Multiple stellar populations in Galactic globular clusters: observational evidence
An increasing number of both photometric and spectroscopic observations over
the last years have shown the existence of distinct sub-populations in many
Galactic globular clusters and shattered the paradigm of globulars hosting
single, simple stellar populations.
These multiple populations manifest themselves in a split of different
evolutionary sequences in the cluster color-magnitude diagrams and in
star-to-star abundance variations. In this paper we will summarize the

Practice parameters for the treatment of colonic diverticular disease: Italian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery (SICCR) guidelines
The mission of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (SICCR) is to optimize patient care. Providing evidence-based practice guidelines is therefore of key importance. About the present report it concernes the SICCR practice guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of diverticular disease of the colon. The guidelines are not intended to define the sole standard of care but to provide evidence-based recommendations regarding the available therapeutic options
CT diagnosis of small bowel obstruction caused by internal hernia from persistent attachment of a Meckel's diverticulum to the umbilicus by the obliterated omphalomesenteric duct
We report a case of small bowel obstruction (SBO) caused by internal hernia from persistent attachment of a Meckel's diverticulum (MD) to the umbilicus by the obliterated omphalomesenteric duct that was diagnosed by multidetector CT and confirmed during laparoscopic surgery. Although clinical, pathological and radiological features of MD and its complications are well known, the diagnosis of MD is difficult to establish preoperatively. CT findings that allow the diagnosis of this very unusual cause of SBO are presented here with laparoscopic surgery correlation
HST absolute Proper Motions of NGC 6681 (M70) and the Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy
We have measured absolute proper motions for the three populations
intercepted in the direction of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 6681: the
cluster itself, the Sagittarius dwarf spheroidal galaxy and the field. For this
we used Hubble Space Telescope ACS/WFC and WFC3/UVIS optical imaging data
separated by a temporal baseline of 5.464 years. Five background galaxies were
used to determine the zero point of the absolute-motion reference frame. The
resulting absolute proper motion of NGC 6681 is ()=() \masyr. This is the first estimate
ever made for this cluster. For the Sgr dSph we obtain
() \masyr,
consistent with previous measurements and with the values predicted by
theoretical models. The absolute proper motion of the Galaxy population in our
field of view is () \masyr. In this study we also use background Sagittarius Dwarf
Spheroidal stars to determine the rotation of the globular cluster in the plane
of the sky and find that NGC 6681 is not rotating significantly:\ kms at a distance of 1 arcmin from the cluster

HST astrometry in the Orion Nebula Cluster: census of low-mass runaways
We present a catalog of high-precision proper motions in the Orion Nebula
Cluster (ONC), based on Treasury Program observations with the Hubble Space
Telescope's (HST) ACS/WFC camera. Our catalog contains 2,454 objects in the
magnitude range of , thus probing the stellar masses
of the ONC from 0.4 down to 0.02 over an area
of 550 arcmin. We provide a number of internal velocity dispersion
estimates for the ONC that indicate a weak dependence on the stellar location
and mass. There is good agreement with the published velocity dispersion
estimates, although nearly all of them (including ours at
and mas yr) might be biased by the overlapping young
stellar populations of Orion A. We identified 4 new ONC candidate runaways
based on HST and the Gaia DR2 data, all with masses less than 1
. The total census of known candidate runaway sources is 10 -- one of
the largest samples ever found in any Milky Way open star cluster.
Surprisingly, none of them has the tangential velocity exceeding 20 km
s. If most of them indeed originated in the ONC, it may compel
re-examination of dynamical processes in very young star clusters. It appears
that the mass function of the ONC is not significantly affected by the lost
