The responsiveness of import demand for Honduran coffee to changing economic environments in its main trading partners was studied. THE U.S. SUGAR INDUSTRY UNDER EU AND DOHA TRADE LIBERALIZATION

This study evaluates potential reforms of the EU and some liberalization policies under the Doha agenda proposal. Results indicate that EU sugar policy reforms will increase the Caribbean sugar price from 8.7 to 9.96 cents, but will not affect the U.S. sugar industry. If the world sugar industry is liberalized on the basis of the WTO-Doha framework proposal, U.S. sugar imports will increase to 1.9 million tons and wholesale price will decrease from 24.89 to 23.79 cents per pound. Under this scenario, it is also expected that the Caribbean price will increase from 8.7 to 12.1 cents per pound. Pengembangan Media Animasi Menggunakan Adobe Flash CS5 Untuk Materi Pembelajaran Siklus Hidrologi Pada Mata Pelajaran Geografi Kelas X-IS Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA)

Recenty, technology has experienced very fast developments, one of them is in the educational field. A teacher as a person who manage the learning activities must be able to use the technology to design and develop media in the learning process. The learning media have a very important role in determining the success of the learning process, in which there have many kinds of learning media today. This research aimed at knowing the criteria, the development process, and the effectiveness of animation learning media of the material of hydrology cycle. The method used in this research was research and development (R&D) that was a research method used to create a certain product and to test the effectiveness of the product with a prosedural stage which referred to the development model of Dick and Carey. The results of the research showed that the criteria of animation learning media must be full color, accompanied by music, have a voice effect, have text/explanation, have motivation, and display the Core Competencies (Kompetensi Inti/KI), and the Basic Competencies (Kompetensi Dasar/KD), and the Learning Objectives, that finally the animation learning media which have been validated by the experts and testified as proper to be used in the learning process are created. The results of experimental research were shown on the average numbers of pretest and post test of the control class (not being given with a special treatment) and the experimental class (being given with a special treatment “animation learning media”), which were 35.36 (the control class) and 34.05 (the experimental class) for the pretest average, 48.29 (the control class) and 66.48 (the experimental class) for the post test average. Based on the test of Mann Whitney, it showed that there was difference in the learning result between the control class and the experimental class, in which the experimental class experienced an average increase as much as 32.43, whereas, the control class only experienced an average increase as much as 12.98, so, the average increase of the learning results the experimental research was higher than the control's one. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animation learning media on the material of hidrology cycle is more effective than the conventional learning (no use of learing media)

Koherensi Dalam Pidato Donald Trump: Suatu Analisis Wacana

This skripsi was made as requirement to obtain bachelor Degree in English in Sam Ratulangi University. This research is entitled Coherence of Donald Trump‟s speeches. It is an attempt to analyze and explain the items of coherence. The objectives of this research is to classify, and analyze the items of coherence of Donald Trump‟s speeches. There are three steps to finish this research. First step is preparation, the writer finds 4 speeches among others 1) Victory Speech of Donald Trump, 2) Donald Trump‟s Speech on National Security in Philadelphia, 3) Donald Trump Gives First Campaign Speech Since Hiring Bannon & Conway , and 4) Donald Trump Law & Order Speech. Second step The writer reads it several times and gains an understanding of speeches and identify aspects of coherence that exist in the 4 speeches in according to the theory of Alba-Juez (2009), then classifies the speeches that have been identified in this aspect of coherence. Third step the writer analyzes the data that has been collected and identified according to the theory of Alba-Juez (2009) on discourse analysis. The theory consist of two aspect, they are: mark Coherence and unmark coherence The writer conducts this research by using descriptive method. The data were taken from the Speeches of Donald Trump and analyzed base on Juez‟ (2009). The finding show that there are 261 marked coherence ( 171 examples of addition, 23 examples of contrast, 11 examples of casuality, 15 examples of condition, 14 examples of conclusion, 7 examples of tempo, 9 examples of intensity, 2 examples of comparison, 9 examples of validation ) but there is no marked coherence on instrument and similiaritas. In addition unmarked coherence is not found in the data
