    The purpose of this study is to understand what factors are considered for customers when choosing to stay at Guest House Griya Putri Utari Malang compared to other guest houses in Malang. The information used for this study was obtained directly from respondents who are customers of Griya Putri Utari through filling out a questionnaire. The number of respondents used in this sample was 150 people. In this study, we use the factor analysis method as a tool to analyze the data. This study revealed that customer loyalty at Guest House Griya Putri Utari Malang is influenced by 7 factors. The first factor is External Facilities. (2) Factors Affecting Location.     Throughput Scaling Of Convolution For Error-Tolerant Multimedia Applications

    Convolution and cross-correlation are the basis of filtering and pattern or template matching in multimedia signal processing. We propose two throughput scaling options for any one-dimensional convolution kernel in programmable processors by adjusting the imprecision (distortion) of computation. Our approach is based on scalar quantization, followed by two forms of tight packing in floating-point (one of which is proposed in this paper) that allow for concurrent calculation of multiple results. We illustrate how our approach can operate as an optional pre- and post-processing layer for off-the-shelf optimized convolution routines. This is useful for multimedia applications that are tolerant to processing imprecision and for cases where the input signals are inherently noisy (error tolerant multimedia applications). Indicative experimental results with a digital music matching system and an MPEG-7 audio descriptor system demonstrate that the proposed approach offers up to 175% increase in processing throughput against optimized (full-precision) convolution with virtually no effect in the accuracy of the results. Based on marginal statistics of the input data, it is also shown how the throughput and distortion can be adjusted per input block of samples under constraints on the signal-to-noise ratio against the full-precision convolution.Comment: IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, 201

    Reliable Linear, Sesquilinear and Bijective Operations On Integer Data Streams Via Numerical Entanglement

    A new technique is proposed for fault-tolerant linear, sesquilinear and bijective (LSB) operations on MM integer data streams (M3M\geq3), such as: scaling, additions/subtractions, inner or outer vector products, permutations and convolutions. In the proposed method, the MM input integer data streams are linearly superimposed to form MM numerically-entangled integer data streams that are stored in-place of the original inputs. A series of LSB operations can then be performed directly using these entangled data streams. The results are extracted from the MM entangled output streams by additions and arithmetic shifts. Any soft errors affecting any single disentangled output stream are guaranteed to be detectable via a specific post-computation reliability check. In addition, when utilizing a separate processor core for each of the MM streams, the proposed approach can recover all outputs after any single fail-stop failure. Importantly, unlike algorithm-based fault tolerance (ABFT) methods, the number of operations required for the entanglement, extraction and validation of the results is linearly related to the number of the inputs and does not depend on the complexity of the performed LSB operations. We have validated our proposal in an Intel processor (Haswell architecture with AVX2 support) via fast Fourier transforms, circular convolutions, and matrix multiplication operations. Our analysis and experiments reveal that the proposed approach incurs between 0.03%0.03\% to 7%7\% reduction in processing throughput for a wide variety of LSB operations. This overhead is 5 to 1000 times smaller than that of the equivalent ABFT method that uses a checksum stream. Thus, our proposal can be used in fault-generating processor hardware or safety-critical applications, where high reliability is required without the cost of ABFT or modular redundancy.Comment: to appear in IEEE Trans. on Signal Processing, 201

    Robust Modeling of Epistemic Mental States

    This work identifies and advances some research challenges in the analysis of facial features and their temporal dynamics with epistemic mental states in dyadic conversations. Epistemic states are: Agreement, Concentration, Thoughtful, Certain, and Interest. In this paper, we perform a number of statistical analyses and simulations to identify the relationship between facial features and epistemic states. Non-linear relations are found to be more prevalent, while temporal features derived from original facial features have demonstrated a strong correlation with intensity changes. Then, we propose a novel prediction framework that takes facial features and their nonlinear relation scores as input and predict different epistemic states in videos. The prediction of epistemic states is boosted when the classification of emotion changing regions such as rising, falling, or steady-state are incorporated with the temporal features. The proposed predictive models can predict the epistemic states with significantly improved accuracy: correlation coefficient (CoERR) for Agreement is 0.827, for Concentration 0.901, for Thoughtful 0.794, for Certain 0.854, and for Interest 0.913.Comment: Accepted for Publication in Multimedia Tools and Application, Special Issue: Socio-Affective Technologie

    The equilibrium of responsibility between individual and social life in the Surah Al-Ashr (critical study on Bint Al-Syâti’ view in Surah Al-Ashr)

    Surat al-Ashr represents as the content of al-Qur'an which called by Jawâmi’ al-Kalim (short word, meaningful and comprehension). It was proved by the structural arrangement that contained expostulation wording clearly and definite, that is starting by oath, instrumen of al-Ta’kid and the narrative messages of verses contain a perfect vision. To understand the meaning of Surah al-Ashr, the writer uses critical study of the interpretation methods used by Islamic contemporary magnate, namely Bint al-Syâthi’. She has not only a methodology of interpretation but also she has magnum opus, namely al-Tafsir al-Bayânî li al-Qur’ân al-Karîm. So it is fairly when Bint al-Syâthi’ becomes the object of research study. The methodology of her exegesis visibly focus on the linguistic analysis that includes internal and external study of the text, which crystallized into 4 points important as the of interpretation instruments. Incidentally Surah al-Ashr includes in one of his objects of interpretation. In general, Bint al-Syâthi’s view on Surah al-Ashr was found the concept of individual responsibility and social’s. This kind of analysis is new and it has never revealed by previous Mufassir. Therefore based on the difference views between Bint al-Syâthi’ with others, the writer will reveal her theory of interpretation that was known as the linguistic analysis. That is using words analysis and structure’s in order to see the differences and similarities between Bint al-Syâthi’s views with other Mufassir in the interpreting on Surah al-Ashr

    Tata letak fasilitas produksi merupakan salah satu factor penting dalam sebuah perusahaan,karena hal tersebut berdampak pada pengoptimalan efisiensi proses produksi. Semakinbesarefisiensimakawaktu proses produksi akan lebih cepat dan waktu menganggur akan lebih sedikit. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui layout fasilitas produksi apa yang diterapkan oleh IKOT Qolbun Salim, bagaimana layout fasilitas produksi yang ada di IKOT Qolbun Salim dari segi efisiensinya, dan bagaimana meningkatkan efisiensi layout fasilitas produksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pembahasan keseimbangan lini yaitu dengan menganalisis layout fasilitas produksi yang diterapkan oleh perusahan, dan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk menyelesaikan proses produksi obat tradisional. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa perusahaan menggunakan layout garis, karena proses pekerjaannya harus berurutan, dan pekerjaan lainnya tidak bias dikerjakan jika pekerjaan yang mendahului belum diselesaikan. Analisis efisiensi layout produksi dengan waktu siklus kerja maksimal yang diterapkan perusahaan yaitu 9 menit, menunjukan presentase efisiensi sebesar 12% sedangkan presentase waktu penundaanya sebesar 88%. Untuk meningkatkan efisiensi layout produksi, perusahaan harus menerapakan siklus kerja maksimal yaitu 1.5 menit dengan presentase efisiensi 98,3% dan penundaan 1,7%. Saran yang dapat diberikan kepada perusahaan adalah perusahaan menerapkan siklus kerja terkecil untuk mendapatkan efisiensi yang lebih besar, dan juga waktu penundaan lebih sedikit. Mengevaluasi kembali layout yang diterapakan, apakah sudah tepat dan meringkas stasiun kerja yang dekat atau mirip cara kerjanya. Memeperhatikan produktifitas karyawan dan mesin, sehingga dapat meminimalkan timbulnya hambatan yang mengganggu proses produksi. Kata Kunci: Layout, Fasilitas Produksi, Efisiensi

    Inclusion Complex of Theophylline with β−Cyclodextrin: Influence of Method of Preparation

    Inclusion complexes of Theophylline (THP) with β-cyclodextrin (β−CD) were prepared in order to improve the solubility and bioavailability of the poorly water soluble drug. Solution phase interaction was studied by UV-Vis and Fluorescence techniques. The linear Benesi– Hildebrand plot indicated the formation of only one type of complex with a host-guest composition of 1:1 in the solution. The effect of method of preparation of the THP-β−CD inclusion complexes (ICs) was investigated. The ICs were prepared by the conventional methods of physical mixing (PM), kneading (KN), co-precipitation (CP) and freeze drying (FD) and also by the novel approach of microwave irradiation method (MW). The solid inclusion complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques such as FTIR, XRD, DSC, SEM and 1H NMR. The characterization techniques indicated the formation of true inclusion complexes in case of CP, FD and MW. The in vitro dissolution rate of THP was considerably enhanced when the inclusion complexes were employed.
