alih-alih menjadi alasan permusuhan Islam-Kristen, ia justru menjadi awal solidaritas kedua agama untuk melawan ekstremisme. Dengan pemahaman tersebut, diharapkan kerja sama untuk melawaan ekstremisme terus tumbuh. Terjadinya tragedi 171 tentu menyebabkan kekacauan dan kerugian bagi umat Kristen. Di sisi lain, tragedi tersebut telah mentransformasi Mataram dari sebuah kota yang menjadi tempat kontestasi Islam, Kristen dan Hindu, menjadi kota persatuan.

    Korelasi Antara Sarana Pembelajaran dengan Minat Belajar IPS Peserta Didik Kelas VIII di UPT SMPN 1 Patampanua Kabupaten Pinrang

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat korelasi antara sarana pembelajaran dengan minat belajar IPS perta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian survey dengan metode kuntitatif. Untuk menentukan jumlah sampel peneliti menggunakan rumus Isaac dan Michael, dengan sampel sebanyak 117 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisi deskriptif, statistik Inferensial, uji instrument penelitian, dan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan program SPSS 22 for windowas. Pada penelitian di ketahui bahwa terdapat korelasi yang positif antara sarana pembelajaran dengan minat belajar IPS peserta didik kelas VIII di UPT SMPN 1 Patampanua Kab. Pinrang. Hal ini di buktikan berdasarkan uji correlations menggunakan IMB SPSS 22 di ketahui nilai probabilitasnya sebesar 0.002 yang artinya 0.002 < 0.05 dan R sebesar 0.286. maka dapat di simpulkan H0 di tolak dan H1 di terima yang artinya terdapat korelasi yang positif antara sarana pembelajaran dengan minat belajar IPS peserta didik kelas VIII di UPT SMPN 1 Patampanua Kab. Pinrang

      The aim of this  research was to know  the Students learning startegy  and motivation in developing the students’ speakin gability  at six thse mester of English department (IAIN   Parepare).The  researcher was applying at six thse mester of  English department (IAIN Parepare) through had escriptive qualitati veresearch. This research were using three kinds of instruments. The first instrument wastest, where the purpose of this instrument was to know the student tabilityin speaking. The                      second was interview, the aim of this instrument was to know   what strategy that the student use to develop their speaking.   The last was question naire, where this instrument was to know the motivation of the student in order   to    develop   their speaking.   After   analyzing the data from the question naire the research erfound that  students in the high andlow category have the same strong motivation in developing their speaking. However, interms of using strategy, the                             students in high category use more variated strategies than thelow category.  The   students in high category mostly   apply cognitive and metacognitive strategy while the students in   low   cataegory mostly used social strategy. &nbsp

Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa metode. Diantaranya adalah metode pendekatan. Yaitu metode yang mengungkapkan pola piker yang dipergunakan untuk membahas objek penelitian. Pendekatan yang dimaksud ialah pendekatan sistem. Metode pelaksanaan, yaitu data yang dikumpulkan diolah kembali secara kualitatif yakni berupa keterangan-keterangan yang diperoleh dari sumber data, kemudian pengolahan data tersebut berupa ide-ide dan teori-teori yang tidak dapat disusun secara grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, Boarding school yang bercorak modern tidak lebih dari sikap akomodatif terhadap kemajuan zaman, menyesuaikan diri tanpa meninggalkan karakter budaya lokal, Panorama era kontemporer mendeskripsikan era teknolgi, informasi dan komunikasi (TIK), yakni fenomena ini mampu menembus sekat atau gap setiap bangsa sehingga dunia bagai global village, Boarding school yang relevan dengan tuntutan dan kebutuhan TIK apabila memilki sistem sekolah unggulan. Sekolah unggulan memilki sistem yang berbasis teknologi yang mengedepankan sikap terbuka, rasional, obyektif, ilmiah, progresif, profesional, dinamis, etos kerja yang tinggi, visioner dsb. Ketika karakter sekolah unggulan dikolaborasikan dengan sistem boarding school, maka boarding school akan mampu membangun peradaban yang sejajar dengan peradaban lain.
