The paper discusses particular techniques of building wooden houses, which combine long construction elements and wattle and daub, based on the evidence from the Balkans and Central Europe, using analogies from other parts of the world from the Early Iron Age. Effects of News Media Consumption on Political Partisanship, Identity and Issue Stances

This research sought to identify to what extent news media consumption plays a role in forming an individual’s political identity and their views on individual stances. The subsequent novel quantitative study asked students of various disciplines at Marquette University questions in regards to how much they pay attention to various news sources, to what extent they trust those news sources, and their views on individual issues as they relate to their chosen political identity. Results from the study found basic trends in regards to selected news sources and one’s political disposition. Furthermore, stances on certain issues, like border security, were found to be more heavily shaped by media consumption patterns, showing the power of how news media frames issues. This study can be thought of as a precursor for more expansive research that could include a more representative sample of the American population

Projects of restoration of decayed churches and chapels in the Hartmanicko and Prášilsko areas

This thesis deals with the analysis of the past and the current state of three selected monuments in the territory of Hartmanice and Prášily, namely the synagogue in Hartmanice, the church in Dobrá Voda and the church in Prášily. These completely or significantly destroyed buildings were repaired in an attempt to restore their original form with the help of various sponsors and volunteers. The thesis discusses their original ecclesial use with today's form and function of buildings. Further emphasis is placed on the interpretation of ecclesiastical monuments and their role in the mediation of identity. The theoretical part deals with the issues of sacral landscape, heritage, landscape memory and key factors creating identity in the region. In addition, in the empirical part, the religious monuments and the results found through interviews and field research are presented. Research has shown that although the monuments are different, they have proven to be an important element in the landscape that is important for identifying the region. Renewed sacral buildings are an important symbol of believers, but they are also used for secular purposes and have their own tourist significance. Keywords: heritage; restoration; religious landscape; Bohemian Forest; CzechiaTato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou minulého a současného stavu tří vybraných památek na území Hartmanicka a Prášilska, konkrétně synagogy v Hartmanicích, kostela v Dobré Vodě a kostela v Prášilech. Tyto zcela, nebo značně poničené budovy byly ve snaze vrátit jejich původní podobu za pomoci různých sponzorů a dobrovolníků opraveny. V práci se diskutuje především jejich dnešní podoba a využití ve srovnání s původním účelem. Dále se klade důraz na interpretaci církevních památek a jejich roli při zprostředkování identity. Teoretická část se věnuje problematice sakrální krajiny, dědictví, paměti krajiny a klíčovým faktorům vytvářejícím identitu v regionu. Dále jsou v empirické části představeny církevní památky a výsledky zjištěné pomocí rozhovorů a terénního výzkumu. Výzkum ukázal, že i když jsou památky rozdílné, prokázaly se být důležitým prvkem v krajině, který přispívá k vytváření identity v regionu. Obnovené sakrální stavby jsou důležitým symbolem věřících, ale jsou i využívány pro světské účely a mají svůj turistický význam. Adaptation and pilot validization of the Inventory of Countertransference Behavior for use in Czech environment

The submitted work describes the phenomenon of countertransference in the psychotherapeutic dyad, its historical development, and offers an overview of research on countertransference as a construct. The aim of the work is to create Czech items for the Inventory of Countertransference Behavior and to conduct a pilot validation study for the self-assessment form of the questionnaire. The validation hypothesis was based on the empirically supported relationship between countertransference and the client's personality pathology. Data were collected from fifteen psychotherapists who selected two of their clients with different levels of personality functioning, and then after each session with them filled out the translated Inventory of Countertransference Behavior, in which they evaluated their own tendencies to respond to the client in a certain way. As expected, the therapists' countertransference behavior was stronger in clients with lower levels of personality functioning. A very strong effect was found (Cohen's d = 1.07). Furthermore, a correlation analysis of personality functioning level with the total score of countertransference behavior was performed, whose result also supports the construct validity of the questionnaire, and the hypothesis about the higher ability to reflect on their...Předložená práce popisuje fenomén protipřenosu v psychoterapeutické dyádě, jeho historický vývoj a nabízí přehled výzkumu protipřenosu jako konstruktu. Cílem práce je vytvořit české položky dotazníku Inventory of countertransference behavior a provést pilotní validizační studii pro sebehodnotící formu dotazníku. Validizační hypotéza byla postavena na empiricky podloženém vztahu protipřenosu a osobnostní patologie klienta. Byla vybrána data od patnácti psychoterapeutů, kteří zvolili dva své klienty s rozdílnou úrovní fungování osobnosti a následně po sesi s každým z nich vyplnili přeložený inventář protipřenosového chování, v němž hodnotili vlastní tendence reagovat na klienta určitým způsobem. Dle očekávání bylo protipřenosové chování terapeutů silnější u klientů s nižší úrovní fungování osobnosti. Byl nalezen velmi silný efekt (Cohenovo d = 1.07). Dále byla provedena korelační analýza úrovně fungování osobnosti s celkovým skórem protipřenosového chování, jejíž výsledek taktéž hovoří ve prospěch konstruktové validity dotazníku a otestována hypotéza o vyšší schopnosti reflektovat své protipřenosové chování u psychoterapeutů s psychodynamicky orientovaným výcvikem. Amber as Jewellery, Status Symbol and Work of Art

The paper presents a Late Archaic Italic amber head from the collections of the National Museum in Prague, with some brief notes on the amber routes, and role of amber in exchange of keimelia, wedding gifts and antidorons. The studied head is compared with stylistic particularities of heads and figurines, from fine Ionian oeuvres to cruder Italic and Etruscan varieties
