The preequilibrium (nucleon-in, nucleon-out) angular distributions of 27^{27}Al, 58^{58}Ni and 90^{90}Zr have been analyzed in the energy region from 90 to 200 MeV in terms of the Quantum Moleculear Dynamics (QMD) theory. First, we show that the present approach can reproduce the measured (p,xp') and (p,xn) angular distributions leading to continuous final states without adjusing any parameters. Second, we show the results of the detailed study of the preequilibrium reaction processes; the step-wise contribution to the angular distribution, comparison with the quantum-mechanical Feshbach-Kerman-Koonin theory, the effects of momentum distribution and surface refraction/reflection to the quasifree scattering. Finally, the present method was used to assess the importance of multiple preequilibrium particle emission as a function of projectile energy up to 1 GeV.Comment: 22pages, Revex is used, 10 Postscript figures are available by request from [email protected]

Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess the association between the cortical shape of the mandible, as detected on panoramic radiographs, and trabecular bone structure, as assessed by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), in Japanese adults. Methods Panoramic radiographs and CBCT images of the mandibles of 50 subjects (18 men, 32 women), aged 45–86 years, were evaluated. An experienced oral and maxillofacial radiologist categorized the cortical shape of the mandible as detected on panoramic radiographs as normal, mildly to moderately eroded, and severely eroded cortices, respectively. All mandibles were scanned using CBCT. Four bone structure parameters of the basal portion of the mandible were calculated in three dimensions using an image-analysis system: total bone volume (mm3); cortical bone volume fraction (%); trabecular bone volume fraction (%); fractal dimension. One-way analysis of covariance with Bonferroni correction was employed to evaluate differences in the four bone parameters among the three cortical shape groups. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was calculated to examine correlations between age and cortical and trabecular bone volume fractions. Results Progression of cortical bone erosion was significantly associated with increased trabecular bone volume fraction (P\0.001) and increased fractal dimension(P = 0.01). Cortical bone volume fraction decreased significantly with age (P = 0.04). However, trabecular bone volume fraction tended to increase with age (P = 0.06). Conclusions The change in the trabecular bone structure of the mandible may differ from that of the general skeleton in Japanese adults.2013博士(歯学)松本歯科大

Interleukin (Il)-18 Promotes the Development of Chronic Gastrointestinal Helminth Infection by Downregulating IL-13

Expulsion of the gastrointestinal nematode Trichuris muris is mediated by a T helper (Th) 2 type response involving interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13. Here we show that Th1 response–associated susceptibility involves prior activation of IL-18 and caspase-1 followed by IL-12 and interferon (IFN)-γ in the intestine. IL-18–deficient mice are highly resistant to chronic T. muris infection and in vivo treatment of normal mice with recombinant (r)IL-18 suppresses IL-13 and IL-4 secretion but does not affect IFN-γ

Epidemiological study of the involvement between the condition of periodontal tissue to frailty and social capital

Frailty is a cause of a nursing care status for the elderly people. Generally, elderly people get aged by various diseases such as Non–Communicable Diseases, stress, and lifestyle diseases overlap, and go through a period of frailty to necessary support, state of longterm care required stages. Therefore, efforts to stop weakness during the frailty period which can return to a healthy state, that is, to extend healthy life span is very important in future medical care.Social capital is characterized as a capital of a social organization that leads cooperative action to achieve the objectives of “social connection: network”, “norm”, “trust”, and has been reported a deep relationship with healthy life. Therefore, by examining the relationship between the health condition of the periodontal tissue, and the frailty and social capital, we focused on the influence on the healthy life from the health condition of the periodontal tissue. In other words, in this study, through the hypothesis that the health condition of periodontal tissue correlates with the frailty, and that individualsʼ social capital deteriorates due to frailty, it was aimed to elucidate whether the health condition of the periodontal tissue affects the healthy life span or not. A correlation tendency between the pre frailty state and the number of present teeth and the feeling of oral health of social capital was observed. When the pre frailty state worsened, the number of present teeth increased, and if the oral health condition at the questionnaire was bad, pre frailty state worsened. Further studies are needed to increase the number of cases in the future to determine whether oral condition due to periodontal disease is associated with frailty

We performed a intensive course in an elective subject by the workshop seminar of theproduction for the first time during summer vacation. We open a course in 3 themes every year so farfor four years and each theme piles up improvement every year. We let a student choose 1 themeamong a velocity of the wind vehicle, the large size paper glider and the stirling engine now. Thosethemes have personal production or group production, and there is a thing to design originally orproduction it according to a drawing again, and there is variety. Our students to choose surpass 60%of a class. They learn behaviorally and achieve enough result

Analysis of Transient Acoustic Radiation Field from Pulse-driven Finite Aperture Piezoelectric Transducer

AbstractA method is presented for the precise analysis of the discontinuous transient radiation field from a circular piezoelectric transducer in the liquid medium. The transducer is excited by the step pulse voltage signal, on the contrary to the conventional burst sine pulse signals. Specifically, time domain Rayleigh integral formula is extended to include the medium attenuation to meet the actual phenomena in the far field region. As a results, some peculiar characteristics intrinsic to the transient pulse radiation fields are elucidated. Simulation results are also compared with experiments to verify the validity of the proposed methods
