Improving Students' Speaking Ability Under Total Physical Response at Class VII of SMP Negeri 8 Kendari
The reason to conduct this study was to improve student's speaking ability at class VII A in SMPN 8 Kendari by using Total Physical Response Technique. There were 24 students as the subject of this study. This study applied Action Research which involved planning, action, observation, and reflection. The researcher designed three cycles to see the students' improvement in speaking ability. To get accurate data, the researcher used four kinds of instruments such as speaking test, observation sheet, tape recorder, and note taking. Analytical and statistical analysis was used to measure the students' speaking ability. In analytical analysis the researcher examined what found in observation sheet and note taking. While, in statistical analysis the researcher calculated what found in students' speaking test. After analyzing the data, this research found that there was a significant improvement on students' speaking ability under TPR. It was indicated by the students' criteria of success 65% was achieved. It also found that under TPR students were not afraid to express their idea anymore, they seemed to enjoy the activity as they understand how to be an instructor and performer, and the students more active to participate all the activity in classroom

Students’ Speaking Problem at the Fourth Semester of English Study Program in Sembilanbelas November Kolaka
ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research were to find out the students’ speaking problemsat the fourth semester of English Study Program in Sembilanbelas November University and factors affecting them. This research employed case study with qualitative approach. There were 26 participants at class A of the fourth semester in English Study Program. Those participants were selected through purposive sampling technique. To gain the data interview, observation sheet, and students’ transcript report were used. The result showed that there were four problems that were experienced by students at the class A fourth semester first was inhibition, when speaking the students tend to be worried about making mistake, getting criticism from others, and shyness. The second was lack of ideas; the students tend to be silent participants in speaking due to lack of vocabulary and grammar. The third was low or uneven participation in speaking. Here, only few students participate the speaking activities while other remaining silent. And the last was students got difficulty to speak because of the influencing of mother-tongue use. There were two factors affecting the students’ speaking ability such as internal and external factors. The internal factors here the students have low motivation in speaking while the external factors were the students’ condition in the classroom
The Effect Of Pow-Tega As Interactive Technique To Improve Students’ Speaking Ability At Senior High School Student
Speaking is the art of conveying ideas and feelings by generating and sharing meaning through oral contact. Pow-Tega is a speaking skill teaching technique that combines a power teaching technique with a game to allow students to practice their speaking skills. Students' focus and excitement in speaking are developed using the power teaching technique. Students were inspired to study while playing the game because the classroom environment was more colorful. Researchers used a quantitative method by assigning pre-experimental studies with one group pre-test and post-test to determine the impact of the Pow-Tega technique on students' speaking performance. This study included 33 students as participants. The researchers used a spoken test and video recording to gather data. Before beginning treatment, researchers gave all of the samples a pre-test, then began treatment by using the Pow-Tega Technique for six meetings, and eventually, researchers gave all of the samples a post-test. The results revealed that the mean post-test score (3,93) was higher than the pre-test score (3,39). Furthermore, at the significant stage of 0,05 and degree of freedom -19, the ttest (6,75) was higher than the ttable (2.093). H0 has been refused, while H1 has been accepted. That means there was a significant effect of students’ speaking ability after they were taught by using Pow-Tega

A NEED ANALYSIS OF LEARNING ENGLISH FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS
English learning materials for Computer Science Department students which are suitable with learners’ needs are scarcely available. Thus, a study on analysis of students’ need is necessary. The purpose of this study was to find out students’ need on English based on ESP approach of Computer Science Study Program at USN Kolaka. This study used need analysis with survey design. The instruments used in this study were a semi-close ended questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire was distributed to 50 respondents and four students were interviewed. All of them were from Computer Science students at Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. It was found out that the students’ goal to learn English is to compete in the world of work. The expected level of English is advanced level. The priority skills are speaking and reading skills focusing on vocabularies related to computer science. In speaking skill activity, most students prefer to make a dialogue and then practice with friends. Meanwhile, in reading skills, students prefer activities that train their understanding and concentration like answering questions from a reading text
PREVALENSI KELELAHAN PADA KELUARGA PASIEN DI RUANG RAWAT INAP RS IZZA CIKAMPEK DIMASA PANDEMI COVID-19
Fatigue in the patient's family can occur when accompanying patients who are hospitalized. This is caused by factors of quality of rest is disturbed. Overcoming fatigue can be handled by providing health information and practicing relaxation techniques, but unresolved fatigue can have an impact on emotional, economic and physical aspects, especially on health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence of family fatigue in inpatient rooms during the pandemic. The design of this research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. The study population was the entire family of patients who were treated in an inpatient room during the pandemic, using an accidental sampling technique with a sample of 94 respondents. This study used a Visual Analoque Scale For Fatique (VAS –F) questionnaire. The results of the study were based on the frequency distribution of the majority who experienced mild (41.5%), moderate (36.2%) and severe (22.3%). The majority prevalence was based on age, late adulthood with mild fatigue 15 respondents, female sex with mild fatigue 21 respondents, high school/vocational education education with mild fatigue 21 respondents, working respondents with mild fatigue 23 respondents, relationship status as a child with mild fatigue 13 respondents. The conclusion shows that the majority of patients' families experience mild fatigue.Kelelahan pada keluarga pasien dapat terjadi saat mendampingi pasien yang di rawat inap di rumah sakit. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kualitas istirahat terganggu. Mengatasi kelelahan dapat dilakukan penanganan dengan memberi informasi kesehatan dan mempraktikkan teknik relaksasi, namun kelelahan yang tidak teratasi dapat memberi dampak dalam aspek emosional, ekonomi dan aspek fisik terutama pada kesehatan saat pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui prevalensi kelelahan keluarga di ruang rawat inap di masa pandemi. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh keluarga pasien yang dirawat di ruang rawat inap selama masa pandemi., menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dengan sampel 94 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner Visual Analoque Scale For Fatique (VAS –F). Hasil penelitian berdasarkan distribusi frekuensi mayoritas yang mengalami kelelahan ringan (41,5%), sedang (36,2%) dan berat (22,3%). Prevalensi mayoritas berdasarkan usia, dewasa akhir dengan kelelahan ringan 15 responden, jenis kelamin perempuan dengan kelelahan ringan 21 responden, pendidikan SMA/SMK dengan kelelahan ringan 21 responden, responden bekerja dengan kelelahan ringan 23 responden, status hubungan sebagai anak dengan kelelahan ringan 13 responden. Kesimpulan menunjukan keluarga pasien mayoritas mengalami kelelahan ringan
