Safety Management in an Oil Company through Failure Mode Effects and Critical Analysis
This study attempts to apply Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to improve the safety of a production system, specifically the production process of an oil company. Since food processing is a worldwide issue and self-management of a food company is more important than relying on government regulations, therefore this study focused on that matter. The initial step of this study is to identify and analyze the criticality of the potential failure modes of the production process. Furthermore, take corrective action to minimize the probability of repeating the same failure mode, followed by a re-analysis of its criticality. The results of corrective actions were compared with those before improvement conditions by testing the significance of the difference using two sample t-test. The final measured result is the Criticality Priority Number (CPN), which refers to the severity category of the failure mode and the probability of occurrence of the same failure mode. The recommended actions proposed by the
FMECA significantly reduce the CPN compared with the value before improvement, with increases of 38.46% for the palm olein case study
WP RR 17 - Industrial relations in the transport sector in the Netherlands
This research report constitutes the Dutch contribution to the international research project 'Industrial relations in the transportation industry: a European observatory', funded by the Italian employers' association Federetti. This research project was aimed at exploring current practices in industrial relations in the transport sector, with special emphasis on the aviation sector, air traffic management and the road transport sector. Federetti, an Italian employers' association active in the transport sector, commissioned this research project as it believed that benchmarking in industrial relations may represent an added value for its member firms. The project was co-ordinated by two Italian professors, Tiziano Treu and Marco Biagi. Cooperation of Aaron Johnston (student assistant) and Jelle Visser (scientific director of AIAS) is gratefully acknowledged. We express our gratitude to the persons in aviation and road haulage who have been so kind to share some of their scarce time allowing us to interview them by telephone or in direct conversations.
Data diambil dari situs Yahoo Finance, Economic Research Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, London Gold Fixing, US Energy Information Administration dan Pacific Exchange Rate Service.
An analysis for providing safety in the cooking oil production process through FMECA approach
This study attempts to apply Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to improve the safety of production system, espe-cially on the production process of an oil company in Indonesia. Since food processing is a worldwide issue and the self management of a food company is more important than relying on government regulations, so the purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the criticality of potential failure mode on the production process, then take corrective actions to minimize the probability of making the same failure mode and re-analyze its criticality. This corrective actions are compared with the before improvement condition by testing the significance of the difference between before and after improvement using two sample t-test. Final result that had been measured is Criticality Priority Number (CPN), which refers to severity category and probability of making the same failure mode. Recommended actions that proposed on the part of FMECA give less CPN significantly compare with before improvement, with increment by 48.33% on coconut cooking oil case study
