Reentrant Phase Transitions of the Blume-Emery-Griffiths Model for a Simple Cubic Lattice on the Cellular Automaton
The spin-1 Ising (BEG) model with the nearest-neighbour bilinear and
biquadratic interactions and single-ion anisotropy is simulated on a cellular
automaton which improved from the Creutz cellular automaton(CCA) for a simple
cubic lattice. The simulations have been made for several sets of parameters
and in the and parameter regions.
The re-entrant and double re-entrant phase transitions of the BEG model are
determined from the temperature variations of the thermodynamic quantities
(, and ). The phase diagrams characterizing phase transitions are

First Order Phase Transition in the 3-dimensional Blume-Capel Model on a Cellular Automaton
The first order phase transition of the three-dimensional Blume Capel are
investigated using cooling algorithm which improved from Creutz Cellular
Automaton for the parameter value in the first order phase transition
region. The analysis of the data using the finite-size effect and the histogram
technique indicate that the magnetic susceptibility maxima and the specific

A bilateral and symmetrical variation of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle.
We observed a bilateral and symmetrical variation of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle during the dissection of a 35-year-old female cadaver. The accessory muscle bundles were arranged in a cross. These bundles were found superficial to the mylohyoid muscle and deep in the platysma. Such a variation from perfect symmetry has not been previously reported. To avoid misinterpretation of radiological tests, it is important to be aware of bilateral and symmetrical variations of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle when examining the floor of the mouth and the submental region.</p
The Critical Finite Size Scaling Relation of the Order-Parameter Probability Distribution for the Three-Dimensional Ising Model on the Creutz Cellular Automaton
We study the order parameter probability distribution at the critical point
for the three-dimensional spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising models on the simple cubic
lattice with periodic boundary conditions. The finite size scaling relation for
the order parameter probability distribution is tested and verified numerically
by microcanonical Creutz cellular automata simulations. The state critical
exponent \delta, which characteries the far tail regime of the scaling order
parameter probability distribution, is estimated for 3-d Ising models using the
cellular automaton simulations at the critical temperature. The results are in
good agreement with the monte carlo calculations.Comment: 8 pages 5 figure
Effects of trapidil after crush injury in peripheral nerve.
In this study, we evaluated the effects of trapidil on crush injury by monitoring nitric oxide, malondialdehyde and transforming growth factor-Beta2 levels and by transmission electron microscopy in the rat sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve was compressed for 20 sec by using a jewelers forceps. Trapidil treatment groups were administrated a single dose of trapidil (8 mg/kg) intraperitoneally just after the injury. The crush and crush + trapidil treatment groups were evaluated on the 2nd, 7th, 15th, 30th and 45th days of the post-crush period. On the 7th and 15th days, damage in thin and thick myelinated axons, endoneural edema and mitochondrial swelling were less severe in the trapidil group histopathologically. These findings supported the idea that trapidil prevented cell damage and edema at the injury site. Day/group interaction with regard to serum nitric oxide, malondialdehyde and transforming growth factor-Beta2 levels did not show significant changes.</p
The first optical light from the supernova remnant G182.4+4.3 located in the Galactic anti-centre region
We report the discovery of optical filamentary and diffuse emission from
G182.4+4.3 using 1.5-m Russian-Turkish telescope. We present the optical CCD
images obtained with Halpha filter revealing the presence of mainly filamentary
structure at the northwest, filamentary and diffuse structure at the centre,
south and north regions of the remnant. The bright optical filaments located in
northwest and south regions are well correlated with the prominent radio shell
of the remnant strongly suggesting their association. From the flux-calibrated
CCD imaging, the average [SII]/Halpha ratio is found to be ~0.9 and ~1.1 for
south and northwest regions, which clearly indicates that the emission
originates from the shock heated gas. We also present the results of X-ray data
obtained from XMM-Newton that show diffuse emission with a very low luminosity
of ~7.3x10^31 erg s^-1 at a distance of 3 kpc in 0.3-10 keV energy band.
Furthermore, we find a surprisingly young age of ~4400 yr for this remnant with

Optical Imaging and Spectroscopic Observation of the Galactic Supernova Remnant G85.9-0.6
Optical CCD imaging with H and [SII] filters and spectroscopic
observations of the galactic supernova remnant G85.9-0.6 have been performed
for the first time. The CCD image data are taken with the 1.5m Russian-Turkish
Telescope (RTT150) at TUBITAK National Observatory (TUG) and spectral data are
taken with the Bok 2.3 m telescope on Kitt Peak, AZ.
The images are taken with narrow-band interference filters H, [SII]
and their continuum. [SII]/H ratio image is performed. The ratio
obtained from [SII]/H is found to be 0.42, indicating that the
remnant interacts with HII regions. G85.9-0.6 shows diffuse-shell morphology.
[SII] average flux ratio is calculated from the
spectra, and the electron density is obtained to be 395 . From
[OIII]/H ratio, shock velocity has been estimated, pre-shock density of
, explosion energy of ergs,
interstellar extinction of , and neutral hydrogen column density

Scaling behavior of the directed percolation universality class
In this work we consider five different lattice models which exhibit
continuous phase transitions into absorbing states. By measuring certain
universal functions, which characterize the steady state as well as the
dynamical scaling behavior, we present clear numerical evidence that all models
belong to the universality class of directed percolation. Since the considered
models are characterized by different interaction details the obtained
universal scaling plots are an impressive manifestation of the universality of
