Character-level Transformer-based Neural Machine Translation

Neural machine translation (NMT) is nowadays commonly applied at the subword level, using byte-pair encoding. A promising alternative approach focuses on character-level translation, which simplifies processing pipelines in NMT considerably. This approach, however, must consider relatively longer sequences, rendering the training process prohibitively expensive. In this paper, we discuss a novel, Transformer-based approach, that we compare, both in speed and in quality to the Transformer at subword and character levels, as well as previously developed character-level models. We evaluate our models on 4 language pairs from WMT'15: DE-EN, CS-EN, FI-EN and RU-EN. The proposed novel architecture can be trained on a single GPU and is 34% percent faster than the character-level Transformer; still, the obtained results are at least on par with it. In addition, our proposed model outperforms the subword-level model in FI-EN and shows close results in CS-EN. To stimulate further research in this area and close the gap with subword-level NMT, we make all our code and models publicly available

KINETIKA PROSES BIODEGRADASI ANAEROB AIR SAMPAH MENGGUNAKAN ALAT BIOREAKTOR BERPENYEKAT ANAEROB

Organic waste treatment using Sanitary Landfill method always generate the leachate of BOD and COD with high concentration. If leachate was directly thrown to the territorial water, it can contaminate the water and soil environments. Water be stinky and can’t be used to drink or washing. Hence, it was needed treatment to reduce the organic compounds. The aims of this research were to reduce the organic compounds of the leachate, to know the optimum conditions in processing leachate using anaerobic bioreactor, and to get the kinetic constants of process the anaerobic biodegradation. It was used anaerobic bioreactor with anaerobic bacterium. This method was able to eliminate leachate with high organic substance burden and also able to reduce cost of process because the aeration equipments were not needed. It was used leachate from TPA Putri Cempo, Mojosongo. Leachate, as influent mixed with water in ratio 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3. This mixture were feed to anaerobic bioreactor with constant flow rate. The efluent then analyzed to obtain data of BOD 5 concentration. The optimum conditions in processing leachate using anaerobic bioreactor were residence time 2 days, influent at 1:3 ratio leachate to water, and the kinetic constants of process the anaerobic biodegradation were k = 3.5543/d ; ks = 68.3714 mg/L ; Y = 1.4753 ; kd = 0.49796/d and µm = 5.243/d. Konstanta Dielektrik Bahan Kertas Karton Pada Keping Sejajar

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besar nilai dari konstanta dielektrik kertas karton, penelitian dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak lima kali dengan variasi ketebalan kertas karton dan tegangan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dan menggunakan dua variabel yaitu variabel bebas dan variabel terikat, serta menggunakan desain alat bahan.Pada penelitian ini menggunakan dua analisis data yaitu analisis kesalahan relatif dan juga analisis regresi sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh hasil penelitian dengan variasi ketebalan dan tegangan diperoleh konstanta dielektrik rata-rata suatu kertas karton sebesar 3,60 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,09 sehingga diperoleh 3,60 ± 0,09. Pada kegiatan penelitian ini di dapat kesalahan relative sebesar 2,52%, dan ketelitiannya sebesar 97,48%. Berdasarkan grafik regresi diperoleh besar r = 0,9991, hal ini nilai r berada pada interval 0,80 ≤ r < 1, maka r dalam tingkat hubungan sangat kuat. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa besar konstanta dielektrik sebesar 3,60 dengan batas ketidakpastian ± 0,09

Rancang Bangun Aplikasi Pembelajaran Tertib Berlalu Lintas Berbasis Android

Berlalu lintas merupakan proses perjalanan atau perpindahan dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Dalam kehidupan nyata tertib berlalu lintas nampaknya belum tercermin di dalam pribadi masyarakat Indonesia. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari tingkat kecelakaan dan pelanggaran lalu lintas yang masih saja terjadi. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang ketentuan pidana dan arti rambu lalu lintas menjadi pemicu utama terjadinya kecelakaan dan pelanggaran lalu lintas. Hal itu membuat peneliti merancang dan membuat sebuah aplikasi pembelajaran sebagai sarana pengenalan dan pembelajaran pasal ketentuan pidana dan arti rambu lalu lintas berbasis Android. Peneliti menggunakan metode research & development dalam melakukan penelitian. Perancangan & pembangunan sistem dilakukan dengan proses pembuatan DFD, flowchart dan diimplementasikan menggunakan aplikasi Android Developer Tools Bundle v21.0.1- 543035. Aplikasi yang dibuat menampilkan beberapa pasal pidana, gambar rambu lalu lintas disertai artinya, dan tips dalam berkendara yang baik dan benar. Hasil yang didapat dalam penilaian melalui kuisioner yang diujikan di POLRES Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah didapat kesimpulan lebih dari 80% pihak Kepolisian dan masyarakat menjawab sangat setuju bahwa aplikasi ini dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran tertib berlalu lintas yang menarik, dan dapat membantu masyarakat dalam mempelajari pasal ketentuan pidan

FAKTOR - FAKTOR YANG MENYEBABKAN FLUKTUASI TINGGI PERMUKAAN AIR TANAH BEBAS STUDI KASUS PADA SUB-DAS KEYANG DI KABUPATEN PONOROGO

Air merupakan salah satu sumber kehidupan mutlak bagi kehidupan. berlangsungnya prosespembangunan yang berlokasi pada Sub-DAS Keyang di Kabupaten Ponorogo dalam 10 tahun terakhir,telah menunjukan adanya perubahan penggunaan lahan pada Sub-DAS Keyang di Kabupaten Ponorogoterutama pada berkurangnya luas area penggunaan lahan terbuka hijau dan penggunaan lahanterbangun, seperti: kawasan permukiman dan kawasan industri. Sehingga dapat dipastikan bahwa setiapcurah hujan yang terjadi lebih banyak dialirkan ke saluran-saluran drainase daripada terinfiltrasimenjadi cadangan air tanah bebas. Hal tersebut telah menyebabkan terjadinya fluktuasi ketinggianpermukaan air sumur warga, terutama pada Sub-DAS Keyang yang merupakan Sub-DAS terluas diKabupaten Ponorogo memiliki nilai rata-rata fluktuasi tinggi permukaan air sumur warga mencapai 2,8m pada tahun 2011. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perubahan koefisien Cdan curah hujan tahunan dengan fluktuasi permukaan air tanah bebas pada Sub-DAS Keyang diKabupaten Ponorogo. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian survei. Jumlah populasi dalampenelitian ini adalah fluktuasi tinggi permukaan air tanah bebas yang dilihat melalui sumur pantaudengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 17 sumur pantau pada Sub-DAS Keyang di Kabupaten ponorogo.Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi dengan analisis datayang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pada Sub-DAS Keyangdi Kabupaten Ponorogo, berdasarkan faktor curah hujan tahunan menunjukan pengaruh paling besarterhadap fluktuasi tinggi permukaan air bebas (sumur). This study aimed to determine the relationshipbetween changes in the coefficients C and annual rainfall with free groundwater level fluctuations on thesub-watershed Keyang in Ponorogo. This research uses survey research. Total population in this study isground water level fluctuations were seen freely through monitoring wells to sample as many as 17monitoring wells in the sub-watersheds in the District Keyang ponorogo. The data obtained in this studyusing observation and documentation of data analysis is descriptive quantitative analysis. The results ofthis study are in Sub-watershed Keyang in Ponorogo, based on annual rainfall factors showed the mosteffect on free water level fluctuations (wells). This research is a quantitative research with a correlational approach, namely research that aims to find out whether or not there is an influence or relationship between two or more variables, and if there is a relationship, how big the relationship is. To collect data the researcher distributes questionnaires to students. This study involved 15 students. The results of the data analysis show a strong relationship between teacher pedagogical competence and student learning behavior
