Spin waves in quasi-equilibrium spin systems
Using the Landau Fermi liquid theory we have discovered a new regime for the
propagation of spin waves in a quasi-equilibrium spin systems. We have
determined the dispersion relation for the transverse spin waves and found that
one of the modes is gapless. The gapless mode corresponds to the precessional
mode of the magnetization in a paramagnetic system in the absence of an
external magnetic field. One of the other modes is gapped which is associated
with the precession of the spin current around the internal field. The gapless
mode has a quadratic dispersion leading to some interesting thermodynamic
properties including a contribution to the specific heat. We also
show that these modes make significant contributions to the dynamic structure

Pairing symmetry signatures of T1 in superconducting ferromagnets
We study the nuclear relaxation rate 1/T1 as a function of temperature for a
superconducting-ferromagnetic coexistent system using a p-wave triplet model
for the superconducting pairing symmetry. This calculation is contrasted with a
singlet s-wave one done previously, and we see for the s-wave case that there
is a Hebel-Slichter peak, albeit reduced due to the magnetization, and no peak
for the p-wave case. We then compare these results to a nuclear relaxation rate
experiment on UGe2 to determine the possible pairing symmetry signatures in
that material. It is seen that the experimental data is inconclusive to rule
out the possibility of s-wave pairing in .Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Physical properties of ferromagnetic-superconducting coexistent system
We studied the nuclear relaxation rate 1/T1 of a
ferromagnetic-superconducting system from the mean field model proposed in
Ref.14. This model predicts the existence of a set of gapless excitations in
the energy spectrum which will affect the properties studied here, such as the
density of states and, hence, 1/T1. The study of the temperature variation of
1/T1(for T<Tc) shows that the usual Hebel-Slichter peak exists, but will be
reduced because of the dominant role of the gapless fermions and the background
magnetic behavior. We have also presented the temperature dependence of
ultrasonic attenuation and the frequency dependence of electromagnetic
absorption within this model. We are successful in explaining certain

Diversity Analysis and Physico-Morphlogical Characteritics of Indigenous Germplasm of Lablab Bean
Germplasm characterization is an important component of crop breeding program. In characterizing indigenous beans lablab which is used for vegetables as well pulses in Nepal. Twenty three lablab beans germplasm were evaluated for different qualitative and quantitive physico-morphological charecteristics for two years during 2011 and 2012 at Horticulture Research Station, Malepatan, Pokhara. The germplasm showed considerable variations in most of the qualitative and quantitative traits. Leaf size, vine color, flower color, pod color, pod shape, pod type and seed color varied among the genotypes. Variation was also observed in yield attributing characters eg, pod length and width, 10 fresh pod weight, seeds per pod and 100-seed weight. Days to 50% flowering ranged from 81 to 130 days indicating the presence of early varieties. Fresh pod weight of 10 pods was ranged from 45.0 g to 162.5 g. Multivariate analysis indicated four groups in these genotypes, among with ML-02 and ML-10 were distinct in comparioson with other genotypes. Simple selection may be considered to develop high yielding, early type varieties from these gentopypes
FPGA based Security Login System using GSM with OTP Generation
Security of system is major concern in this age of high-tech infrastructure. In today\u27s materialistic world, security holds an in dispensable place. Security in every aspect is highly desirable may be at home or at office etc. as thefts and robberies are increasing day by day. To overcome this security threat, a security system has been proposed using GSM technology, by generating One Time Password and implementing in FPGA. As FPGAs offer all of the features needed to implement most complex designs. This security system activates, authenticates and validates the user and then unlocks the system. This project attempts to create security login systemwhere the user is granted access if he enters the correct predefined password and is denied access if he enter the wrong password. When password is entered GSM gets activated and send SMS to user\u27s mobile phone, after authentication random OTP is generated and should be verified such that the system gets accessed. In every 3 minutes this OTP verification code will change and is valid for 3 minutes. The outcome of each and all would be available in the LCD of the Spartan 3E board. VHDL codes are used to design this system using Xilinx ISE 9.2i
Simulation of Growth and Yield of Rainfed Maize Under Varied Agronomic Management and Changing Climatic Scenario in Nawalparasi, Nepal
Correction: Figure 3 was corrupted and so the PDF was replaced on 29th December 2016 with the corrected Figure 3.A field experiment and simulation modeling study in combination for different maize cultivars planted at different sowing dates were accomplished at Kawasoti-5, Nawalparasi during spring season of 2013 to assess the impact of climate change scenario as predicted by IPCC in rainfed spring maize by using CSM-CERES-Maize model. Result showed that RML-4/RML-17 produced higher kernel rows/ ear (13.77), kernel per row (30.42) and test weight (244.9 g). Significantly higher grain yield was also found for RML-4/RML-17 (6.03 t/ha) compared to Poshilo makai-1 (4.73 t/ha), Arun-2 (3.55 t/ha) and Local (2.92 t/ha). Earlier sowing date (7th April) actually produced higher kernel/row (27.97), kernel rows/ear (12.89) and 1000 grain weight (230 g). Significantly higher grain yield (5.13t/ha) was obtained in earlier sowing date (7th April). The CSM-CERES-Maize model was calibrated and found well validated with days to anthesis (RMSE= 0.426 day and D-index= 0.998), days to physiological maturity (RMSE=0.674 day and D-index= 0.999), number of grain/m2 at maturity (RMSE= 85.287 grain /m2 and D-index= 0.993), unit weight at maturity (RMSE=0.012 g/kernel and D-index= 0.854) and grain yield (RMSE=54.94 kg/ha and D-index= 1.00). The model was found sensitive to climate change parameters. The sensitivity for various climate change parameter indicated that there was severely decreased trend in simulated rainfed spring maize yield with the increment of maximum and minimum temperature, decrease in solar radiation and decrease carbondioxide concentration. Even 2°C rise in temperature can decrease around 15-20% yield of spring maize and this negative effect was even more pronounced in hybrid than other cultivars.Journal of Maize Research and Development (2015) 1(1):123-133DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3428
Experience of Teaching Anthropology: Interrogating the Semester System at Tribhuvan University, Nepal
This article deals with the teaching of medical anthropology and research methodology under the newly reintroduced semester system at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. It mainly consists of my experience of teaching anthropology under the semester-based education system in its Central Department of Anthropology for postgraduate anthropology students. In addition, it comprises of information acquired from students and colleagues from the Department and other colleges about the very subject. This paper does not provide any guideline for a better course of action for teaching anthropology. Instead, this paper emphasizes the imperativeness of the semester system that facilitates employing student-centred and interactive teaching and encourages elevating their potential through the effective teaching-learning mechanism. It portrays how the typical pedagogical approaches adopted under the semester system can contribute crucially to facilitate students to enhance their skills in critical reading and creative writing.DOI: http://doi.org/10.31357/fhss/vjhss.v06i01.0
Polymorphisms in Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine resistance transporter and multidrug resistance 1 genes: parasite risk factors that affect treatment outcomes for P. falciparum malaria after artemether-lumefantrine and artesunate-amodiaquine.
Adequate clinical and parasitologic cure by artemisinin combination therapies relies on the artemisinin component and the partner drug. Polymorphisms in the Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine resistance transporter (pfcrt) and P. falciparum multidrug resistance 1 (pfmdr1) genes are associated with decreased sensitivity to amodiaquine and lumefantrine, but effects of these polymorphisms on therapeutic responses to artesunate-amodiaquine (ASAQ) and artemether-lumefantrine (AL) have not been clearly defined. Individual patient data from 31 clinical trials were harmonized and pooled by using standardized methods from the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network. Data for more than 7,000 patients were analyzed to assess relationships between parasite polymorphisms in pfcrt and pfmdr1 and clinically relevant outcomes after treatment with AL or ASAQ. Presence of the pfmdr1 gene N86 (adjusted hazards ratio = 4.74, 95% confidence interval = 2.29 - 9.78, P < 0.001) and increased pfmdr1 copy number (adjusted hazards ratio = 6.52, 95% confidence interval = 2.36-17.97, P < 0.001 : were significant independent risk factors for recrudescence in patients treated with AL. AL and ASAQ exerted opposing selective effects on single-nucleotide polymorphisms in pfcrt and pfmdr1. Monitoring selection and responding to emerging signs of drug resistance are critical tools for preserving efficacy of artemisinin combination therapies; determination of the prevalence of at least pfcrt K76T and pfmdr1 N86Y should now be routine
