Eco-friendly composites for brake pads from agro waste: a review

    Get PDF
Natural fibers possess unique property densities that make them potential alternative reinforcement materials in synthetic brake pad composites. This article presents a comprehensive review for the potential and possibilities of reinforcing brake pads using natural plant-based fibers. The influential keys to designing brake pad composites are found to be thermal stability, interfacial bond of the matrix with the fiber, thermal fade, effectiveness, and recovery. Besides that, the optimization technique for manufacturing process of eco-friendly brake pads is also covered. It can be concluded that natural fibers can be used as potential materials for designing effective eco-friendly brake pad composites in the near future

DETECTION OF CRACKS IN SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM BY USING VARIOUS TECHNIQUES: A REVIEW

In this review work the crack detection procedure by using vibration and wavelet technique is discussed. Crack converts the linear problem to nonlinear problem and affects the natural frequency. So in this paper we discussed the various methods to find out cracks on beams like destructive testing and non-destructive testing. Wavelet technique is mathematical method alternative to the non-destructive testing like fast fourier transform and is also provides good result compared to other methods. As in this the wavelets are developed and it is solved by various types like mother wavelet technique. This work provides a review for the readers and it is solution to the crack detection by wavelet technique.</jats:p

ENERGY CONVERSION PHENOMENON IN IMPLEMENTATION OF WATER LIFTING BY USING PENDULUM EFFECT

This paper consist of working of reciprocating pump which is driven by a compound pendulum. It provides the energy required to lift the water from a tank placed approximately several meter below the ground level. Basic application of the mechanism will be for watering the garden which will be operated by means of operation opening and closing of entrance gate. Paper consists of basic concept, design of pump and compound pendulum mechanism and fabricationed model. The concept can also be implemented in the rural areas, having the problem of electric supply. We aim at making a prototype for providing some mean for pumping of water by the pump which requires less human efforts, considering cost effectiveness, easy to operate and portable mechanism

Hygiene Bio-Toilet Model for Energy Generation

On August 15, 1947, British paramountcy had left India with many wonders including railway which also called ‘veins of our country’ spread across every length and breadth of country. Indian Railways (IR) were being constantly criticized, as the discharges from toilets was laid on the tracks and this leads to environmental hazard. The toilet system in Indian Railways works in such a manner that the human faces and urine gets directly flushed on railway tracks through the hole on the floor of IR coaches. In current scenario, to deal with this issue, different systems like Controlled Discharge Toilet System (CDTS), Bio-toilet developed by IR engineers and DRDO biotechnologists, and Zero Discharge Toilet System (ZDTS) are extensively used. In this paper, a model of flush to energy is presented. The Bio-toilet system focuses on conversion of the toilet waste and biodegradable waste from station into energy which can be used for different purposes.</jats:p
