L'apport des relevés stratigraphiques à Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. L'exemple du Sacrifice de Noé
Communication présentée lors des journées d'études consacrées à l'Actualité de la recherche en peinture murale, organisées par le musée des Monuments français les 25 et 26 octobre 2011, à la Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoineInternational audienceWithin the framework of the interdisciplinary research program dedicated to the paintings of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe's nave, the team of the Centre d'Études Supérieures de Civilisation Médiévale of Poitiers has realized many stratigraphic drawings. Thanks to those drawings, it's possible to document and visualize the project's modifications, the more recent layers and the different stages of the painting process. The study of the Sacrifice of Noah demonstrates the invaluable contributions of this type of drawing in the stylistic and iconographic study of Romanesque paintings.

Subtleties in the quasi-classical calculation of Hawking radiation
he quasi-classical method of deriving Hawking radiation is investigated. In
order to recover the original Hawking temperature one must take into account a
previously ignored contribution coming from the temporal part of the action.
This contribution plus a contribution coming from the spatial part of the
action gives the correct temperature.Comment: 6 pages revtex. Honorable Mention in 2008 GRF essay contest, typos

Thermal radiation of various gravitational backgrounds
We present a simple and general procedure for calculating the thermal
radiation coming from any stationary metric. The physical picture is that the
radiation arises as the quasi--classical tunneling of particles through a
gravitational barrier. We show that our procedure can reproduce the results of
Hawking and Unruh radiation. We also show that under certain kinds of
coordinate transformations the temperature of the thermal radiation will change
in the case of the Schwarzschild black holes. In addition we apply our
procedure to a rotating/orbiting system and show that in this case there is no
radiation, which has experimental implications for the polarization of
particles in circular accelerators.Comment: 6 pages revtex, added references, publication version. To be

Semiclassical Methods for Hawking Radiation from a Vaidya Black Hole
We derive the general form of Hawking temperature for Vaidya black hole in
the tunneling pictures. This kind of black hole is regarded as the description
of a more realistic one since it's time dependent decreasing mass due to the
evaporation process. Clearly, the temperature would be time dependent as our
findings. We use the semiclassical methods, namely radial null geodesic and
complex paths methods. Both methods are found to give the same results. Then,
we discuss the possible form of corresponding entropy.Comment: REVTeX 4, 11 pages, no figures, accepted for publication in IJMPA;

Hawking Radiation as Tunneling: the D-dimensional rotating case
The tunneling method for the Hawking radiation is revisited and applied to
the dimensional rotating case. Emphasis is given to covariance of results.
Certain ambiguities afflicting the procedure are resolved.Comment: Talk delivered at the Seventh International Workshop Quantum Field

Diagnostic Accuracy of Five Serologic Tests for Strongyloides stercoralis Infection
Background:The diagnosis of Strongyloides stercoralis (S. stercoralis) infection is hampered by the suboptimal sensitivity of fecal-based tests. Serological methods are believed to be more sensitive, although assessing their accuracy is difficult because of the lack of sensitivity of a fecal-based reference ("gold") standard. Methods:The sensitivity and specificity of 5 serologic tests for S. stercoralis (in-house IFAT, NIE-ELISA and NIE-LIPS and the commercially available Bordier-ELISA and IVD-ELISA) were assessed on 399 cryopreserved serum samples. Accuracy was measured using fecal results as the primary reference standard, but also using a composite reference standard (based on a combination of tests). Results:According to the latter standard, the most sensitive test was IFAT, with 94.6% sensitivity (91.2-96.9), followed by IVD-ELISA (92.3%, 87.7-96.9). The most specific test was NIE-LIPS, with specificity 99.6% (98.9-100), followed by IVD-ELISA (97.4%, 95.5-99.3). NIE-LIPS did not cross-react with any of the specimens from subjects with other parasitic infections. NIE-LIPS and the two commercial ELISAs approach 100% specificity at a cut off level that maintains ≥70% sensitivity.Conclusions:NIE-LIPS is the most accurate serologic test for the diagnosis of S. stercoralis infection. IFAT and each of the ELISA tests are sufficiently accurate, above a given cut off, for diagnosis, prevalence studies and inclusion in clinical trials.Fil: Bisoffi, Zeno. Massive charged particle's tunneling from spherical charged black hole
We generalize the Parikh-Wilczek scheme to the tunneling of a massive charged
particle from a general spherical charged black hole. We obtain that the
tunneling probability depends on the energy, the mass and the charge of the
particle. In particular, the modified Hawking temperature is related to the
charge. Only at the leading order approximation can the standard Hawking
temperature be reproduced. We take the Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m black hole as an
example to clarify our points of view, and find that the accumulation of
Hawking radiation makes it approach an extreme black hole.Comment: 10 pages, no figures; v2: a minor typo corrected; v3: 11 pages,

On Tunnelling Through the Black Hole Horizon
It is shown here that there is no way for particle creation to occur by
quantum tunneling through an infinitesimal neighborhood of the black hole
horizon. This result is a trivial consequence of the regularity of the horizon,
the equivalence principle and the general covariance of the relativistic theory
of gravity. Moreover, we also confirm the less trivial statement that no
particle creation by quantum tunneling through the black hole horizon is
possible independent of the size of the presupposed tunneling domain.Comment: 21 pages, new section is adde
