    Gingivitis en niños con malnutrición por exceso y diabetes mellitus, hospital El Pino, San Bernardo

    Tesis (Cirujano Dentista)Objetivo: El presente estudio tiene por finalidad determinar si existe una relación entre la gingivitis y la malnutrición por exceso asociada a alteraciones en el metabolismo de la glucosa en pacientes pediátricos atendidos en el policlínico de obesidad del Hospital y CRS El Pino en la comuna de San Bernardo, Chile. Metodología: Se obtuvieron los datos personales como la edad, género, índice de masa corporal (IMC) y comorbilidades desde las fichas clínicas del servicio de pediatría. Posteriormente se realizaron exámenes clínicos intraorales a 60 niños, dentro de los cuales 55 de ellos estaban diagnosticados como obesos y los restantes con condición de sobrepeso. En relación a la glicemia, 32 de ellos padecían de resistencia a la insulina o diabetes mellitus, el resto fueron pacientes del grupo control sin alteraciones en el metabolismo de la glucosa. Para evaluar la salud periodontal se utilizó una sonda periodontal OMS. Se midió el Índice gingival de Löe y Silness para determinar el grado de inflamación realizando una exploración con sonda en seis dientes por paciente. Se utilizaron pastillas reveladoras de placa bacteriana para determinar el Índice de higiene O’Leary lo que nos indicó la cantidad de biofilm dental de cada paciente. Resultados: Se observó una presencia de inflamación gingival similar entre los grupos al igual que el porcentaje de higiene oral. Conclusiones: No existe una diferencia significativa en relación a la presencia de gingivitis en pacientes obesos con alteración en el metabolismo de la glucosa versus el grupo control.Objective: This study aims to determine whether there is a link between gum disease and overweight was associated with alterations in glucose metabolism in pediatric patients treated at the polyclinic of obesity and CRS El Pino Hospital in the town of San Bernardo, Chile. Methodology: personal data such as age, gender, body mass index (BMI) and comorbidities were obtained from the medical records of pediatric service. Later intraoral clinical examinations of 60 children, among which 55 of them were diagnosed as obese and overweight condition remaining to be performed. Regarding glycemia, 32 of them suffering from insulin resistance or diabetes mellitus, the rest were control patients without alterations in glucose metabolism. WHO periodontal probe was used to assess periodontal health. Gingival Löe and Silness Index was measured to determine the degree of inflammation performing a scanning probe at six teeth per patient. Plaque disclosing tablets were used to determine the index of hygiene O'Leary told us what the amount of dental biofilm of each patient. Results: The presence of gingival inflammation similar between groups as well as the percentage of oral hygiene was observed. Conclusions: There is no significant difference in relation to the presence of gingivitis in obese patients with impaired glucose metabolism versus the control group

    Computer Aided Analysis of Periodically Switched Linear Networks

    Interest in analysing periodically switched linear networks has developed in response to the rapid development of sampled data communications systems. In particular, integrated circuit switched capacitor networks play an important part in modern analogue signal processing systems. This thesis addresses the problem of developing techniques for analysing periodically switched linear networks in the time and frequency domains that are suited to computer implementation and therefore facilitate the development of efficient computer aided analysis tools for these networks. Systems of large sparse complex linear equations arise in many network analysis problems and efficient techniques for solving these systems are crucial to the analysis methods developed in this thesis. By extending the concept of sparsity to include the type of the nonzero elements, very efficient solution and optimal ordering algorithms are developed. A new method for computing the time domain response of linear networks is presented. The method is based on numerical inversion of the Laplace transform and polynomial approximation of the excitations. This high accuracy method is well suited to solving large stiff systems and is extremely efficient. The method is extended to periodically switched linear networks and provides the basis for frequency domain analysis. A new frequency domain analysis method is presented that is orders of magnitude faster than existing techniques. This efficiency is achieved by developing a formulation such that AC analysis is not required, which allows the system to be solved as a discrete system. A special system compression reduces the solution of this discrete system to the solution of the network in one phase only. This solution step, which ordinarily requires O(N3) operations, is made more efficient by reducing the system to upper Hessenberg form in a preprocessing step, which then reduces the solution cost to O(N2) operations

    Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat telah dilakukan bersama mitra di lingkungan wisata pantai Ngurbloat Ohoi Ngilngof Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan pangan sehat dan pengolahannya, penyuluhan VCO, pembuatannya dan Pengamasan. Selain itu, dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan VCO sampai pengemasan, serta penyediaan sarana prasarana untuk keberlanjutan program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di lingkungn wisata Pantai Ngurbloat Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Hasil yang dicapai adalah adanya pengetahuan yang meningkat terkait pangan sehat, Pengolahan pangan sehata, pembuatan VCO dan pengemasannya.     Pengembangan pangan lokal bermutu berbasis Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) telah dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan mitra yakni Koperasi Wanita Vatanar Ohoi Ngilngof Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilakukan pada tanggal 22 November 2025 sampai 23 November 2025 dan dihadiri 12 orang mitra. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu penyuluhan, pelatihan pembuatan VCO, pengadaan sarana penunjang kegiatan dan evaluasi. Tahapan penyuluhan dilakukan dengan menyampaikan materi “Pengolahan pangan yang benar dan pembuatan VCO” dan diberikan buku pedoman pembuatan VCO. Tahapan pelatihan pembuatan VCO dilakukan sampai mendapatkan produk VCO dengan metode mixing. Tahapan pengadaan sarana dalam kegiatan ini adalah diberikan alat dan bahan pendukung pembuatan VCO seperti mixer, alat parut kelapa, botol kemasan, gelas ukur dan loyang. Tahapan akhir dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah Tahapan evaluasi dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan responden sebesar 100% tentang pangan sehat, pembuatan VCO dan manfaat VCO dan responden mengumakan bahwa pelatihan pembuatan VCO sebesar 100% mampu dilakukan secara individu maupun kelompok yakni mitra. Produk yang dihasilkan akan dipasarkan oleh mitra dalam pengawasan dengan tim pengabdian berdasarkan hasil evaluasi

    Generator set merupakan suatu alat yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan energi atau daya listrik. Daya listrik yang dihasilkan oleh generator set digunakan untuk menyuplai kebutuhan listrik beban yang dalam tugas akhir ini adalah lampu. Range daya yang mampu dihasilkan oleh generator set antara 100-1200 watt. Daya yang dihasilkan oleh generator set dipengaruhi oleh campuran antara udara dan bahan bakar. Generator set yang digunakan adalah generator set dual fuel. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan respon yang stabil dengan rata-rata nilai overshoot dibawah 20% dan error dibawah 2%. Selain itu, didapatkan juga nilai Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) dual fuel yaitu 15,06. Selain itu, kestabilan daya yang dihasilkan oleh generator set juga dipengaruhi oleh mass flowrate bahan bakar yang diinjeksikan kedalam ruang bakar. Dari hasil simulasi saat diberikan set point daya 1200 watt, didapatkan nilai flowrate udara sebesar 2,118 L/min, flowrate biogas sebesar 0,133 L/min, dan flowrate bensin 0,01 L/min. Sedangkan saat diberikan set point daya 100 watt, didapatkan nilai flowrate udara 0,560 L/min, flowrate biogas 0,029 L/min, dan flowrate bensin 0,01 L/min. Pengendalian daya output pada generator set dual fuel ini supaya generator set dapat menghasilkan daya ouput yang sesuai dengan beban yang diberikan. =============================================================================== Generator set is a tool that used to generate electric power. The electric power generated by the generator set is used to supply the electrical load requirement which in this final project is the lamp. Range of power capable generated by generator set between 100-1200 watts. The power generated by the generator set is influenced by a mixture of air and fuel. The generator set used is a dual fuel generator set. From the results of this study obtained a stable response with overshoot below 20% and error below 2%. In addition, also obtained the value of Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) dual fuel is the best that is 15.06. In addition, the stability of power generated by the generator set is also influenced by the stability of the fuel mass flowrate injected into the combustion chamber. From the simulation result when given 1200 watt power point set, air flowrate 2,118 L/min, flowrate of biogas 0,133 L/min, and with gasoline flowrate is constant 0.01 L/min. While given the 100 watt power point set, obtained the flowrate of air value 0,560 L/min, flowrate of biogas 0,029 L/min and gasoline flowrate is constant 0,01 L/min.     An assessment of the implication of involving local communities in biodiversity conservation : a case study of Blouberg Nature Reserve in Limpopo, South Africa

(Geography)) -- University of Limpopo, 2020This work aimed at assessing the implications of involving local communities in biodiversity conservation in Blouberg Nature Reserve (BNR) in Limpopo Province, South Africa. To achieve this objective, firstly biodiversity status before and after involving local communities in conservation initiatives was assessed using multi-temporal medium-resolution Landsat series data and species diversity indices. The results showed that there were significant variations (α = 0.05) in tree species diversity in BNR for before and after involving local communities. For example, tree species diversity was low after involving communities particularly for the years 1996 and 2019. Secondly, benefits and costs of involving local communities in biodiversity conservation as well as their investigate views, perceptions and attitudes BNR management were assessed. The study demonstrated local communities do not obtain sufficient benefits or incur numerous costs from the nature reserve. Despite this, there was considerable support for biodiversity conservation (84.2%) since household respondents still held positive attitudes towards biodiversity conservation in the reserve. For, example most of them indicated that they would report illegal activities to the authorities. However, despite lack of participation by the majority of the household respondents (89.6%) in biodiversity conservation, they demonstrated understanding of the relevance of nature conservation. In contrary, the BNR Manager stated that the local communities received benefits in the form of fuel-wood for special occasions such as funerals and bush meat sold at treasury approved tariffs during culling. However, illegal activities like poaching are still experienced in the nature reserve. Thus, the study underscores the relevance the integrating satellite data and qualitative information in assessing the ecological condition of PAs. Such information can help in biodiversity monitoring and decision-making on conservation of biodiversity.     Rancang Bangun Sistem Pencampur Air Dan KOH Pada Plant Produksi Hidrogen Dengan Metode Elektrolisis

    Elektrolisis merupakan suatu proses pemisahan gas hidrogen dan oksigen pada air murni. Pada proses pemisahan tersebut dibutuhkan suatu larutan katalis yang berfungsi untuk mempercepat pemisahan pada air murni (aquades). Pada tugas akhir ini digunakan larutan KOH sebagai katalis. Untuk proses pencampuran larutan KOH dan air (aquades) menggunakan 3 buah wadah akrilik yang masing-masing sebagai tempat KOH, air (aquades), dan hasil campuran KOH dan air air (aquades). Proses pencampuran pada tugas akhir ini menggunakan metode rasio kontrol dengan sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04 yang diletakkan pada wadah pencampur. Sensor ultrasonik yang digunakan memiliki 3 variasi nilai error yaitu 0,102% pada set point 11 cm, 0,131% pada set point 14 cm dan 0,159% pada set point 17 cm. Selain itu, digunakan alat pengaduk otomatis pada wadah mixing process yang digerakkan oleh motor DC 12 volt. Motor DC akan mengaduk saat KOH mengalir ke wadah mixing process dengan durasi waktu saat komposisi aquades 60% dan KOH 40% yaitu 431,12 detik. Sedangkan, saat komposisi aquades 70% dan KOH 30% motor dc akan mengaduk dengan durasi waktu 140,01 detik. Pengambilan data respon sistem pada set point ketinggian 11 cm didapatkan waktu steady state 675,08 detik, set point ketinggian 14 cm dengan waktu steady state 883,21 detik, dan pada set point ketinggian 17 cm dengan waktu steady state 975,12 detik ================================================================================================================== Electrolysis is a process of separating the hydrogen gas and oxygen on purest air. Mean while, when the composition of 70% distilled water and 30% KOH dc motor will stir with duration time is 140.01 seconds. Date retrieval system response on set point height of 11 cm obtained steady state time 675.08 seconds, set point height of 14 cm time 883.21 seconds steady state, and at set point height of 17 cm time steady state is 975.12 seconds

    KARAKTERISASI KECEPATAN PUTARAN BERDASARKAN RASIO INPUT BAHAN BAKAR PADA GENERATOR SET DUAL FUEL (GASOLINE – BIOGAS) MENGGUNAKAN JARINGAN SYARAF TIRUAN

    Currently, energy consumption in Indonesia has increased so that the utilization of renewable energy is more developed to supply projections for future energy needs. One of the renewable energy sources that is being developed is biogas, especially for household-scale biogas. There are several types of biogas implementation at the household scale, one of which is the use of biogas as generator fuel to produce electricity. Fuel generators can use biogas in full or mix gasoline with biogas fuel. Electric generator sets with dual gasoline-biogas fuel can save the use of gasoline as fuel and can also increase the performance of generators. The gasoline-biogas mixture ratio affects engine performance, one of which is the rotational speed. However, at present the ratio of gasoline to biogas is still manually regulated on household scale biogas usage. Based on these conditions, the artificial neural networks(ANN) method was developed in this study which aims to find the optimal ratio in order to get the generator set rotational speed characterization with the best engine performance value. A total of 300 variations of data were processed using 75% for training with the number of hidden nodes 100 net.trainParam.goal value = 0.0001, net.trainParam.lr = 0.01, and net.trainParam.epochs = 1000, and 25% for the test. This study produced a RMSE training value of 10.4812 at node 55 and a test RMSE value of 5.8301 with a rotational speed of 3445.87, and obtained the best ratio of 0.012 L / min gasoline and 5 L / min biogas
