Automatic Generation of Matrix Element Derivatives for Tight Binding Models
Tight binding (TB) models are one approach to the quantum mechanical many
particle problem. An important role in TB models is played by hopping and
overlap matrix elements between the orbitals on two atoms, which of course
depend on the relative positions of the atoms involved. This dependence can be
expressed with the help of Slater-Koster parameters, which are usually taken
from tables. Recently, a way to generate these tables automatically was
published. If TB approaches are applied to simulations of the dynamics of a
system, also derivatives of matrix elements can appear. In this work we give
general expressions for first and second derivatives of such matrix elements.
Implemented in a computer program they obviate the need to type all the
required derivatives of all occuring matrix elements by hand.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figure
The Effectiveness of the Use of E-learning in Multimedia Classes to Improve Vocational Students\u27 Learning Achievement and Motivation
Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dalam pendidikan telah membuka jalan bagi munculnya metodologi pengajaran dan pembelajaran baru. E-learning, yang mengacu pada penggunaan TIK untuk tujuan pembelajaran, menjadi area penting yang ditekankan dalam pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan E-learning untuk meningkatkan prestasi dan motivasi belajar siswa di Sekolah kejuruan. Metode kuasi ekperimen digunakan pada penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan yaitu siswa kelas X di SMK Veteran Sukoharjo, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas Multimedia pada pelajaran komputer dan jaringan dasar pada topik sharing devices. Sampel kelas dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling acak. Kelas eksperimen terdiri dari 31 siswa, sedangkan kelas kontrol terdiri dari 33 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan dua rumusan masalah, yaitu: (1) Bagaimana keefektifan media E-learning untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa?; (2) Bagaimana keefektifan media E-learning untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa?. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah Uji Independent T Test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media E-learning secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan prestasi dan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran komputer dan jaringan dasar pada topik sharing devices. Selain itu, penggunaan E-learning juga dapat meningkatkan partisipasi siswa terhadap pembelajaran
Aplikasi Model Optimasi Untuk Meningkatkan Efisiensi Pengangkutan Sampah Di Kota Cilegon
Most cities in developing countries face inefficiency problem of waste collection service run by government. The purpose of this study is to estimate the efficiency of waste collection service and the capital cost requirement in 2019 to cover 100% waste collection service in Cilegon City. The efficiency is calculated by comparing the current costs with the optimization costs by the model of vehicle routing problem. The result shows that the obtained inefficiency reaches 37,48% which largely comes from the labor component. To cover all of resident in Cilegon City, the city needs to increase their budget allocation as much as IDR 33,884 billion in 2019
Models of Assignment on Endocrine and Reproduction Block (1.5), Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Indonesia (FM IUI)
Background: Doctor\u27s competency in Indonesia covers seven pillars namely noble professionalism and ethics, self-development and selfcontrol, effective communication, information management, scientificfoundation of medicine, clinical skills, and problem management on public health. One of the efforts to achieve the competency especially on ethics, self development and information management competency, FM IUI has used assignment model in Block of 1.5.Objective: The study was conducted to describe the models of assignment to increase the ability of writing skill citation and bibliography using Mendeley, to avoid plagiarism using VIPER and to access journal using Clinical Key.Methods: This descriptive study focused on all students following Block 1.5 which consists of 45 male students and 95 female students. The research instrument was questionnaire for collecting data from all respondents after assignment finished.Results: Three models of assignment is used to increase the ability in writing using Mendeley, to avoid plagiarism using VIPER and to increase in accessing electronic journal (ClinicalKey). First week on Block of 1.5 was to introduce the assignment and practical work using CinicalKey, Mendeley and VIPER. The comparison between before and after assignment to use Mendeley, VIPER and ClinicalKey analyzed from questionnaire.Conclusion: The percentage of students in using Mendeley, ClinicalKey and VIPER has increased up to 90 %
