Introduction à Kopernikus : Pistes de réflexion autour du sacré

L’auteure se propose d’examiner l’un des aspects les plus significatifs de l’univers de Claude Vivier, le sacré, en s’appuyant sur des éléments biographiques, ses écrits, son oeuvre en général, et plus spécifiquement l’opéra « rituel de mort » Kopernikus. Sont envisagés dans cet article deux aspects du sacré : le numineux et le merveilleux. Vie et oeuvre de Vivier, directement conditionnées l’une par l’autre dans l’imaginaire du compositeur, oscillent entre le numineux (moteur de la vie) et le merveilleux (moteur de l’oeuvre), entre deux représentations mentales, le sacrifice (du latin sacrare, « consacrer à une divinité ») et l’extase (du latin extasis, « être hors de soi ; égarement de l’esprit » : « ravissement »). Agni, le double du compositeur, personnage central et le seul nommément désigné dans l’opéra, évoque le numineux associé au concept de sacrifice. Alice, l’ombre d’Agni, symbole de l’imagination constamment sollicitée, représente le merveilleux associé au concept d’extase. Entre le numineux et le merveilleux, le sacrifice et l’extase, l’existence et l’oeuvre, s’installe un vide qu’il reviendra à la musique de combler.The author examines the sacred dimension in Claude Vivier’s universe by appealing to the life, the writings and the works in general, and in particular to his “ritual of death,” the opera Kopernikus. Two aspects of the sacred are envisaged in this article, that of the ‘numinous’ and the ‘marvellous.’ In Vivier, the life and the works influence eachother reciprocally, oscillating between the numinous (the impetus for life) and the marvellous (impetus for works), between two mental representations, that of sacrifice (from the Latin sacrare, ‘to devote to a divinity’) and ecstasy (from the Latin extasis, ‘to be outside of oneself’; ‘to lose one’s mind’; ‘rapture’). Agni, the composer’s double, the central figure of the opera (and the only named character), evokes the numinous associated with the concept of sacrifice. Alice, the shadow of Agni, symbol of the constantly sollicited imagination, represents the marvellous associated with the concept of extasy. Between the numinous and the marvellous, sacrifice and ecstacy, existence and art, a void takes shape which music is called upon to fill

Les relations halieutiques internationales du Mexique

With the extension of the Exclusive Economic Zone, Mexico has been endowed with a tremendous oceanic potential. Although without any maritime history, the country embarked on the development of its marine biological resources ; an ailing ' 'agricultural revolution" was replaced by the , "blue revolution". An ambitious national plan for the development of its fisheries was set up; its implementation would improve the food supply situation, create thousands of jobs, increase exportations and, by turning out foreign fleets from its territorial waters, would also flatter Mexican nationalism. However, only part of these ambitions came to be. Lack of maritime know-how and a weak internal market have prevented Mexico from becoming free from external constraints. Évolution postglaciaire du régime hydrosédimentaire et vitesse de l’ablation dans un petit bassin-versant des Appalaches près de Rimouski (Bas-Saint-Laurent, Québec)

L'étude stratigraphique d'un petit cône de déjection (rayon : 60 m) situé près de Rimouski, en milieu forestier, a permis de reconstituer l'évolution postglaciaire du régime hydrosédimentaire de son bassin-versant (0,145 km2) en relation avec les changements environnementaux (climat, végétation) enregistrés dans la région depuis ~11 000 ans. Le régime hydrosédimentaire de ce petit cône a changé radicalement peu avant 7200 ans BP, passant d'une sédimentation gravelo-sableuse grossièrement stratifiée à une sédimentation silto-sableuse riche en matière organique qui s'est poursuivie jusqu'à nos jours. Cette transition s'accompagne d'une diminution marquée de la vitesse de l'ablation à l'échelle du bassin-versant qui est passée de 0,0063 mm/an (= 6,3 B) entre 11 000 et 7200 ans BP à 0,0023 mm/an (= 2,3 B) après 7200 ans BP. Cette transition correspond dans le temps à la fermeture définitive du couvert forestier à l'échelle régionale, telle que révélée par les données de l'analyse pollinique. L'évolution postglaciaire du régime hydrosédimentaire de ce petit bassin-versant serait directement reliée à l'évolution du contexte écologique régional, c'est-à-dire essentiellement à l'histoire de la forêt.Stratigraphical analysis of a small alluvial fan (radius: 60 m) located near Rimouski in a forest environnement allows to reconstruct paleohydrological change since 11 000 yr BP in relation with coeval environmental changes. The fan materials are well exposed in a long trench across the distal part of the fan. The basal unit (mean thickness: 93 cm) is mainly composed of locally derived angular and subangular chips (shale, siltstone) of gravel-size with only crude stratification locally. This coarse unit is overlain by an unstratified silty sand (mean thickness: 66 cm) containing few scattered lenses of well-rounded gravel, pieces of wood, charcoal, buried organic soil and one layer of pure organic debris. The transition from basal gravel to superficial organic-rich silty sand by 7200 yr BP is synchronous with the definitive closure of the regional forest cover as established by pollen analysis. This suggests that hydrological changes were closely related to the postglacial vegetation history. Fan volume estimates allows to calculate the postglacial evolution of the rate of surface lowering in the related feeding basin (0.145 km2). The rate of lowering changed radically from 0.0063 mm/y (or 6.3 B) between 11 000 and 7200 yr BP to 0.0023 mm/y (or 2.3 B) since 7200 yr BP.Die stratigraphische Studie eines kleinen Dejektions-kegels (Radius: 60 m) in waldiger Umgebung in der Nâhe von Rimouski ermôglichte es, die postglaziale hydro-sedimentare Entwicklung seines Nàhrbeckens (0,145 km2) in Zusammenhang mit den in der Region seit ~11 000 Jahren festgestellten Umweltveranderungen (Klimax, Vegetation) zu rekonstruieren. Das hydro-sedimentâre System dieses kleinen Kegels hat sich kurz vor 7200 Jahren v.u.Z. radikal veràndert, indem es von einer grobgeschichteten Kies-Sand-Sedimentierung zu einer an organischer Materie reichen Schlick-Sand-Sedimentierung uberging, die bis heute fortdauert. Dieser Ubergang geht mit einer deutlichen Abnahme der Ablationsgeschwindigkeit in der GrôBenordnung des Nàhrbeckens einher, und zwar von 0,0063 mm/Jahr (=6.3 B) zwischen 11 000 und 7200 Jahren v.u.Z. auf 0,0023 mm/Jahr (=2,3 B) nach 7200 Jahren v.u.Z. Dieser Ubergang entspricht zeitlich der definitiven SchlieBung der Walddecke in der ganzen Region, wie sie aus den Daten der Pollen-Analyse erkennbar ist. Die postglaziale Entwicklung des hydro-sedimentâren Systems dieses kleinen Nàhrbeckens soil direkt mit der Entwicklung des regionalen ôkolo-gischen Kontextes verbunden sein, d.h. vor allem mit der Geschichte des Waldes

FishMark: A Linked Data Application Benchmark

Abstract. FishBase is an important species data collection produced by the FishBase Information and Research Group Inc (FIN), a not-forprofit NGO with the aim of collecting comprehensive information (from the taxonomic to the ecological) about all the world’s finned fish species. FishBase is exposed as a MySQL backed website (supporting a range of canned, although complex queries) and serves over 33 million hits per month. FishDelish is a transformation of FishBase into LinkedData weighing in at 1.38 billion triples. We have ported a substantial number of FishBase SQL queries to FishDelish SPARQL query which form the basis of a new linked data application benchmark (using our derivative of the Berlin SPARQL Benchmark harness). We use this benchmarking framework to compare the performance of the native MySQL application, the Virtuoso RDF triple store, and the Quest OBDA system on a fishbase.org like application.

Directional bias of illusory stream caused by relative motion adaptation

AbstractEnigma is an op-art painting that elicits an illusion of rotational streaming motion. In the present study, we tested whether adaptation to various motion configurations that included relative motion components could be reflected in the directional bias of the illusory stream. First, participants viewed the center of a rotating Enigma stimulus for adaptation. There was no physical motion on the ring area. During the adaptation period, the illusory stream on the ring was mainly seen in the direction opposite to that of the physical rotation. After the physical rotation stopped, the illusory stream on the ring was mainly seen in the same direction as that of the preceding physical rotation. Moreover, adapting to strong relative motion induced a strong bias in the illusory motion direction in the subsequently presented static Enigma stimulus. The results suggest that relative motion detectors corresponding to the ring area may produce the illusory stream of Enigma

Social support and self care in diabetes type 2

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal con el objetivo de identificar la relación entre el ámbito laboral y familiar con las prácticas de autoatención y autocuidado de pacientes con diagnóstico de diabetes tipo 2, que concurren a los consultorios externos de diabetología de hospitales públicos dependientes del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Se tomó una muestra probabilística al azar sistemático de 337 pacientes entre 40 y 79 años que fueron encuestados con los siguientes instrumentos: cuestionario de datos personales y laborales, escala de frecuencias sobre prácticas de autoatención y autocuidado, ambos construidos ad hoc y validados previamente. Los datos fueron analizados estadísticamente con análisis descriptivos y pruebas bivariadas, según el nivel de medición de las variables. Los hallazgos del presente estudio evidencian que el apoyo social favorece una mayor adherencia a los tratamientos a través del cumplimiento de pautas de autocuidado.A descriptive and transversal study was made with the aim of identifying the relationship between the working and the family environment with the self attention and self care of patients with diabetes type 2 who are treated in Public Hospitals of Buenos Aires. A systematic sample of 337 people was randomly chosen. These people, aged since 40 to79 years old, had to answer the following: a questionnaire about personal and working issues, a frequency scale about self care and self attentions' practices, all of them built ad hoc and previously val idated. Data was analyzed statistically with descriptive and bivariated tests.
