Intralesion Triamcinolon Injection Therapy on Esophageal Stricture as Side Effect of Long Term Use Biphosphonate
Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease that affect almost any organ system. Patient with SLE is at risk of osteoporosis. Biphosphonate is one of osteoporosis treatments. However, esophageal stricture (ES) caused by continuous esophageal inflammation as a result of long-term use Biphosphonate can occur. Intralesion Triamcinolone Injection (ITI) becomes one of ES therapy by inhibiting inflammatory response to injury and decrease subsequent collagen formation. ITI inhibits transcription of matrix protein genes, including fibronectin and procollagen. It also reduces the synthesis of α2-macroglobulin, an inhibitor of collagenase activity. A 43 year old woman was diagnosed with SLE. She was treated with Risedronic Acid (bisphosphonate class) 35 mg once a week. After 8 months, she started complaining difficulty to swallow. Symptom was getting worse 6 months later. One-third distal ES with inflammation process was found with endoscopy. ITI 150 mg was given in inflammation area. She was scheduled to follow up after 7 days for re-endoscopy. Endoscopy showed that inflammation process had been improved. Six months later, she had again complained difficulty to swallow and we found that she still consumed Risedonic Acid. ITI 150 mg was given because inflammation and ES was found with endoscopy. After 7 days, endoscopy showed that there was no ES and inflammation process had been improved. She was advised to stop Risedronic Acid consumption
Electronic structure of the double perovskite Ba2Er(Nb,Sb)O 6
In this work, we present a detailed study of the structural and the electronic structure of the double perovskite Ba2Er(Nb,Sb)O 6. All calculations were performed with the Full-Potential Linear Augmented Plane Wave method (FP-LAPW) based on the Density Functional Theory (DFT). From the minimization of energy as a function of volume using the Murnaghan's state equation has been obtained the equilibrium lattice parameter and the bulk modulus of these compounds. The study of the electronic structure was based in the analysis of the electronic density of states (DOS), and the density of charge, showing that these compounds have a total magnetic moment of 3.0 μB per formula unit due to Er atoms.
Relationship Between Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor and Severity of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Background: Severity of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that is assessed using Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) classification is a main prognostic factor of hepatocellular carcinoma. Assessment of the serum level of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is considered to reflect the severity of HCC. However, there is still no fundamental basis of the association of severity of HCC with the serum VEGF level. The objective of this study is to know the relationship between serum VEGF levels with the severity of HCC by assessing the average difference of serum VEGF level in various severity of HCC.Method: This study was a cross sectional study to identify the association between serum VEGF levels with the severity of HCC based on BCLC classification. This study was performed in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital between January and May 2015. Statistical tests used to evaluate the association between serum VEGF level with BCLC classification was one-way ANOVA analysis, and continued with post hoc Tukey Schaffe analysis. Results: A total of 61 subjects with HCC were included into this study. In this study, we did not find subjects with stage 0 BCLC. The average of serum VEGF level in stage A BCLC was 288.26 ± 156.6 pg/mL; stage B BCLC: 434 ± 164.8 pg/mL; stage C BCLC: 785.57 ± 194.25 pg/mL; stage D BCLC: 1537.97 ± 660.62 pg/mL. One-way ANOVA analysis showed significant difference (P < 0.001) between serum VEGF level and HCC severity based on BCLC classification. Post hoc Tukey Schaffe analysis showed the presence of significant difference between stage A and C BCLC (p < 0.05) and stage A and D BCLC (p < 0.001), stage B and D BCLC (p < 0.001), and stage C and D BCLC (p < 0.001). There was no significant difference between stage A and B BCLC, and between stage B and C BCLC.Conclusion: It was found that serum VEGF level increased in accordance to the HCC severity based on BCLC classification, particularly for stage B BCLC and above

Mission and Conversion in the Changing Context of India with the Growth of Hindutva Movement – the Christian Response
The Church’s Response to the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in India
I gratefully remember working with Reverend Charles in a rehabilitation centre in the US and later with my HIV-positive friends in India. Their laughter, courage and resilience reminded me that it is not they who are HIV-positive but it is we who are all HIV-positive. In this article I would like to reflect on the cultural context of HIV/AIDS in India, its prevalence and the Church’s response to this epidemic
Understanding of pastoral care and counselling in the church of South India, with special reference to the work of the Christian Counselling Centre, Vellore
Towards a Distributed Systems Model based on Multi-Agent Systems for Reproducing Self-properties
Capítulo 11In this chapter, we introduce a preliminary model of a distributed system (some algorithms and principles are modelled) which has been inspired by multi-agent systems. Agents can communicate in a local fashion and establish a cooperation process in order to compute some desired functions as a traditional distributed system,
producing an output that is transparent to an end user. Each agent can sense new information, and acts following certain information in a decentralized way. As a result, the output of the implemented functions achieves the same result as a traditional distributed system by using local behaviours. Finally, we show that it is
possible to define crashes in the proposed model in a local, natural and easy way. The purpose of doing this is to use this simulated model to introduce behaviours to agents that allow the system to recover from failures by itself, in turn, achieving self-* properties.ISBN: 978958580477
