This study aims to determine the effect of the USD/AUD, interest rates, WTI oil prices, AORD index and NYMEX gold prices on stock returns of mining and resources in Australian capital market. Based on research defined by Nordin brothers and Ismail (2014) and supported by Rostamy, Hosseini and Bakhshitakanlou (2013) these factors are leading indicators that affect stock returns of mining and resources. This research is using non-random sampilng method for macroeconomic data in Australia, and it is analyzed with regression. Variable USD/AUD, interest rates, oil prices, AORD index and gold prices are partially and simultaniously analyzed regarding effect to the stock returns of mining and resources in Australian capital market. The results showed that in Australian capital market, the USD/AUD do not have effect with stock returns of mining and resources, interest rates do not have effect with stock returns of mining and it has negative effect with stock returns of resources, other variabels such as oil prices, AORD index and gold price have positive effect with stock returns of mining and resources. The results of this study, referred to the previous literature prove that the leading indicator of macroeconomic influence to cyclical stocks such as stock returns of mining and resources

This study aims (1) to construct Econometric Input-Output Model for Indonesia, which emphasizes the linkage between sectors, and (2) to analyze the impact of budgetallocation policy of development expenditure on Indonesian economy. The model, which construct by combining the advantages of input-output modeland econometric model, is called Model Input-Output Ekonometrika Indonesia. Themodel consists of 112 dynamic simultaneous equations, and it uses secondary data from1980-2000. The equation\u27s parameters are estimated by using the combination of threeestimation methods: (1) Ordinary Least Squares, (2) First Order of Autoregressive, and(3) Second Order of Autoregressive. The model is validated by Gauss-Siedel Methodand it is used for policy simulation analysis of budget development expenditure. The study shows that the impact of budget reallocation of developmentexpenditure on Indonesian economy (final demand, output, income, and sectoralemployment) is better than the budget allocation of development expenditure inRAPBN (National Budgetary Plan) 2002. Plantation sector gave the highestcontribution in supporting the output multiplier and high income. Furthermore, the food, beverages, and tobacco industries gave the highest contribution in creating highemployment multiplier

[1] Using six Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellites (POES) satellites that have carried the Space Environment Module-2 instrument package, a total of 436,422 individual half-orbits between 1998 and 2010 were inspected by an automatic detection algorithm searching for electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) driven relativistic electron precipitation (REP). The algorithm searched for one of the key characteristics of EMIC-driven REP, identified as the simultaneity between spikes in the P1 (52 keV differential proton flux channel) and P6 (>800 keV electron channel). In all, 2331 proton precipitation associated REP (PPAREP) events were identified. The majority of events were observed at L-values within the outer radiation belt (3 < L < 7) and were more common in the dusk and night sectors as determined by magnetic local time. The majority of events occurred outside the plasmasphere, at L-values ~1 Re greater than the plasmapause location determined from two different statistical models. The events make up a subset of EMIC-driven proton spikes investigated by Sandanger et al. (2009), and potentially reflect different overall characteristics compared with proton spikes, particularly when comparing their location to that of the plasmapause, i.e., EMIC-driven proton precipitation inside the plasmapause, and potentially EMIC-driven REP outside the plasmapause. There was no clear relationship between the location of plasmaspheric plumes and the locations of the PPAREP events detected. Analysis of the PPAREP event occurrence indicates that high solar wind speed and high geomagnetic activity levels increase the likelihood of an event being detected. The peak PPAREP event occurrence was during the declining phase of solar cycle 23, consistent with the 2003 maximum in the geomagnetic activity index, Ap

The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of road construction on production factor income both forIntra and Inter West-East Region of Indonesia. The model used is named Interregional Social AccountingMatrix West and East Region of Indonesia (IRSAM WEI). Within the IRSAM WEI framework, constructionsector is disaggregated into construction of road infrastructure (including bridge) and others construction.Meanwhile urban and rural household income classification is disaggregated into low, middle, and highincomes. The result shows that the impact of road construction may increase production factor income. BothWI and EI urban areas gain larger benefit of production factor income than rural areas. In addition, interregionally, the WI gain more than the EI

110GHz fT Silicon Bipolar Transistors Implemented using Fluorine Implantation for Boron Diffusion Suppression

    No full text
This paper investigates how fluorine implantation can be used to suppress boron diffusion in the base of a double polysilicon silicon bipolar transistor and hence deliver a record fT of 110 GHz. Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS) and transmission electron microscopy are used to characterize the effect of the fluorine implantation energy and dose, the anneal temperature and ambient and the germanium pre-amorphisation implant on the fluorine profiles. These results show that retention of fluorine in the silicon is maximised when a high-energy fluorine implant is combined with a low thermal budget inert anneal. TEM images show that a high-energy fluorine implant into germanium pre-amorphised silicon eliminates the end of range defects from the germanium implant and produces a band of dislocation loops deeper in the silicon at the range of the fluorine implant. Boron SIMS profiles show a suppression of boron diffusion for fluorine doses at and above 5?1014cm-2, but no suppression at lower fluorine doses. This suppression of boron diffusion correlates with the appearance on the SIMS profiles of a fluorine peak at a depth of approximately Rp/2, which is attributed to fluorine trapped in vacancy-fluorine clusters. The introduction of a fluorine implant at this critical fluorine dose into a bipolar transistor process flow leads to an increase in cut-off frequency from 46 to 60GHz. Further optimisation of the base-width and the collector profile leads to a further increase in cut-off frequency to 110GHz. Two factors are postulated to contribute to the suppression of boron diffusion by the fluorine implant. First, the elimination of the germanium end of range defects, and the associated interstitial population, by the fluorine implant, removes a source of transient enhanced diffusion. Second, any interstitials released by the dislocation loops at the range of the fluorine implant would be expected to recombine at the vacancy-fluorine clusters before reaching the boron profile

Maize is the second largest contributor to GDP after rice in the food crops subsector in Indonesia. The domestic maize production is unable to meet the high demand. Therefore, there is a gap or imbalance between supply and demand and maize import cannot be avoided. The implementation of ASEAN Free Trade Area has reduced and eliminated tariff barriers. The objectives of the study are to: (1) identify factors that affect the supply and demand for maize, and (2) analyze the impact of changes in maize import tariff on the supply, demand, and welfare of producers and consumers of maize in Indonesia. The study used time series data from 1986-2010. Indonesian Maize Trade model is constructed as a system of simultaneous equations and estimated method using Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS).The elimination of Indonesian maize import tariff from AFTA or non AFTA countries is leading to decreased producer surplus. Therefore, the combination of eliminating Indonesian maize import tariff from AFTA and non AFTA countries, decreasing the retail price of urea fertilizer, and increasing maize prices at the farm level can compensate the decrease of producer surplus so that the welfare can be increased(net surplus)

    Malignant pheochromocytoma in a pig

    Get PDF
Abstract. Endocrine tumors are rarely observed in pigs, and pheochromocytomas have been only punctually described. The current report describes a white and firm, 15-cm in diameter, neoplastic mass located in the adrenal gland with metastasis to regional lymph nodes in a 2.5-year-old sow. The masses had marked desmoplasia that supported a population of polygonal-tospindle– shaped neoplastic cells arranged into cords and packets within a delicate fibrovascular stroma. Immunohistochemical staining of the tumor was positive for chromogranin and negative for neurofilament protein in adrenal and lymph node masses, which was characteristic of a malignant pheochromocytoma
