Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a leading cause of nosocomial infections, ranking second among the Gram-negative pathogens. Hence, this study was required to enhance the knowledge about this particular organism. A total of 100 isolates of P. aeruginosaisolated from various clinical specimens like urine, pus, blood, body fluids, sputum, collected from patients, irrespective of age and sex, were identified by standard microbiological procedures. A total of 100 culture positive samples were taken and it was found that P. aeruginosa was predominantly present in urine samples of males aged between 21 and 30 years

The aim of this study is isolation, identification and characterized the bioactive compounds from the rhizomes of arisaema utile. Preliminary Phytochemical screening of the rhizome extract of arisaema utile revealed the presence of Steroids, terpenoids, Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Saponins & Carbohydrates. The air dried rhizomes were pulverized to powder, subjected to Soxhlet extraction and compound Isolation. The isolated compound was colorless crystalline, which was further subjected to IR, 13CNMR and 1HNMR for proper characterization and elucidation of the structure. The compound was concluded as β-Sitosterol. Antioxidant activity of the isolated compound was measured by DPPH assay under in-vitro condition. The isolated compound showed most promising radical scavenging activity at concentration of 10μg/ml. &nbsp

In the title compound, C23H22N2O2S2, the dihedral angles between the 4-methoxy-substituted phenyl ring and the other two phenyl rings are 84.4 (4) and 77.7 (1)°, respectively, while the dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 57.5 (2)°. The amino group is not involved in an N—H hydrogen bond. The crystal packing is established by intermolecular C—H⋯O packing interactions involving a relatively rare weak three-center hydrogen bond between the keto O atom and H atoms of the two nearby phenyl rings, which link the molecules into chains running along the a axis. Additional weak intermolecular hydrogen-bond interactions between the 4-methoxy O atom and one of the phenyl rings and provide added stability to the crystal packing

Introduction: Respiratory physiotherapy is one of the therapeutic methods in various respiratory viral infections. Breathing exercises with other interventions, could enhance the total lung capacity and symptom alleviation in patients with virus-related acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Aim: To study the clinical evaluation of the role of physiotherapy in hospitalised patients of covid-19 diseases. Method: This was an Observational (prospective, cross-sectional) study. 187 patients were recruited and diagnosed as COVID-19 as per RTPCR at NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur (MP). Patients were randomised into the physiotherapy group and controlled group. Patients in the physiotherapy group were undergone positional changes, prone ventilation, Breathing exercise, Resistive training, Passive joint motion, Muscle stretching, Bedside standing training, endurance exercise by a specialized physiotherapist. Mean cough severity index, MMRC grade, respiration rate and peripheral blood saturation were recorded before and after intervention and compared with the controlled group. Result: There was significant improvement found in MMRC grade and respiration rate after physical therapy in the physiotherapy group (p-value < 0.05). Exertional dyspnoea and cough severity index significant deceased in physiotherapy group. The positive change was found in peripheral blood saturation. There was decreased in hospitalization stay in the physiotherapy group as compared to the controlled group. Conclusion: Our study revealed the positive effect of physiotherapy on covid-19 disease in terms of symptoms and hospitalization duration among the physiotherapy group. Physiotherapy exerts a beneficial role in the management of the covid-19 disease

INTRODUCTION: High mortality due to septic shock may be due to latent bacteremia and unrecognised bloodstream infections. Every organ in the body is affected by the microorganisms circulating in blood whether transiently, continuously or intermittently. Blood Culture is of significance for early diagnosis and preventing such life threatening infections. Antimicrobial resistance pattern of these isolates is of further importance for rationalizing the treatment. OBJECTIVE: To perform bacteriological analysis and to study drug susceptibility patterns of isolates from blood stream infections. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted in the microbiology department of NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur, spanning from July 2023 to December 2023. The study included blood culture samples from all adult ICU patients of the medical college.  Blood samples were collected with aseptic guidelines and cultured for 7 days. Growths were identified using standard biochemical tests and subjected to sensitivity testing according to Modified Kirby–Bauer’s disk diffusion method. Data for the source of blood collection and duration of incubation were noted and compared. RESULTS: A total of 100 (21.7%) pathogens were isolated from 460 bacteremia suspect patient blood specimens. Pseudomonas spp.were predominant organisms recovered followed by Klebseilla spp. and Staphylococcus aureus, CoNS, and Acinetobacter spp. were the primary pathogens isolated. Carbapenems, glycopeptides and aminoglycosides, were the most effective drugs for treating bacteremia. CONCLUSIONS: Early diagnosis and proper antimicrobial therapy leads to successful treatment of sepsis and decreased morbidity and mortality. Antibiogram of particular area helps in rationalizing verified treatment strategies. KEY WORDS ,ABBREVIATIONS: Intensive care unit(ICU), bacteremia, multidrug resistant, Bacterial isolate
