Studi Pengaruh Gerak Semi-submersible Drilling Rig Dengan Variasi Pre-tension Mooring Line Terhadap Keamanan Drilling Riser

Quantum Mechanical Treatment of the Problem of Constraints in Nonextensive Formalism Revisited

The purity of Werner state in nonextensive formalism associated with two different constraints has been calculated in a previous paper by G. B. Bagci et al. [G. B. Bagci et al., Int. J. Mod. Phys. 20, 2085 (2006)]. Two different results have been obtained corresponding to ordinary probability and escort probability whereas the former has been shown to result in negative values thereby leading authors to deduce the advantage of escort probabilities over ordinary probabilities. However, this results have been only for a limited interval of q values which lie between 0 and 1. In this paper, we solve the same problem for all values of nonextensive index q by using a perturbative approach and show that the simultaneous use of both types of constraint is necessary in order to obtain the solution for whole spectrum of nonextensive index. In this sense, the existence of these different constraints in nonextensive formalism must not be seen as a deficiency in the formalism but rather must be welcomed as a means of providing solution for all values of parameter q.Comment: 7 page

Scattering states of a particle, with position-dependent mass, in a double heterojunction

In this work we obtain the exact analytical scattering solutions of a particle (electron or hole) in a semiconductor double heterojunction - potential well / barrier - where the effective mass of the particle varies with position inside the heterojunctions. It is observed that the spatial dependence of mass within the well / barrier introduces a nonlinear component in the plane wave solutions of the continuum states. Additionally, the transmission coefficient is found to increase with increasing energy, finally approaching unity, whereas the reflection coefficient follows the reverse trend and goes to zero.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figure

Scattering of Woods-Saxon Potential in Schrodinger Equation

The scattering solutions of the one-dimensional Schrodinger equation for the Woods-Saxon potential are obtained within the position-dependent mass formalism. The wave functions, transmission and reflection coefficients are calculated in terms of Heun's function. These results are also studied for the constant mass case in detail.Comment: 14 page

Challenges in using allylthiourea and chlorate as specific nitrification inhibitors

Allylthiourea (ATU) and chlorate (ClO 3 −) are often used to selectively inhibit nitritation and nitratation. In this work we identified challenges with use of these compounds in inhibitory assays with filter material from a biological rapid sand filter for groundwater treatment. Inhibition was investigated in continuous-flow lab-scale columns, packed with filter material from a full-scale filter and supplied with NH 4 + or NO 2 −. ATU concentrations of 0.1–0.5 mM interfered with the indophenol blue method for NH 4 + quantification leading to underestimation of the measured NH 4 + concentration. Interference was stronger at higher ATU levels and resulted in no NH 4 + detection at 0.5 mM ATU. ClO 3 − at typical concentrations for inhibition assays (1–10 mM) inhibited nitratation by less than 6%, while nitritation was instead inhibited by 91% when NH 4 + was supplied. On the other hand, nitratation was inhibited by 67–71% at 10–20 mM ClO 3 − when NO 2 − was supplied, suggesting significant nitratation inhibition at higher NO 2 − concentrations. No chlorite (ClO 2 −) was detected in the effluent, and thus we could not confirm that nitritation inhibition was caused by ClO 3 − reduction to ClO 2 −. In conclusion, ATU and ClO 3 − should be used with caution in inhibition assays, because analytical interference and poor selectivity for the targeted process may affect the experimental outcome and compromise result interpretation. </p

The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation with q-parameter Poschl-Teller potential are analytically obtained within the position-dependent mass formalism. The parametric generalization of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the calculations by choosing a mass distribution.Comment: 10 page

Generalized Uncertainty Principle and the Ramsauer-Townsend Effect

The scattering cross section of electrons in noble gas atoms exhibits a minimum value at electron energies of approximately 1eV. This is the Ramsauer-Townsend effect. In this letter, we study the Ramsauer-Townsend effect in the framework of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure

Approximate Solution of the effective mass Klein-Gordon Equation for the Hulthen Potential with any Angular Momentum

The radial part of the effective mass Klein-Gordon equation for the Hulthen potential is solved by making an approximation to the centrifugal potential. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the calculations. Energy spectra and the corresponding eigenfunctions are computed. Results are also given for the case of constant mass.Comment: 12 page
