Seismic fragility of low ductile partially infilled reinforced concrete frame in Malaysia
The purpose of this study is to develop analytical fragility curves for low ductile partially infilled reinforced concrete (RC) frames building under seismic ground motions. Three RC frames with their ground story open and masonry walls infilled in all of the upper stories (pilotis) comprise of three-, six- and nine-stories were selected, modelled, and analysed representing common building type in Malaysia. These frames were designed in accordance with BS 8110-1997 code specification. 45 seismic ground motions were used and subdivided into three groups namely low (L), medium (M) and high (H) records based on peak ground acceleration (PGA) over peak ground velocity (PGV) ratio. ETABS 2015 was used to perform Incremental Dynamic Collapse Analysis (IDA) with increment every 0.1g until 0.5g. The PGA was compared to the maximum inter-story drift demand obtained from nonlinear time history analysis and also to the three levels of performance-based seismic designs, namely, immediate occupancy (IO), life safety (LS), and collapse prevention (CP) to assess structural performance. The results show that as the height of structure increases, the intensity of damage decreases. Therefore, 3 story is the most damaging structure followed by 6-story and 9-story. For all types of structure assessed, the most devastating type of earthquake records is M. For 3 and 9 story, there are no difference observed between IO and LS. This shows that the preserved strength was very small where IO suddenly jumps straight to CP with increasing intensity. As for 6 story there is a clear distance between IO, LS and CP and this shows that the structure is not very fragile

Development of animal feed from waste to wealth using Napier Grass and Palm Acid Oil (PAO) from Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME)
This study is to investigate the effectiveness of feeding cattle with a mixture of palm acid oil (PAO) from palm oil mill effluent (POME), water
lettuce, coconut waste and Napier grass. These materials will be mixed and form a feed formulation. This study also wants to develop a cattle feed
that will help to reduce the water lettuce and coconut waste negative impact to the environment. Besides that, the best formulation of the cattle feed
will be determined. The amount of each material will be different for each formula. This cattle feed will use the waste to follow the Green
Technology. The formulation of the feed is based from Department of Veterinary Services Feeding Guide book. This study is focus on reducing
the negative impact to the environment by utilizing the waste of POME, coconut waste and water lettuce. There are three formulation that was
tested on cattle to determine the most suitable formulation. The formulation has different amount of each material. The nutrient in each formulation
was calculated based on feeding guides by Department of Veterinary entitled nutrient composition of Malaysian feed materials and guides to
feeding of cattle and goats. There are four cattle that was involved in this study. Three cattle were fed with the formulation. Meanwhile, the other
one was fed with its regular feeds which is Napier Grass only and act as the control. The result obtained will be compared with the control cattle.
The feed intake of each cattle was recorded. The result shows that the formulation is good for high growth performance of the cattle compare to
the regular feeds. This is because the formulation has more nutrients in it. In fact, it has more nutrient than the cattle need to grow. The control
cattle did not gain as much as formulation A. Thus, this prove that the formulation is effective compare to the regular feeds and it is cheaper. Apart
from that, the high growth performance can help to cater the high demand of meats consumption
Biodegradable polymer composite for cosmetic patch
Patches has recently emerged and attracting more attention for its versatility in many areas such as cosmetic, pharmaceutical and medical. Patches can either be used to administer selected drug to skin or deliver some beneficial ingredients for cosmetic purposes. With that, as polymer is used as the matrix for patches, the polymer selected must be non-toxic, have adhesive property and non-irritative to the skin. Currently, synthetic polymer had been used as the matrix. However, as time passes, people are more concern with the environment, therefore biopolymer is chosen over synthetic polymer as they are degradable and also safe to use. Nowadays, as consumers are demanding for a more effective product that is not only good for appearance but also the health of the skin, studies had been done on many kinds of active ingredient that will give the best effect to the skin. Thus in this paper, patches made up of different combinations of polymer and active ingredients, as well as fabrication method currently used to produce patches will be discussed

Determining artificial ageing methods and evaluating properties of universal composite resin: a review and proposed protocol / Nur Fatima Azzahara Mohamad Habibullah ... [et al.]
Objective: Our aim is to propose a method for determining a more convenient artificial ageing (AA) protocol, which may be used to compare the optical / mechanical properties of universal to conventional composite. Methods: Artificial ageing (AA) protocol was adapted from (Alp et al., 2018) for thermocycling and (Jasin et al., 2018) for static immersion, which arbitrarily simulating 6 and 7 months of oral environment, respectively. In phase 1, Filtek Z350XT will be used to be immersed in coffee solution (test group) with distilled (control group) water. Colour changes will be measured and calculated using the CIEDE2000 formula and data will be statistically analysed to determine a meeting time point of colour change occurrence. Measurement will be repeated thrice to validate the new static emersion method. In phase 2, this new static immersion AA protocol will be used to compare Omnichroma's® colour stability with translucency to the Filtek Z350XT®. In phase 3, SEM EDS will be used to measure quantitative and qualitatively the occurrence of subsurface properties changes in Omnichroma® and Filtek Z350XT®. Finally, the discs’ microhardness will be evaluated. Significance: Presently, it is very difficult to precisely simulate the oral environment. In comparison to thermocycling, static immersion is a more convenient AA method. Establishing an evidence-based protocol may well potentially serve as a guide for researchers to assuredly select the more simplified AA protocol for future dental material development and clinical usage scenarios
