An experiment was conducted to study the influence of modified atmospheric storage conditions on biochemical parameters of pigeonpea seeds. The experiment was conducted at the Department of Seed Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, Raichur, Karnataka. The seeds are exposed to various gaseous combinationsand stored in 700 gauge polyethylene bag for ten months during July-2012 to April- 2013. The results revealed that, the seeds exposed to gaseous combination of 40% N2+00% O2+ 60% CO2 showed less reduction in dehydrogenase enzyme activity and protein content (0.276 OD (optical density) value, 19.33 % respectively) as compared to the control (0.211 OD value and 18.13 % respectively) after ten months of storage. In addition less seed leachate (2.029 dSm-1) was recorded in gaseous combination of 40% N2+00% O2+ 60% CO2 as compared to control (2.207dSm-1). It indicates the potential use of modified atmospheric storage technology for maintenance of seed viability and vigour during storage in pulses

Pandu Roga is one of the diseases mentioned in Ayurveda characterised by pallor which is associated with different colours according to Doshas (Body humours) involved. This can be clinically corelated to Anaemia in modern science due to resemblance of signs and symptoms. Bhavaprakasha Nighantu is one of the oldest Lexicon that provides information about the Ayurvedic drugs and their properties in details. This is a literary survey based on Bhavaprakasha Nighantu and Bhavaprakasha Samhitha was aimed to find out single drugs and their properties which are used in the treatment of the disease Pandu. In Bhavaprakasha Nighantu Pandu Hara drugs are six in Haritaki Varga, nine in Guducyadi Varga, five in Vatadi Varga, eight in Dhatu Varga, three in Sakha Varga were found. The author also mentioned Dugda (milk) in Dugda Varga, Takra (buttermilk) in Takra Varga, Naveena Ghrita (freshly made ghee) in Ghrita Varga, Tushodaka (sour barley gruel) and Sukta (fermented gruel) in Sandhaniya Varga, Go-mutra (cow’s urine) in Mutra Varga as Pandu Hara. Total 38 single drugs have mentioned in Bhavaprakasha Nighantu. In Bhavaprakasha Samhita there are two main classical formulations which are useful in Pandu Roga and most of the ingredients of these formulations are similar with single drugs mentioned in Bhavapraksha Nighantu and 19 drugs are additionally found in Bhavaprakasha Samhitha

Diabetes will be of two type’s diabetes-1 and diabetes-2. Diabetes-2 require hospitalization and in diabetes-1 condition we can monitor patient and alert him or doctors about his current conditio

RECENT PROGRESS OF DENDRIMERS IN DRUG DELIVERY FOR CANCER THERAPY

    Get PDF
With the recent advances of nanotechnology, dendrimers are emerging as a highly attractive class of drug delivery vectors for cancer therapy. Dendrimers are multifunctional smart Nanocarriers to deliver one or more therapeutic agent safely and selectively to cancer cells. The high level of control over the synthesis of dendritic architecture makes dendrimers a nearly perfect (spherical) nanocarrier for site-specific drug delivery. The presence of functional groups in the dendrimers exterior also permits the addition of other moieties that can actively target certain diseases which are now widely used as tumor targeting strategies. Drug encapsulation, solubilization and passive targeting also equally contribute to the therapeutic use of dendrimers. Dendrimers are ideal carrier vehicles on cytotoxicity, blood plasma retention time, biodistribution and tumor uptake. In this review we highlight the advantages of dendrimers over conventional chemotherapy, toxicity and its management, following anti-cancer drugs delivered by using dendrimers and recent advances in drug delivery by various types of dendrimers as well as its diagnostic applications

Enhancement of solubility and oral bioavailability of poorly soluble drug Valsartan by novel solid self emulsifying drug delivery system

    Get PDF
The main objective of present work was to prepare a solid SEDDS for enhancement of oral bioavailability of Valsartan, poorly water soluble drug. The solubility of the drug was determined in various vehicles. A pseudo ternary phase diagram was constructed to identify the self-micro emulsification region. Further, the resultant formulations were investigated for clarity, phase separation, globule size, effect of pH and dilutions and freeze-thaw stability. The optimized SMEDDS (F4) formulation of Valsartan contained Capmul MCM (Oil), Kolliphor HS 15 (Surfactant) and PEG 400 (Co-surfactant). This optimized formulation was converted in to solid SEDDS by adding required quantity of Neusilin US2 as adsorbing agent used for in vitro dissolution and bioavailability assessment. The oral bioavailability of Valsartan from solid SEDDS was 1.6-fold higher compared to that of Valsartan suspension in rats, suggesting a significant increase (p < 0.05) in oral bioavailability of Valsartan from solid SEDDS

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic had a tremendous effect on surgical practice and surgical outcomes, especially in Gynaecology which had led to an increase in operative interferences like hysterectomies, which is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures for uterine leiomyomas. Aim of this study was to determine the impact of covid lockdown on hysterectomies performed on AUB–L in perimenopausal and post-menopausal women based on clinical, radiological, and operative aspects. Methods: A retrospective study on perimenopausal and post-menopausal women who underwent hysterectomy for AUB-L was compared based on their clinical, radiological, and operative findings in the pre COVID period (April 2019-March 2020) and post COVID lockdown period of one year (July 2021-June 2022), at Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, SVS Hospital, Telangana. Results: The post-covid group has a significant increase in the severity of clinical symptoms such as menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea (VMSS-GRADE 2). Radiological findings (US AND MRI)-The size (>5cms) and number (>2) of fibroids increased significantly in post COVID group. The operative duration (1-3hrs), intraoperative blood loss (150-300ml), need for blood transfusion (>24%), postoperative pain (VAS pain score 5), and mean hospital stay (72-120hrs) were significantly increased in the post-COVID group as compared to pre COVID group attributable to delay in seeking medical advice due to COVID-19 lockdown. Conclusions: This study clearly states that the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown was significant in worsening clinical features, increasing the size and number of fibroids which in turn increased the number of hysterectomies, operative time and complications

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION AND REGULATORY SYSTEM FOR CELL ENERGY

    Get PDF
Within this paper, a coordinated and multivariable energy management technique is suggested which uses a wind generator along with a photovoltaic variety of a standalone Electricity microgrid as controllable generators by modifying the pitch position and also the switching duty cycles. Because of substantial generation and demand fluctuations in standalone eco-friendly micro grids, energy management strategies have become required for the ability discussing and current regulation purposes. The classical energy management strategies employ the utmost power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms and depend on batteries in situation of possible excess or deficit of one's. However, to be able to realize constant current-constant current (IU) charging regime while increasing the life time of batteries, energy management strategies require being more flexible using the power curtailment feature. The variable load demands will also be shared precisely between generators compared for their ratings. Furthermore, the Electricity bus current is controlled inside a predefined range, like a design parameter. The suggested technique is developed being an online nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) formula. Signing up to an example standalone electricity microgrid, the developed controller realizes the IU regime for charging battery bank

    Get PDF
In the modern world, health monitoring systems are crucial. This system's purpose is to use sensors to measure the patient's body's biological parameters, such as temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. The LM-35 temperature sensor is used to measure temperature. A pulse sensor is used to calculate heart rate. The associated registered number will automatically get an SMS using GSM when the oxygen level thresholds change. Arduino compares the patient's parameters to the values inside the usual range, and if the parameters are out of range, an SMS is automatically sent over GSM to the relevant registered number. The parameters are shown on an LCD screen
