Consistency of the proposed additive measures of revealed comparative advantage
The recently proposed additive measures of revealed comparative advantage (RCA) have been argued as better alternatives to the Balassa Index. This note builds on those suggestions and provides a framework to assess their applicability by means of their consistency across the dimensions and inferences that the indices' informational content allow. A formal empirical investigation supports the presented arguments that the proposed additive constructs of RCA possess certain inconsistencies that may obscure comparative analyses based on them, whereas alternative additive measures proposed here are shown to be more consistent over space and time, and hence may serve as better instruments in related quantitative research.Revealed comparative advantage
Exclusive Baryonic B Decays Circa 2005
The status of exclusive two-body and three-body baryonic B decays is
reviewed. The threshold enhancement effect in the dibaryon invariant mass and
the angular distributions in the dibaryon rest frame are stressed and
explained. Weak radiative baryonic B decays mediated by the electromagnetic
penguin process are discussed. Puzzles with the correlation
observed in decay and the unexpectedly large rate observed
for are examined. The former may indicate that
the system is produced through some intermediate states, while the
latter implies the failure of naive factorization for
modes and may hint at the importance of final-state rescattering effects.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figures, talk presented at 3rd International Conference

Radiative and transition form factors in a light-front constituent quark model
The form factors of the and radiative transitions are
evaluated within a light-front constituent quark model, using for the first
time the eigenfunctions of a light-front mass operator reproducing the meson
mass spectrum and including phenomenological Dirac and Pauli quark form factors
in the one-body electromagnetic current operator. The sensitivity of the
transition form factors both to the meson wave functions and to the constituent
quark form factors is illustrated. It is shown that the measurement of the and radiative transitions could help in discriminating among
various models of the meson structure.Comment: 9 pages, latex, 4 figures available as separate .uu file, to appear

Vector Meson Dominance as the first order of a sequence of Pade Approximants
The use of Pade Approximants for the analysis of the pion vector form-factor
is discussed and justified in this talk. The method is tested first in a
theoretical model and applied then on real experimental data. It is shown how
the Pade Approximants provide a convenient and reliable framework to
incorporate both low and high energy information in the euclidean region,
leading to improved determinations of the low energy parameters such as, e.g.,
the quadratic radius ^pi_V.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, espcrc2 style. To appear in the proceedings of

Preliminary Results on gamma gamma -> Ks K pi from CLEO
We analyzed 13.8 fb^{-1} of the integrated e+e- luminosity collected at 10.6
GeV center-of-mass energy with the CLEO II and II.V detectors to study
exclusive two-photon production of single hadronic resonances. We searched for
hadrons decaying into Ks K pi when both leptons remain undetected. In this
analysis we studied the detection efficiency and evaluated systematic errors
using independent data samples. We estimated 90% CL upper limits on the
products of the two-photon partial widths of (pseudo)scalar hadrons with masses
below 1.7 GeV/c2 and their branching fractions into Ks K pi. Our preliminary
results are marginally consistent with the first observation of eta(1440) in
two-photon collisions by the L3 experiment.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, proceedings contribution for PANIC'0
Nucleon and pion electromagnetic form factors in a light-front constituent quark model
Nucleon and pion electromagnetic form factors are evaluated in the spacelike
region within a light-front constituent quark model, where eigenfunctions of a
mass operator, reproducing a large set of hadron energy levels, are adopted and
quark form factors are considered in the one-body current. The hadron form
factors are sharply affected by the high momentum tail generated in the wave
function by the one-gluon-exchange interaction. Useful information on the
electromagnetic structure of light constituent quarks can be obtained from the
comparison with nucleon and pion experimental data.Comment: 9 pages, latex, 4 figures available as separate .uu fil
The interplay of soft and hard contributions in the electromagnetic pion form factor
We consider various relativistic models for the valence Fock-state wave
function of the pion. These models are obtained from simple instant-form wave
functions by applying a Melosh rotation to the spin part and by imposing
physical constraints on the parameters. We discuss how the soft and the hard
(perturbative) parts of the electromagnetic form factor are affected by the
choice of the model and by the Melosh rotation.Comment: 3 pages, 2 eps-figures, uses espcrc2.st
Kreuze in den neuzeitlichen Gräbern der Pfarrkirche der hl. Maria Magdalena in Čazma
Stability, Specialisation and Divergence in Export Patterns for EU15
This paper examines the extent of stability, specialisation and divergence in manufacturing industries' export patterns for EU15 countries at both industry and country level, distinguishing between intra and extra EU15 exports as well as different technological categories. Both countrywide and industrywide analyses suggest that specialisation patterns, on average, are rather sticky. Furthermore, as proposed, intra-EU15 specialisation patterns are less persistent, particularly in higher technology industries. From an industry specific point, such non-persistence within intra-EU15 patterns is reflected as convergence of countries, whereas persistent extra-EU15 patterns are reflected as divergence of countries, which again are more common in higher technology industries
